Calgary is still going to be a good team, but I think their D is also poised to take a step back which is massive. Their offense gets all the headlines, but it was their defense that carried them last year if you ask me.

Demski and coombs are similar and wolitarsky and peterman are similar, so that is a good situation for back ups should the bombers bring coombs in. So which other Manitoba runningbacks/receivers does Walters need to complete his collection?

I think it's a combination of enough guys having been released that there are emergency options if you need one and they likely view their canadian runningbacks as emergency depth in that position as well.

Nichols is gonna be here regardless, they're gonna want someone developing behind him who might be able to take over one day, which is where it comes into play. Bennett I don't see ever being a starter in this league.

because McGuire is probably seen as more likely to develop into a guy who can back up properly with a bit of experience. I think at best Bennett is a guy you hope can do enough with his legs and big arm to win.

If you get one player per draft in the CFL I'd say you're already well above average. Walters hasn't had a draft that yielded nothing yet I don't think. t

When you draft as well as Walters has this is going to be the reality far more often than not. Teams will wait for our cuts rather than us being the ones who have to go dumpster diving looking for treasure.

Fact is that Peterman has made plays every time he has got a chance, wolitarski made plays when he got a chance... simonise made a play and that's about it. Earn your spot, he didn't do it. Say what you will about Kyle Walter's but he is not sentimental about his draft picks. He moves on when guys don't show enough.

Another factor is that they likely feel good about the canadians on the interior of the ol and won't need to start 3 receivers. DT as well. Think they feel good with a Canadian there.

We all wanted Simonise to work out because the tools are all there... but this team isn't in a wait for guys to maybe work out mode, they are in a let's ******* win mode so when other people play better tough luck.

That's what it comes down to. As a receiver if you drop passes you don't make the team.
