  1. There will likely be flexibility barring injury to go to 3 imports if things got hairy on the OL.
  2. 3DownNation sucks. Almost their entire "top 20" remain unsigned. Clearly their perception and that of CFL GM's are not in sync.
  3. Demski is a for sure starter. Konar is a role player. If he's starting they are in big trouble, as their D was last season.
  4. Wonder if Jake Thomas ends up back here.
  5. Konar got a $300k deal over 2 years. My prediction. He’s a free agent again next off-season. That’s an absurd contract for a very average player.
  6. Ya that one is a bit of a head scratcher to me too because they didn’t seem to like him all that much as a DB. He’s probably making six figures or close to it. He’s a good returner but not a great one. You’d think now Demski takes punts and they use Flanders and someone else on kickoffs, maybe Demski or an import receiver who takes a DI spot. Bombers could reasonably start 5 or even 6 NI’s on O this year so lots of roster flexibility. I’d like to see them add another receiver and a fullback/tight end. Lots of versatile guys who can take snaps and hopefully keep everyone healthy.
  7. Nice collection of NI’s on offense this year with still moves and draft picks to come. Hopefully Harris can take a few fewer reps.
  8. Feel like Fenner is SAM insurance or they are anticipating Leggett starts season on IR. That’s a lot of DBs.
  9. The secondary will be very different.
  10. I wonder where they see Fogg lining up. They must have a role in mind for him otherwise he wouldn’t have signed before free agency. IMO he had a pretty unremarkable season as a DB last year and while I do like his punt returning it would be nice to add a guy who can do all returns and be dangerous anytime he touches the ball.
  11. Sounded like Durant had basically been told he'd be doing it. I'd be interested in a guy like Fajardo both as a developmental guy for #3 and because of his ability to run short-yardage/option package. LeFevour ran an option package that was used several times a game last season that was pretty important to the offense. You really want to push indictments, don't you?
  12. Probably one, hopefully Demski. Still the draft coming and Wolitarsky. Coates can play too.
  13. Well if the option is going with Taylor Reed at high 6 figures or what we have plus rookies....I'm going with what we have. Larry Dean is really the only guy that interests me of the big money LB's.
  14. That’s fine. For the number of snaps he played for the Bombers last season when healthy he was overpaid. Basically got to a point where him and Corney were nearly splitting snaps 1:1. I don’t think he’s going to be an every down player again, at least on a good D. There are cheaper options to fill rotational roles on the DL who can play very good as well. There’s actually many options in free agency and then the draft.
  15. He is very overrated. Edmonton’s D was pretty horrendous. Recall the Bombers offense feasting on their LB’s including Konar. Konar isn’t a guy I’d want out there on D anymore than the Bombers have used a guy like Briggs the last couple years, but he’d still be the best Canadian LB on our team if we signed him. And you need some guys to play roles because you can’t run the same 12 out there every down.
  16. If I were the Bomber GM, I'd have offers on the table to (and expect to sign 5-6 of these 20): The rest (in order of priority): Larry Dean Kirby Fabien Demski Jake Harty Roy Finch Mrabure Zack Evans Craig Roh Adam Konar Cody Fajardo Lafrance Alex Dupuis Owusu-Ansah, corner from Argos Steele, Gill (if I struck out on all the other NI DL I've mentioned) Our own: Westerman (no more than $150,000 with some upfront) Thomas Heath Normand Hurl
  17. Torn tricep.
  18. 100 percent right. He didn’t get found smoking a joint on a patio. He was found transporting a controlled substance across an international border. You’d be in **** doing the same with alcohol or tobacco.
  19. Nope. Switched because Coombs and Lafrance were in the same backfield and they wanted to get all of them on the field.
  20. Bighill also played six seasons for the Lions. Wilder's choice not to play and everyone has to respect that....but if it's an end around on a contract, sit out one year and try the NFL next he can't possibly think anyone is going to respect that. The Argos and CFL owe him nothing in this respect, and him running to the internet like this probably doesn't help his cause to get his release.
  21. Little more than half a season of good production and you pull this? Wouldn't have room for this guy on my team. Lots of good backs around.
  22. There is no bigger picture at #2 QB. This team is being constructed to win the Grey Cup in 2018.
  23. Hopefully Ekakatie can take more snaps. You could have a pretty good interior rotation with Ekakatie/Nevis at nose, Poop/Thomas at DT if Ekakatie is up to it. Then you have Corney to take 30ish snaps at end as well. If Westerman is back you have another starter between him and Corney, likely rotating with a couple American ends.
  24. Harris? IMO they'll be set up to "start" 3 on D and 5 on O this year, but will probably have at least 5 on D that take fairly regular snaps.
  25. Calgary seems like a team that needs a backup to me. BLM is coming off a pretty tough surgery/rehab. Buckley and the rest looked like garbage outside of the Hamilton 62-0 game.
