  1. Tyrone Jones didn't set any records (though I wonder about his sack totals) but he also was something special. I doubt Rod Hill gets that many INT's unless a QB is pooping his pants all night worried about getting smoked by a linebacker who just never stopped coming.
  2. package him with Hutch? I think Poolman is ready to make the jump full time.
  3. I believe they can be waived at the option of the player.
  4. I witnessed some of these records being set, including the night Fred Reid went wild in BC. He had another TD in that game that was called back because he had gone off the field earlier with an injury and was supposed to be off for three plays, and was only off for two. He comes back on after two plays, scampers for a TD (probably got enough yards to break the all time record too because it probably was for at least 30 yards) and Wally throws the challenge flag (because the refs missed it), and ruins it. Oh well. Couldn't blame Wally on that one, though it was too bad.
  5. hmmm....when would that have been? I remember when Jets 1.0 started in the NHL in 79-80 the Jets had the tandem of Brian Swain doing play by play and Pit Martin doing the colour on CKND. Not sure how long that lasted before CBC was doing the games. I remember only being able to see the Jets on Saturdays, if they were playing another Canadian team like the Oilers, Leafs or Canucks.
  6. Bruce Hood, former NHL ref, died yesterday of prostate cancer. He was the ref who had to deal with the "Good Friday Massacre" in the good old days of the Montreal/Quebec rivalry. I really hope Quebec gets an NHL team again some day. https://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2018/01/05/bruce-hood-renowned-nhl-referee-dead-at-81.html
  7. The fact that you are getting so defensive when I was just making a joke indicates to me that yes, you took this a little personally. If I ever beat you again, I will not mention it. Oh look, the deathlist is out. Herman Wouk is #3. Olivia De Havilland is still alive? Who knew? Who is Leah Bracknell, and why is she expected to die so young? https://deathlist.net/
  8. ha ha yeah - Kirk Douglas better watch out! Wow I didn't think she'd take it so personally too! iHeart, don't worry, this can be your thing. I was just amazed because every other single time I've seen news of a celebrity dying you've usually posted about it hours beforehand. It's a testament to your commitment to reporting celebrity deaths that I am honored to have finally beaten you.
  9. Someone teach Ehlers how to score on breakaways. It's getting beyond ridiculous.
  10. Still remember losing in Bantam provincials to Killarney. They skated around the ice with the trophy making obscene gestures at us and our parents in the stands as we were lined up waiting for our silver medals. You sure are capable of pretty dumb class-less stuff at that age. You hope that as you get older things change a bit.
  11. Sweden definitely thought they were going to win that game. They sure complained a lot too during the game when taking those stupid penalties. That one kid Dahlen stuck his leg out and tripped the Canadian guy, totally blatant, and he was still whining about it. Then he destroyed his stick on the glass when he got beat by Formenton on the empty-netter. I knew they'd be sore losers.
  12. Can't believe I finally beat Iheart on a death notice! Jerry Van Dyke - from Coach. ****'s little bro. http://www.tmz.com/2018/01/06/jerry-van-dyke-dead-at-86/
  13. yes we definitely need another Teemu in Winnipeg. I think someone should talk Laine into changing his first name to "Bobby" while we are at it. Dale Schiefele has a nice ring to it too. Morris Wheeler?
  14. It still wasn't as bad as when Canada beat Russia at the World Champs a few years ago and the Russians just left the ice and skipped the ceremony. Never seen anything that class-less at a world level event before.
  15. Montreal wanted that?
  16. or asked for RNH. HA! Just kidding.
  17. heard the Bears and the Birds are telling him to try out. And if there are any strangers on the Mountain.
  18. Isn't she a dentist or something?
  19. 2070 - 90 year old Kevin Glenn signs on to the Halifax Mooseheads for one day to retire as a Moosehead....
  20. If Glenn signs with Edmonton I believe that he completes the set and will have played for every team in the league, or at least been a member of every team. That has to be a league record, that I don't think will be broken in any of our lifetimes.
  21. Don't think that's the last time we're going to hear Dennis Beyak mentioning Vesalainen's name...
  22. Hutch for Ladd!
  23. Maybe Vegas needs a goalie for their Stanley Cup run.
