  1. which is exactly why it's bullshit to move them now. Let's at least wait and see if any of the eastern teams get off life support before moving the Bombers yet again. With the new TV contract starting next year, none of the teams in the East should be on life support. That will hardly make a dent as the cap goes up, especially for teams like the Argos and Als that bleed money. The Ticats should be fine in the new stadium for awhile.
  2. Hey everyone, I can't attend the game on the 20th. I'm selling my row 1 tickets for a little less than face value. PM me if interested.
  3. I highly doubt the Crown would want to lay charges, especially very serious ones like aggravated assault, on Rider players unless there is a high likelihood of conviction, certainly a higher standard than they'd apply to the alleged gang members involved. They don't want or need media. Something happened, and they need to have a pretty good idea that there was intent to cause serious physical harm to someone (often use of a weapon) to proceed with aggravated assault charges. Safe to say they didn't grab the guy by the belt loops like the last Rider brought before the courts.
  4. He can't block. I'd rather pay Sorensen half as much to not block anyone, at least he doesn't get carried to the QB by DT's regularly.
  5. Most efficient thing in my opinion is every team gets two bye weeks. With one team per week getting a bye? Does this work with 18 games? One team will have to play 2 in a week in pre-season, another team will have to play 2 in a week regular season, otherwise it works with a 20 week season. So every 9th season you'll have a brutal week.
  6. doesn't it make more sense to have divisions when the team is larger? also, I'm trying to think back to when Ottawa was in the league last time, was there a lot of byes with the odd number of teams? With 10 teams you would have 2 games against every team to get your 18 games. So no need to have a division. I think having 9 stable franchises will be enough of a struggle. Let's find the Argos a place to play first.
  7. I wonder which punch they decided to fine him for. Picard was literally wrapping himself around Anderson every play.
  8. They are very hesitant with public figures though, especially when they (the Crown) will face a backlash. It's not like the States where the prosecutors want all the attention they can get because they need to get elected. I wouldn't doubt that the crown in Regina have dodged pressing charges against Riders in the past.
  9. Troy Mills. Bruce didn't do anything, just got his ass kicked.
  10. The Crown waited 3 weeks and laid aggravated assault charges, so they believe the assault was committed with intent to severely injure or it was committed with a weapon. They were able to identify 2 out of a brawl. This won't be going away quickly. I honestly don't understand why Anderson is on that team just based on what he does on the field. He's getting picked on like crazy, I know the Rider fans think he's a big time playmaker, but that's gonna happen when you get targeted 12 times a game, plus he's just about the biggest assclown around, he doesn't intimidate anyone and embarrasses himself and his team by wasting his energy screaming at referees. This incident is just another example of a guy who can't keep his emotions in check.
  11. I've got the 2x Muamba jersey in the new colours and I like it, but I don't understand why it is so tight. My 2x jersey in the old colours is big enough to drown in. The jersies are supposed to be the same size, yet there is a big difference between the sizing, so much so that the new jersey isn't even that comfortable to wear. I am hoping now that Wade is in charge, that he will be taking care of his fellow husky Bomber fans and correcting this oversight. Either increase the size of the 2X jersies or add a bigger size to the options. Reebok has made everything fitted for the last few years. Hockey jerseys too. I can understand for the players, don't know why for retail. Shush. more stuff needs to be fitted rather than made to accomodate fat people. Sigh. It's also the shoulders. I've got extremely broad shoulders that no amount of weight loss is going to fix. The jersies should be bigger. I've got the broad shoulders too but there's nothing that bugs me more than having something that fits across the shoulders and chest but is way way too big around the stomach... and I'm not even that thin either. I just feel like I'd need to weigh 300 pounds for this stuff to fit properly. I'm 6'6, so the fitted stuff Reebok puts out is usually too short for me, and they don't make tall sizes for jerseys. Jerseys used to be oversized wide and long, which meant I'd wear a shirt under it otherwise it felt like wearing a bed sheet, and could wear a jersey over a parka. No chance of getting one of those current jerseys over a parka, it wears more like a t-shirt. They make a lot of clothes for short fat people, but not much for taller people who aren't sticks.

