  2. http://jam.canoe.com/Television/2017/01/19/22698367.html Cousin of George Clooney!
  3. I read O'Leary's book. Other than saying she was a bleeding heart he was actually very positive about her.
  4. yikes - she's not pulling any punches! I hope he's not as horrible as she portrays.
  5. When I saw Connor here in Penticton, I didn't think he was ready. Of course, I thought that of Ehlers in 2015 too, so what do I know.
  6. Good thing he's not from the Baltics, as our guy doesn't think they are a "thing".
  7. Isn't the official end of the season marked by the annual recall of Patrice Cormier?
  8. I'd rather he bring in Rick Tabaracci. No reason. I just like saying "Tabaracci".
  9. Time for some 6 am bag skates...
  10. 2-0 - looks like another dough-nut coming our way...
  11. I complain that I wouldn't want to skate around with that thing on my face? Come on man. No, I just say that I don't understand why you would do it, as it looks ridiculous and if you actually bothered to back-check and work up a sweat, it would be horribly uncomfortable. I can see why Thornton wouldn't have that problem, though. Also, we are playing the Sharks today (coincidentally I suddenly have a safety meeting that got mysteriously scheduled at 1:00 pm in the board room) so why wouldn't we want to chirp these stupid inbred morons? Oh, and I don't like Joe Thornton. At all. And that was pre-beard.
  12. Perhaps Guy and I are just old-fashioned... http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/article/canadiens-legend-lafleur-calls-burns-thorntons-beards-a-disgrace-for-hockey
  13. I am not sure why I have to explain this but sure, too hot is one issue. I just don't know why you would voluntarily choose to play hockey at its highest level with a giant mass of wet hair on your face, when you could choose to not do this instead. I get "playoff beards" (though I have never seen one as big as Thornton's) if you are superstitious and don't want to shave, but that's just a short time frame, not an entire hockey season. Anyway, it's my opinion, take it or leave it.
  14. I get chopping down a tree with a beard. I get doing lots of stuff with a beard, including leading your army in an attack on a Confederate position in the Civil War. I just don't get how you can skate around with this gross sweaty beard on your face, unless of course you are Joe Thornton, and rarely if ever work up a sweat.
  15. that may be acceptable for a few years as the giant government bureaucracies that were created under Obama are scaled back/dismantled. The EPA was completely out of control in the US. Way too much power for an unelected body. Kind of like the UN in that way.
  16. That's been my experience with local politicians of almost every stripe. Our Conservative MP was a nice guy. Our new Liberal MP is a nice guy (though his office is right across the hall from mine, I can say that he sure isn't in Kelowna much). I feel for them when their leaders are the ones that are the targets for a lot of anger, and they have to smile and nod and say "I know what you mean" and eat a lot of poop on behalf of their party, even though they are just the face of the party in your area.
