Oh I am not questioning whether people believe it. Obviously they do, only questioning the truth to it. Trump really hasn't done much of anything and I am curious the specifics of it all.
-
Are people willing to vote for Trump a reliable source though? What do they cite as things Trump as done to help them? Realistically the only thing Trump has done is a tax cut for the wealthy which help a small segment of people. Other than that what policy's he put in place? He really has been a do nothing president other than half baked ludicrous ideas.

God are you stupid or just too lazy to read? The empty suit ucp candidate in my riding had more votes than all others combined. So unless I voted for him it was a throw away vote? At least I didn't vote for theft and disminantaling of education and Healthcare. I may have thrown my vote away, but you voted to **** this province over for decades to come. And that is why I am not letting you distance yourself from it. You chose this. You supported this. You gave Jason kenney free reign to do all these thing. Hope you're happy. At least I cast a vote for a decent person and a party that wasn't interested in ******* everyone over.
-
Odds have to be pretty good that he will try and use Biden mic at some point.
-
This is what struck me watching the first debate. Trump uses business jargon to avoid facts. Things like "i just had X in my office discussing that" or "X and I spoke on the phone about that" that might be a fine stall tactic in a board room but it doesn't work in politics.
-
Hey I am telling you why I voted the way I did. I am not saying you can't vote how you want, but I am telling you that by voting ucp you endorsed their current behaviors. You got what you voted for and you can't run away from it. The Alberta party didn't split the vote, it was over 70% in favour of the ucp. And in my particular riding as I said the ucp candidate got more votes than everyone else combined. The Alberta party didn't cause enough vote splitting to stop anything. Gullible albertans like you simply bought the lies kenney was selling.
-
He is going to burn the place to the ground during the lame duck period isn't he? That is the dumbest thing American politics has.
-
70% of people voted for this because kenney was going to get us all back to work! Here we are years later and more and more people are having to leave oil and gas and the economy is still in the shitter. Good job Jason and every single person who voted for him.
-
More likely he is taking a lot of the blame for the failings and he is in the dog house.
-
Funnily enough I don't think it's an Alberta problem. Consider how many people moved here for work so you get people from all types driving with Alberta plates. But yeah drivers suck here. Very badly. Also were they driving a giant truck? If so then rig pigs. Not exactly the best and brightest.
-
Yeah but $$$$$$$
-
I voted for the candidate. And no it wasn't a case of vote splitting. The idiot ucp candidate we had got more votes than all the other combined so it literally didn't matter. I also completely reject the idea that there is a wasted vote. Vote for who you want not who might win. This is the voice we get and I will use it however I see fit. You on the other hand bought the crap about the ucp being just the PCs so nothing bad will happen. Well how does that look in hindsight? I have no regrets voting for someone who was a PC but left the UCP because he could not stomach what they wanted to do. Do you have regrets in how you voted?
-
I like these guys a hell of a lot better than the real thing:
-
Never ever voted NDP at any level. Just will not ever vote Jason kenney. I voted for the Alberta party last time. Rick Fraser was a very good candidate so I supported him. But ifngiven a choice between notley and kenney that's a no-brainer, as we are seeing now. Ucp just made 2 their health care something they officially support, pulling out of cpp is officially a party stance. Yeah you ucp supporters can get bent. You did this to us all through your ignorance and I won't let anyone forget.

He certainly is a fascist and an aspiring dictator. The man who self professes to never joke has how many times talked about getting a third term? Or 12 more years? A man who has openly pondered about pardoning himself? A guy who is ignoring the laws of the land and daring anyone to do something about it? You really think he doesn't want to be just like Putin? As for the extra-judicial killings, I am talking about the left winger who was killed by federal marshalls amid all the protests. Trump has bragged about how they solved the problem in minutes. Vigilante groups like the ones who hatched a plot to kidnap a governor he didn't like for being a democrat. You can't hand wave these things away because it doesn't fit your world view. We're not talking about stupid **** he says on twitter, we're talking about his real actions. Don't be one of those people who dismisses the dog whistles because it's not explicitly said. Trump has always loved his weasel words.
-
You don't change people's minds by simply telling them they are wrong. You change minds by making people realize for themselves that they are idiots.