  13. It's no different than any off-season. Ottawa will draft 3 players from each team in December, other than that everything is normal.
  14. Ankle was why he wasn't drafted early. Pretty common injuries for OL, for 14 year olds to 34 year olds.
  15. Wasn't he Toronto's starting RG for most of last season? He rotated with Eppele and Andrew Jones after Gagne-Marcoux got injured.
  16. Just doesn't make sense. You can't drop a guy in to play centre who hasn't been here all season. Sorensen was bad enough at tackle and guard that BC cut him when they were literally running out of NI's, Wally commented that he can't move his feet well enough to play in the league. Parenteau is brutal at snapping the ball, last thing you need a shaky QB worrying about, and it's not just snapping it on the turf or over his head, putting it too low or too high but into his body throws everything off too. We'd immediately be weaker at two positions.
  17. I don't know why. It's weird to me how everyone bases their impression of the offensive linemen in this league off reputation alone. Guys like Tim O'Neill, Jeff Keeping, Chris Van Zeyl, Justin Sorensen and Marc Parenteau have really stepped their game up and developed themselves into very serviceable players despite a lackluster start to their careers. On the flip side, guys like Dmitri Tsoumpas, Andrew Woodruff and Josh Bourke have seen a pretty decent drop off in play yet they're still treated like gold in the eyes of most fans. How Parenteau fits in that group I don't know. He played more in his early years than he has in his prime. He had multiple opportunities to win a starting job in both Saskatchewan and Toronto and flubbed it. I don't know how anyone can judge him above how he's been judged by coaches, because he rarely plays 2 games in a row. Parenteau's value is that he can play multiple positions at an average level. Sorensen has no ability to move laterally. He was smart enough to learn a new position that can mask his deficiencies. O'Neill has always been a savvy, scrappy interior lineman, not the most talented. Van Zeyl and Keeping are two of the most athletic OL in the league who were coached into players, kind of like what we've been hoping would happen with Greaves, but hasn't likely due to our poor coaching.
  18. I'd like to see Volny start if Simpson is out. IMO he's a better every down back than Ford, and he can block. Ford is a speed guy.
  19. If that was true he wouldn't have just signed Kyle Koch to replace him. He proved he's not a centre in Sask, but he's a serviceable guard. Exactly. The only way he's playing centre is out of desperation. He can't snap the ball consistently.
  20. Couldn't believe he said that on the radio, and right after he said he doesn't want to get fined for talking about refs. Heard of tampering?
  21. What's wrong with his mechanics? He's a little slow on his reads (we don't appear to be doing much pre-snap), but he can make the throws from the pocket and on the move without having to wind-up. He's been making better decisions the last couple weeks in terms of getting rid of the ball too, save for pushing too hard in the 4th quarter in Regina. I'd like to see where he's at after half a season.
  22. Not sure if that would be a concern for me as long as we are addressing the need by way of the draft, free agency or what have you. Rome wasn't built in a day, our o-line won't be revamped in an off-season. Look at it this way. If Parenteau is still on our roster (top 6) next season, that basically means none of our OL prospects panned out. Why couldn't Greaves, Swiston, & Pencer all be on the roster at the same time as Parenteau? We need a starting guard, a RT, and an upgrade at C (likely difficult with Ottawa). Parenteau is a very shaky centre in terms of snapping, Swiston and Pencer should fill the starting RT or G position and 6th OL depending on how we deploy our ratio. That leaves a possible starting guard spot that we'll have to address through trade or free agency if we go with 4 NI's. My assumption is that we'll go with 3 NI's and 2 IMPs with the talent spreading out 9 ways. If Parenteau is starting for us in 2014, we're in trouble, he's a below average player, although many of those will exist on rosters next season with Ottawa coming in, I believe the addition of Parenteau was made to finish this season not for next season.
  23. There are two starting NI LB's in a whole league. Your alternative to Muamba is another NI receiver.
