  1. Lavoie was the rookie of the year before the back injury... Lavoie wouldn't have won rookie of the year. A fullback doesn't win it over a 1,000+ yard receiver. I think they said he is distantly related to him. His grandmother or great-grandmother's maiden name was Swayze. and no one put her in a corner either.
  2. it also would be nice if the O-line could give him more than 1.5 steamboats to pick a target and throw. Hall was rushing almost every throw as on almost every throwing play there was a free Alouette coming at him unblocked. I know that this may have been "designed" - but to just let a guy run at our QB unblocked on almost every play? Really?
  3. Yeah that was my recollection as well - that both INT's were the result of illegal play by the Montreal defence, and wouldn't have occurred if they weren't breaking the rules. I'll go back and review, as I usually watch a Bomber victory many times to bask in the glow of victory, while losses are quickly deleted from the PVR. Needless to say, I haven't re-watched a lot of games this year. iirc on that play shea emry (41) twisted around the intended receiver as he was running by him. Ref probably didn't catch the whole number on the jersey and came up with 11 instead of 41. yeah it was blatant PI, was my memory.

  5. I'd take Collaros or Demarco over Burris. Yeah yeah he's "awesome" and "gives us the best chance to win right now" but I just can't stand that whining jerk. It was like when the Bombers signed Roy Dewalt in the twilight of his career. It was hard for me to cheer for the Bombers seeing someone I couldn't stand while he was in BC now donning a Winnipeg uni. Same would go with Burris. I guess winning games again on a regular basis would soothe the pain....but still...
  6. Both of the int's were taken away by blatant pass interference calls, which, if the receivers hadn't been interfered with, they probably would have caught the ball. There's reasons to doubt Hall, but you can't say that the INT's were just "taken away by penalties" - they occurred due to illegal acts by the Montreal players.
  7. Montreal. On Monday. I don't plan to eat any turkey before hand as I probably will just be vomiting it back up again during the game.
  8. the hits just keep coming...
  9. You do make a good point. I just end up shouting at the TV "why didn't you do that when you were our coach" during the first segment of half time when Randorf comes on with Lapo, and Lapo gushes over the "creative play-calling" of whatever team is winning.
  10. which 3? Kelly is long done. Lapo is done after this year. So we'll just have Burke and Burke's replacement in 2014 to pay.
  11. I think it's a matter of "I care too much", so I just can't watch the games anymore. It would be like watching your faithful dog get kicked and beaten by hooligans while you are tied down and helpless - it would hurt to watch that for sure, and that's how I feel watching the Bombers this year. There's nothing I can do to stop the beatings, so I'd rather just not watch at all.
  12. Willy plus a pick - 2nd round - and this is done and done.
  13. I can relate. I'm not a big fan of the situation either....
  14. I don't know much, but I do know the fastest way to screw something up is to let government run it. They'll be still arguing over their climate change policy, and how many disabled trangendered Asian people need to be on the board to be ensure no discrimination, while the team has given up and moved to Saskatoon.
  15. I forgot to add that on the next play after Reilly got his head smoked, when he was in the shotgun he totally bobbled the snap. He was probably seeing three or four footballs at the time. How he made that TD throw is amazing, given he was on another planet at the time.
  16. I watched that TD throw that Reilly made on the next play, he just kind of threw it up and let Chambers catch it, then he stumbled around wondering what sideline to go to. He was completely gone, his eyes were totally unfocussed. I just can't understand what they are doing in Edmonton.
  17. Dave Campbell ‏@Dave_CHED1m @Kelowna.... If he's cleared to play by doctors, case closed as I see it. Dave Campbell's response to my tweet saying it didn't make much sense to force him back into action.
  18. not sure how wise it is to rush your QB back into playing only a week after he took such a horrible hit to the head. I watched that hit, downright awful. Not sure how Reilly got up from that.
  19. Dave Campbell ‏@Dave_CHED10m Mike Reilly taking the first team reps in the walk through portion of practice this morning
  20. And Burke two won cups in Montreal as DC. But I hear you on Jones. That guy is a total son of a be-yatch, much like Cal Murphy used to be.
  21. Bad sign that people get a whiff of this poo show and bolt. This season cannot end fast enough. not too swift on the uptake? he apparently has am NFL sniff and didnt want to commit to a 1 + 1 deal.. Oh sorry I missed that. Other then it being mentioned in this thread. Which is of course the same as official confirmation. Are you sure you're not a member of the Winnipeg media? Your instincts to jump to the negative conclusion in every circumstance is something they value and cherish.
  22. The Esks have the luxury of two QB masterminds currently looking for work - Mike Kelly and Gary Crowton - capable of designing packages and coming up with plays to make sure Reilly is more protected from now on. Oh the surfeit of riches of available talent!
