  1. Buck whispering in O'Shea's ear every day "Keep Jackson on the roster for next year, I'm designing some special plays for him"....lol
  2. LOL If Boatman is a locker room cancer as some speculate then he'd be welcome in Regina... Riders say no to Bombers' Buck Pierce (msn.com)
  3. This whole Corey Perry/Connor Bedard story really is getting weirder by the day....rumors on Twitter that he hit on Bedard's mom? I don't know. What a way to end a career anyway.... Blackhawks say Corey Perry engaged in unacceptable conduct and move to terminate his contract CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks said Corey Perry engaged in unacceptable conduct and took a step Tuesday toward terminating his contract, the latest twist involving the veteran winger who was mysteriously scratched and sent home last week without explanation. The Blackhawks in a statement said an internal investigation showed Perry acted in violation of his NHL Standard Player Contract and their club policies "intended to promote professional and safe work environments." Chicago put Perry on unconditional waivers and said his deal will be terminated as long as he clears Wednesday. The team has not given any indication as to what Perry did to warrant these actions. General manager Kyle Davidson on Saturday said Perry would be away from the Blackhawks for the foreseeable future. “It’s been a team decision so far to hold him out, and that’s about all I’m able to provide,” Davidson said at the time. Davidson is set to address Perry's situation at a news conference Tuesday afternoon. Agent Pat Morris did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment on the Blackhawks' intent to terminate Perry's contract. Over the weekend, he said in a statement that Perry had stepped away to attend to personal matters. Perry, 38, signed a $2 million contract with Chicago for this season with $2 million in potential incentives. An 18-year veteran known for his leadership, the Peterborough, Ontario, native won the Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007 and became the first player in league history to reach the final three consecutive years and lose each time with Dallas, Montreal and Tampa Bay from 2020-22. The Blackhawks brought in Perry and fellow forwards Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno to surround No. 1 pick and 18-year-old face of the franchise Connor Bedard with experienced players who could show him the ropes in professional hockey. Perry is on his way out of the organization after 16 games, while Hall is out for the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee. 4. I guess all of that house hunting in Hamilton during Grey Cup was enough for Walters to decide "what the hell was I thinking...I better unplug from JBR and stay in Winnipeg".....
  5. 4 out of the top 5? Which 5 are those? Darian Durant doesn't have more cups than Kenny Ploen....
  6. Glad to see Herb has so far survived his bladder cancer and is still fighting. He's a good writer and the CFL needs all the good writers it can get.
  7. This is why I just stay off of social media. My dopamine hits come via CR, not social media lol.... At least for the Als parade they probably will have a big turnout as that city appreciates a winner, and they only have two professional teams. So much better than the fake Toronto parades where everyone is standing on the street dazed wondering who these players are and what sport it is that they play. I would hope that the new owners, who have deep pockets, will build off of this fluke of a win and do something about their home stadium. Percival Molson was built 110 years ago. The ownership has to decide if they want to keep playing in an antique of a stadium or go back to the "Big Owe" where you just don't get the same atmosphere unless you can attract at least 30 - 40,000 fans, and that stadium is also falling apart due to the corruption of the 70's in Montreal and the inferior materials used to build it. Either way, time to tap into some serious government money and get some infrastructure built/refurbished in Montreal. Same with Calgary.
  8. BLUE NOTES: Rasheed Bailey has no regrets after sacrificing money, health to help Bombers play in Grey Cup | Fort McMurray Today
  9. The Ar-blows are one giant locker room issue. And it all came to a head in their year-end implosion.
  10. Zach lost in the dome in BC in 2014 with Hamilton, but they were playing a pretty good Stamps team that year, and they almost did win it if it wasn't for that flag on Speedy Banks punt return.
  11. BLUE NOTES: Bighill and Schoen say it was right decision for them to play in Grey Cup ... Bighill says he was 'covering up' on Als' touchdown ... Brown ready to be starting QB (msn.com)
  12. fair enough. Not sure if Wally even tried to sign him....point is Wally moves on from players...we don't see to be able to do that...and it just cost us a ship.
  13. time to hire Wally Buono to come in with a chainsaw. He cut Bighill years ago, and here we are still draining every last ounce out of the guy. Wally never had a problem telling vets it was time to go. I just don't think O'Shea is the guy to do it. You can't really have it both ways unfortunately, being a "players' coach" and also the guy who has to make the tough calls that wind up with you looking like the bad guy. I faced that in several companies I worked at, with bad employees who needed to go. Some guys just don't have the stomach to do it, no matter what, so I always had to be the "bad guy" who had to tell Larry that his constant tardiness was a drain on morale and that he was going to have to hit the road. Guys want the "President" or "Coach" title, but they don't want the bad stuff that comes with it, that sometimes includes firing your friends. Not sure why that is because in the end by not cutting their throat you are in effect cutting your own.
  14. FRIESEN: What was Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea thinking? (msn.com) Posted this in the Grey Cup thread as well but not sure most here want to go back to that thread...lol...
  15. FRIESEN: What was Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea thinking? (msn.com) For once I can't really argue with Friesen here. He's basically just cutting and pasting content into his story from this site, from what I can see.
  16. I counted it up and I get 26 appearances since inception of the team. Then there were two appearances by the "Winnipeg RCAF Bombers" in 1942 and 1943 but not sure those count.
  17. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have made the most appearances (26), while the Toronto Argonauts have won the most championships (18) and have the best record in the Grey Cup composite standings (18-6). Despite the CFL's brief U.S. expansion era in the mid-1990s, the Grey Cup has never been played outside of Canada. The Baltimore Stallions were the only American team to appear in the Grey Cup (twice, losing in 1994 and winning the following year). List of Grey Cup champions - Wikipedia It's Wikipedia, who knows. I just don't think the Bombers have been in 30 Grey Cups, but I'll happily retract that statement if I'm wrong.
  18. I'm no math whiz but the websites I visit say the Bombers have been to 26 GC's and won 12 of them. You've got them going to 4 more GC's then I remember reading about or seeing. In my lifetime I've seen the Bombers go to 12 GC's, and win five of them. That's not great. The problem is if we had "reclaimed the Throne" we look like King Viserys from House of Dragons....time to get a lot younger, very soon.
  19. Maybe he will head back to Finland to go play with Poolparty...
