Lapo needed to let Streveler play with a real game plan. Handing off every first down is not a good way to make it easier on your young qb. That just puts him in more 2nd and longs. I thought he was OK apart from a couple plays, just didn't have a game plan to showcase him. It was all about the classic Lapo play it safe and punt game plan with a lead. D was dominant, especially the defensive line. Ottawa just just chucking and hoping for the best all night. When Nichols was in Lapo was good Lapo, after he went out he went into his shell.

You know I went back and looked at the results between these two teams, now unless I counted wrong (distinct possibility) The Bombers do more winning against them than they do against us. I suspect perhaps you are thinking about a couple times when the Bombers were on the wrong end of a bad score.

Simple fact is the Bombers whole philosophy is to take plays when they are there, but don't take risks and win by making less mistakes than the other team. It's worked pretty well lately, fancy stats be damned.

So much worry about offensive numbers... Winnipeg doesn't play for offensive numbers. They play safe, which means low risk on offense and rely on special teams to shift field position in their favour and defense to get the ball back for them.

People can have any opinion they want, all that matters is whether they are comfortable defending that opinion in a logical manner.
