Not Etcheverry. Hell, I'll take Creehan over this guy & that tells you how bad he is.
C'mon, enough with the hyperbole. Creehan has had the worst D in the league by a wide margin for two years running. At least Etcheverry has some mediocre defenses to his credit; the one in Saskatchewan in 2009 was fourth in points allowed.
-
What I remember from his D in Saskatchewan was that it was super nutty, huge risk, high reward, about a 40/60 mix between the good kind of WTF and the bad kind. He sure kept the TSN crews entertained.

I think everyone was tired of Palardy's 35 yard kick-offs. Of course that was with a stiff breeze behind him.
Sandro was no hell at kickoffs either. He managed just 7/10 of a yard better than Palardy. Both lagged the rest of the league by a good five yards. And Palardy's longest FG of the year was a yard longer than Sandro's.
We shoulda kept Palardy.

Why would Edmonton protect Willis over Sherritt?

I'll always remember the great Lobendahn-style strip from behind play he made on Durant in the Banjo Bowl.

iso, that's fair enough. Everyone working for the BBs now got promoted into their current job in 2013, most of them within the last two weeks.
Man, if you lose a game for every rookie you start, how many games do you lose with a rookie HC, a rookie GM / front office staff, and a rookie president? I think we're gonna need to be patient here...

For all the Jones love going on you gotta remember that 2 seasons ago Gary Crowton had his defense absolutely guessing.
I think our performance in that game was more about Jones starting an out-of-shape Adriano Belli at DT and less about Crowton's offensive wizardry.

Hmm, I thought Dan LeFevour would have been on this list, given that he signed in 2012. Wonder if he was extended, or if he was originally on a three-year deal.

The sled jumps were amazing
The best GC tweet I read yesterday was something like "That snowmobile guy has more yards through the air than Burris does."

I'd be shocked if Hamilton re-signs Burris, and outside of Ottawa I believe his chances of being a starter next season are minuscule.
If he's not in the league at the start of TC, I bet he's back by midseason as an emergency replacement somewhere.

I love this crazy league of ours and this is the final game for six months. Plus it's my birthday and a bunch of people are taking me out to the Canadian bar here to watch the game. Plus I'm entitled to an entertaining Grey Cup after a year of shitty Bomber football.
There's a Canadian bar in Seattle? Where-abouts?

They have peameal bacon sandwiches!

At the hockey bar here in Seattle, there's like four tables of rider fans here. Nice to be around cfl fans again.

Oh man, I missed that the Stamps announced that Glenn was not a free agent after this season. My bad.
-
Thing with Ottawa is it's pretty much a given they take Kevin Glenn. With Glenn in Ottawa I can't see Collaros signing there.
Running through all these scenarios in my head, factoring in Ottawa and Hamilton, one of these 4 QBs will be on the Bombers in 2014: Collaros, Burris, Glenn or Tate.
Why is Glenn to Ottawa such a sure thing? He's a free agent next year so if the Redblacks take him in the expansion draft, all they win is an extra few weeks to "exclusively" negotiate with him.
The only QB with starting experience who is signed for 2013 and likely to be exposed is Tate. Everyone else is a free agent. Ottawa's QB1 is going to come through free agency. Anything can happen in free agency.
Sometime after the Grey Cup we need to have a QB carousel prediction thread.
-
Nah, what I get outta that article is that Barker's screwed. I think Collaros, his agent, and Walters are all working together and trying to save the Bombers from trading too much to get him. He knows he's going to Winnipeg, so he's trying to maximize the deal for them. If he doesn't sign with the Argos, then the Bombers get him for next-to-nothing.
This is a done deal, IMO...
You really think so? You think it's not just about Collaros wanting to find out what the market will bear?
If he's only thinking CFL, then the only team without a starting QB is the Bombers
Ottawa and Winnipeg need starting QBs in 2014. Hamilton, too -- Burris and LeFevour are both free agents.

Kinda hoping for a game killing PI call on Anderson but heart's not set on it. Any 'ol victory will do.
A huge PI call on Anderson would be cool, but I find his trademark 20-yard double-objectional-conduct meltdowns more entertaining to watch.

People who don't want Tom Higgins: why not?
He's got the exact track record we want. He's a Grey Cup winner (2003) and he cleaned up Matt Dunigan's mess in Calgary in 2005, going from 4-14 to 11-7 in one year.

Re: Cortez: imagine how good his TiCats could have been if his DC wasn't Casey Creehan.
It's not often that the top-scoring team in any league also has the worst record in that league.
I prefer Higgins but I'm definitely intrigued by Cortez' offensive skills.

Austin isn't an outstanding coach IMO , he was lucky to win last week and called a horrible game.
Really? What would you have changed about how Austin called the game?
Would they have won by more than 12 points if you had been in charge?