-
How can you honestly believe that Trump is the better law and order choice when he has applauded extra-judicial killings? When he prefers to ignore due process and deal with the fall out later? When he encourages vigilante groups like he does? He is an outright fascist and aspiring dictator... and you believe him to be less draconian? And here's the thing, It's not JUST about Trump's pandering. It's also about who he is going to put in place in the administration and there are definitely not a bunch of people pandering in his administration. There are tons of true believers in big roles there. Really I am not a believer in party politics, however there is nothing about what the republican party stands for that is appealing. The biggest shame in the US is that there is only one other choice, however it's a no brainer choice because nothing the republicans do benefits the majority of the population and I get angry about it because their **** spills over the border and we get people like Jason Kenney thinking they can do that kind of crap up here. Trump is a con man who is only out to benefit himself. Isolationist talk is nonsense in this day and age. The world has moved too far away from it and going back isn't going to improve anyones life. A man who thinks foreign policy is solved by stupid assed trade wars or open threats isn't the guy to navigate the current world. You will never get rid of the military industrial complex. That's the biggest welfare program in America and if you try then you are going to cripple your economy. So really what has Trump done it distance himself from it? No wars? Ok I get that, but really who is the US going to fight that they aren't already fighting? I don't believe that the democrats are the big warhawks you think they are. Let's not forget that Trump has put some big warhawks in his administration too. Being pissed at the democrats for shunning Bernie Sanders (an outsider to the party except to run for the presidential nomination) doesn't mean Trump is the best answer.
-
my favourite is Trump not wanting to name him after himself because he was afraid he would be a failure.
-
You know time was we used to shame idiots into silence. Now they feel like their opinions are as valid as anyone's and people are just OK with it. Problem is idiots took the phrase that everyone is entitled to their opinion to mean they could disregard anything they don't like and believe whatever they want. Liking vanilla over chocolate is an opinion and you are entitled to that no matter what else anyone else says, but **** like "in my opinion masks do nothing" is not above criticism because you can prove that masks do in fact work. People like this need to stand up and pull their heads out of their asses and be open minded enough to critically think about things rather than celebrating their ignorance.
-
So essentially you're all over the map in what you want... so why in gods name would you defend Trump? Anti war? Well I dunno that Trump is as antiwar as all that. If he saw a personal benefit to a war he'd start one no questions asked. He has already stepped pretty close to that line with Iran. If you are left leaning on on social issues why Trump? He's full on with the Republicans backwards social agenda. You talk about education for drug crimes with is the complete antithesis to Trumps law and order campaign planks (which what he means is lock em all up in the corporate prison system the US has going) Everything you have listed Biden is a better fit than Trump for your opinions IMO with the one exception, your anti-progressive taxation belief. Which is a pretty flimsy thing to use to justify supporting a pretty shitty party and president because every single study shows that trickle down economics don't work and a progressive taxation scheme is vastly superior. It's why everyone in the economics field has said Bidens plan will see a better economic recovery than Trumps. More and more it appears that you just have this irrational dislike of democrats, likely as a result of shunning legitimate news sources in favour of agenda pushing right wing news sources. That's my take anyway. Why else prefer an out and out criminal fascist over a right leaning Democrat? As for Hunter Biden.... the exact point is that Guiliani has no credibility and pawned off this story hoping it would be damaging to Biden's election chances.
-
Please elaborate... Because you know what the biggest gripe Democratic supporters have with Biden? He's too much of a moderate willing to extend the hand and work with Republicans. So I would love to hear what makes Biden so unappealing to an obviously right wing person.
-
which means what exactly? Cause to me if you know someone is making **** up a simple way to refute it is to ask for something back that they don't have. Even the most blindly conservative people have got to admit that this entire thing is too insane to be believable. None of it adds up, and when you consider how hard the Trump team is trying to make a big deal out of Hunter Biden it just loses even more. Christ Joe Biden has been in politics for 100 years, this is the best you can come up with to make him seem unappealing? It's just lazy. Guarantee it's just more projection from Trump "Well my kids do this kind of shitty thing, so Biden's kids must do it too"
-
And the big scandal is apparently that Joe Biden is a caring father to his son. I can see why Trump thinks that's bad, but to normal people it only makes Biden look better.
-
2016 Hillary Clinton being unpopular and a general "how bad can he really be?" for Trump and no wonder people stayed home. Now they have seen how bad Trump can be and people are like "holy ****, we gotta get rid of this guy" So yeah, always expected a big turnout. People love to toss unpopular governments out on their asses.
-
This is exactly what I tried to tell colin earlier in the thread. Under the guise of being impartial media has gone too far in normalizing abhorrent behavior on the right and making minor things on the left seem as bad. True unbiased news would be brutal to the right, but it appears bias because of how awful Republicans are.
