  1. Nope. I guess I just wanted to post this as it doesn't seem to be getting much attention, and I am curious as to why. When you look at what's going on in Europe right now, with all of the sexual attacks at swimming pools, perhaps people in Canada need to be aware about them, or perhaps not, I don't know. It's been interesting to see the reaction though to this story on various forums I follow. A lot of visceral reactions and anger that this is even being reported on by anyone, with the excuse that other sex crimes aren't reported on so why is this one making head-lines (though I think six girls being molested by one guy in one day is pretty news-worthy). Is that right, to just cover these stories up completely and not talk about them at all? I don't know the answer to that one, so that's why we discuss these things.
  2. http://www.torontosun.com/2016/07/03/misbehaving-syrian-students-are-a-federal-problem As to why feminists aren't doing anything about the treatment of women? It is totally bizarre, I agree.
  3. I don't think the families of those six girls think this is "minor".
  4. The point though is that from what I've seen, the illegals committing the crimes are people that have been caught and sent back over the border multiple times. There doesn't seem to be any way to stop illegals from coming back over the border and so the Border patrol in the US feels helpless. http://www.latimes.com/topic/politics-government/government/chuck-grassley-PEPLT002489-topic.html
  5. Look what's going on in Europe. I would say that you should start at water-parks, and protect them from everyone.
  6. I didn't know much about Warren before but since she's been mentioned a few times I've done some research. She seems to definitely be cultivating the personality of someone who is fair and wants to take on the establishment. I would hope that she comes out with some less radical more electable policies than Sanders. Every time I tried to do the math on Bernie's spending policies I couldn't make the calculations work. Especially since the US is already $20 trillion in debt. You can't dramatically increase taxation rates and expect the tax base to stay static. This is always mistake number one when preparing these models. The tax base erodes or just moves their capital structures elsewhere. Actually Canada would have been a huge beneficiary of a Sanders government. Trillions would have flowed over the border, though I do think Sanders vs. the Republicans controlled houses would have just ended in one big stalemate.
  7. yup bullying her at the hearings on Sessions was a dumb move for sure. Everyone knew Sessions was going to get confirmed, so just let her talk, do her thing, and then move on.
  8. Dumb as rocks. A bit harsh no? These are our neighbours we're talking about. Some of whom make a living in our fair city playing their hearts out on our football field for our entertainment.
  9. OK, I will let her know that. Just wait until we get Sarah Palin as our ambassador! It just gets better and better!
  10. OK thanks for that. I'll ask my friend what she thinks of this. On another note - more intolerance from the "tolerant left" today...this makes me sad... http://www.theblaze.com/news/2017/02/08/tim-scott-reads-bigoted-insults-tweeted-to-him-for-supporting-sessions-nomination/
  11. Do you have stats to support that statement re the decrease in Illegals? Just curious where you got that information from. I can ask my friend regarding the Democrat vote, but first the initial premise that somehow the Obama administration reduced illegals has to be proven. And then the point would also have to be made that until Trump came along, no one was even discussing illegal immigration, let alone solutions to the issue.
  12. A 39-year-old man has been charged in connection with several sexual assaults that occurred at the West Edmonton Mall World Waterpark over the weekend. Police were called to the waterpark at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Officers allege a man followed and inappropriately touched six teenage girls while they were swimming at the waterpark “It’s fairly shocking,” EPS spokesperson Scott Pattison said. “It’s involved and traumatized six individuals and their families.” Pattison said all six girls were under the age of 16. “The girls were very courageous in coming forward and talking to the lifeguard, that’s not always the case,” Pattison said. Soleiman Hajj Soleiman, a Syrian refugee and father of six, has since been charged with six counts of sexual assault and six counts of sexual interference.
  13. I will ask them. I don't think they will agree with your assessment that he's the guy making USA policy. I also don't think that they would concur on your assessment vis a vis the racism, misogyny and bigotry you profess exists.
  14. Yes, I think that was part of it, but my one friend I just quoted seems to be more concerned about the border and the flood of illegals across it. I think the Democrats just ignoring that issue was to their detriment. As Canadians we are kind of sheltered by the US acting as a buffer for the illegal immigrant flow over the border. I realize that you guys are having a hard time with Bannon, but most of the US people I talk to don't know who is and care even less.
  15. Here's one response I received when I asked a Trump supporter I know, directly, your exact question: So there you go. White nationalism? I don't know.
  16. why don't you ask some Americans yourself why they voted for Trump. I think they would bristle at the very concept that they support white nationalism. But it's their country, so you should ask them, not me.
  17. I get it, but yet the people I know didn't vote for Trump for any of those reasons. I think those are invented reasons by people who don't want to accept the fact that the Democrats alienated millions of people in the US. It's much easier to just call all of those people alienated by the DNC "stupid" and "dupes" and "racists" rather than look inwardly at what they did wrong, and what has to change to make their party electable. Right now the DNC is in a complete shambles, and seems to be moving backwards rather than forwards. Here's one guy who was solid DNC through and through, and now he's walking away. He explains why in this video. You can call him a "racist" or a "bigot", but I don't believe that he is alone.
  18. Not sure who these shy Trump supporters are, but I think most Trump supporters out there are just keeping quiet. There is no point wading into any discussions as they are just shouted down, much like they were during the election itself. And if you bother to show up at a protest to show any support you are hit in the face with pepper-spray or smoked in the head with a flag pole. As I've said before, America is quite fractured right now, and both sides seem to be doing their darnedest to ensure that no healing is done whatsoever, as there appears to be zero interest in even trying.
  19. The people I know who voted for Trump aren't racists, and I find it offensive that all people who voted for Trump are being generalized in this way. If you want to know why Trump won, this is one of the many reasons, the generalization that if you don't think and do as you are told by those who think they know best, you are a bigot or a racist or insert insult here. And it looks like those who were stunned that Trump won didn't learn a thing from the loss, and are still pointing fingers and making excuses rather than trying to grasp why they lost. Stop making these kinds of generalist statements about people just because they didn't vote the way you wanted them to vote. It is a losing strategy. Building bridges rather than burning them wins elections.
  20. http://thefederalist.com/2017/02/06/16-fake-news-stories-reporters-have-run-since-trump-won/
  21. That's a slippery slope though because it would then allow the Administration to sue the shit out of the media every time they post blatant lies. Trump gives up enough fodder on a daily basis to report the straight goods, but that hasn't been good enough for some over-zealous Trump-hating reporters out there. Every time someone like Josh Rogin of the Washington Post goes over the line it just legitimizes Trump's claims about fake news, and then he just tars everyone with the same brush. The "real" news gets lost in the shuffle. This may actually be a strategy of the Trump team, but it's a shame that so many in the media are falling into the trap. http://www.dailywire.com/news/13176/list-washington-posts-josh-rogin-has-big-fake-news-john-nolte
  22. yes, like here in BC, where they stupidly put the HST to a referendum (and made it 50.1% needed instead of 66.6%) and we had to go back to the PST after spending billions converting to the HST. What a cluster-freak that was.
  23. I thought this was pretty funny...
  24. http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN15G43U?il=0 Here's how the UAE sees the travel ban.
  25. I am not sure how Milo's speeches are comparable to someone posting images of the President in a target, but I for one don't really care. If that's how someone wants to express their hate, go for it.
