Is this based on anything tangible or just because you're a massive Toews fan? I ain't saying one way or the other just asking for reasoning behind this assertation. For example someone like little ***** gaudreau you can easily point to the fLames ot record and amount of points gaudreau gets there but has toews done anything extrodinary in ot so far?
-
So just decided not to follow the conversation? Noeller was arguing Toews over Wheeler on the basis that points aren't all that matters, I am disagreeing and saying that in an all star game might as well just base it on points therefore Wheeler should be there over Toews.

yeah a first and a prospect is pretty much the standard, but there's a difference between a B prospect and Drouin. For Drouin think about what it would take for you to trade Ehlers cause they're pretty similar players. Would you give up Ehlers and a first round pick for a free agent defenceman who wants a long and big contract when he's on the wrong side of 30?
-
y'all are over rating Jennings for a small sample size. Remember when Cato was getting the same treatment? Young qbs need more time to accurately judge them. Yeah he had an impressive run, will it last or was it catching people unawares?
-
For an allstar game? What other criteria would you propose to use? Not going to see any kind of two way play in the allstar game.
-
Oh my you really are over rating what a free agent will get.

As far as backup qbs go Nichols is pretty good. I wouldn't want to rely on him every week to be the starter, but he's experienced and has some ability to move the ball. That's pretty much the best you hope for in a backup qb. The only time you see a better situation is when a younger player is coming in and pushing the established veteran starter. This is the best quarterbacking situation the Bombers have had going into a season since probably Khari Jones and Kevin Glenn were both here.

Yeah Roberts I think could produce with any kind of offensive line in front of him. He was so quick to get to his top speed and had such great direction changes he could find openings on his own, but in addition to that he never seemed to go down on first contact. Always able to get by at least the first guy and improvise after that.

People are letting the massive amount of injuries that happened to CFL qbs last season make them play silly buggers with rankings.

Quite the murderers row there... That's a tough tough pool to be in at the best of times.

Teams are really using the extra DI spots to make life hell on offenses yet teams still stubbornly refuse to ever use more than 2 imports on the offensive line. Just blows my mind.

No one really talked about the guy unless in passing just to mention where he was before, this is the first offseason there's really been much talk about him maybe finding his way up here, there's a good reason for it. He has almost used up all the NFL opportunities so it's more likely he does come. You don't like the talk then ignore it but no one is pencilling him in, just hoping he does come because he has the potential to help the team. Nothing wrong with that. I quite frankly enjoy hearing the thoughts about NFL movements from people who know more about that league than I do.

good news nothing else really needs to be said.

I don't think I ever read the books but I know my brother always said he enjoyed them. I just am a fan of fantasy on TV so I guess I'll have to check it out and see.
-
As in based on the books? How is it possible I didn't know they were making a show based on that... guess I need to crawl out from under my rock.

Stafford was a pending FA wasn't he? So it's a FA swap and then some prospects. It's not a bad return but it's hardly great. Pretty much the good player for various pieces that may or may not work out.
-
Don't forget that Bogosian was also part of that deal. Yeah the Jets came out ahead on the deal but Kane wasn't the only valuable piece they gave up.

First of all, rentals generally get a first plus a prospect and maybe a crappy roster player if they're good enough... but if you're dealing with Edmonton you're not getting the usual late first round pick so the value there is automatically higher. Hell their chances of making playoffs are slim so that first round pick is a lottery ticket that could land a first overall (and given their luck at winning the lottery who is to say what happens) So the idea that you could get a first plus any of RNH, Eberle or Yakupov with Buff being the main piece is just pie in the sky dreaming. Any one of those players could be moved, but it won't be for a guy on an expiring contract. Maybe Yakupov but then again Yakupov showed some pretty damned good chemistry with McDavid. His problem has been that when he doesn't have an offensive minded centre he doesn't produce and given Eberle is ahead on the depth chart and Purcell is more experienced and therefore more trusted it leaves Yakupov either playing his off wing which he hasn't been good at, or in a bottom 6 role that he is ill suited to. Now however things could look different as they have 3 offensive centres so Yakupov wouldn't have to waste his time playing with Lander or Letestu. Eberle would be available for the right package, but considering he's the best pure goal scorer on the oilers and is heating up after a slow start returning from injury and has a cost controlled contract for a lot of years I doubt they're in a hurry to move him for anything less than an over pay. Same deal for RNH. Guy has been playing 1C for years and doing fine at it, he's cost controlled and still has plenty of potential. You want him offer up a young top pairing D. Mclellan loves him and consider that Nashville asked about his availability and was told that one of Weber, Josi or Jones had to go back to get talks started. So if Edmonton is getting Buff it's for at most a first round pick plus crappy players or prospects. You want the actual good players from Edmonton the cost to get them is prohibitive.

Definition of a waste of money.
-
Only you could take a well known saying and twist it into an argument like this. It's just a saying. I mean really generally the best coaches weren't terribly great players (there are always exceptions but a lot of coaches were pedestrian at best players)

Terry Jones is unhappy when the buffet closes down. His time as a quality reporter is long past and he's just a guy who goes through the motions and tries to disturb ****.
-
Yeah that guy got railroaded by a bad situation.
-
Eisenberg is OK in the right role, in this role though.... yikes. Just don't buy it.
-
So just chalk it up as karma and the universe balancing itself out after Edmonton managed only 1 goal on Varlamov the game before despite throwing 40+ shots on net. Score changes a game too, it was pretty even until the Oilers went up by a couple goals and then it was full on "don't blow this" from them as you might expect considering how banged up they are as a team and how useless 2 of their lines are.

I guess what I just don't like is that it seemed that he became less competent as the movie went on eventually losing to a noob. I think there was probably a way to accomplish the same story telling without making him come across as a total *****. The fight with Finn was fine no problems there, Finn got beaten pretty cleanly as you'd expect. It's nit picking anyway, I did enjoy the movie and can see a lot of potential for the next instalment.
