I've got some chicken thighs marinating in a chilli-honey sauce, corn soaking in salt water, some local beers in the fridge, gonna hit the bbq at halftime. Perfect Sunday of bomber ball and food lined up ... and good ol wbbfan runs a halfback blitz right into my appetite. thanks bro.

CFL - 2024 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
johnzo replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Hamilton is on pace to give up right around 600 points this season. That's worse than the 2005 no-DC cover-zero Bombers but not quite all-time bad -- the record is the 1991 Roughriders, who gave up 701 in an 18-game season. -

Hamilton is like Kursk Oblast: no defence. -
they're one of those heartbreaker teams that's like always 2-3 good plays away from winning each game. They look like they can compete but they usually come up just short.

Harris was full value against a premium D. Riders are a way different-looking team with him ... lose pretty instead of ugly.

Entertaining game. Been a good CFL week so far.

yup

Two major penalties against the Als after the three minute warning. Terrible.
-
that was a Collaros-like scramble and throw

Good Commentator Lapo: breaks down passing concepts crisply, makes me smarter. Bad Playcaller Lapo: "I always run on 1st and 5 and then again on 2nd and whatever!"
-
that's a good way to start the third quarter ... five minute TD drive. though watching the Acklin pass in the air, I thought the dude was going to get killed by the safety. that looping rainbow pass into the middle of the field...but Calgary did not make him pay.

stoked to see an entertaining CFL game. last weekend was pretty brutal. 2x stoked to see Masoli back on the field and playing like he belongs. Will always root for a guy who's coming back off a gnarly injury, will root harder for a guy coming back from multiple gnarly injuries. I can't imagine how much starch it takes to rehab an achilles. Lapo's been great although he picked a couple bad spots. Like after Masoli badly underthrew a wide side out, Lapo went on and on about how JM can throw a ball really well without having the laces gripped right. talking in realtime about something is hard even for an expert.

I am so bad at this that was a terrible spot on the Riders 2nd down play. the receiver retreated three yards before he was tackled.

con: ugh probable roughrider win. pro: at least this ass game won't get OT.

nice long FG drive. Crum throwing microdinks and minidunks but that might be enough on this rainy night.

Call it what you want … you need to move on from Collaros

I'm not so sure. Brown has had a clean pocket and some pretty good receivers to work with in Ottawa. Dunno if he'd be any better at coping with the adversity Zach is facing in the short term. -
Set up for Scooby-Doo but pivots to Styx. That's the best play action I've seen on MBB. I change my Happy Honker call from God to bb1.

140 touches in 8 games. 17.5 a game. He's getting more touches so far this year than he got last year (16.7) or 2022 (12.5)

Man I still dont get why BC completely ignored their run game last night. Seems like a few draw plays might've gashed our 3-man front bad.

GDT - Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Toronto Argonauts

We've started nine or ten different receivers this year and we have some matadors at OL ... and somehow our QB is struggling? What is up with that? -
I think any OC who loses four of his top five receivers is gonna struggle a bit.

my picks: 1. the bombers 2. the crowd 3. the rum hut HH God who made it all. Crunch of the game: the Big Bang Block of the game: the collision that formed the Moon.

did we run any four-man pressure without Thomas? What I saw was that the sacks we got from our three-man pressure were coverage sacks -- Adams could not deal with us dropping nine and he danced around the pocket too long. Would've liked for Biggie to wrap up on that sack he got, he just kinda bounced off Adams and someone else had to finish the job. I don't get why BC completely abandoned the run -- they were in second-and-long constantly -- Stanback only had three runs in the first half plus a wobbly catch. Seems like in earlier games this year they were establishing the run more... I'm with Booch on the Case vs. Smith question .. Smith seems like he's got burst that Case doesn't have.
