  1. For the last x years every Bomber loss has been accompanied by a week of dissecting the 4 or 5 plays that we coulda gone our way to give turn our losses into wins. Most of the time it was nonsense and when I said that, I was called a troll. This week, I'm being called a troll for bringing up the one play that was the turning point in the game & someone said I'm only here when we have a bad game. Neither is true. I think we lose if Grymes makes the pick 6. Assuming we stop them from scoring any more points, we still need to score a TD and a FG or 3 FG's to win. I doubt Mourtada has 3 FG's in him in 10 minutes. The 1 TD we did score was right after the Grymes drop which wouldn't happen. Others think we would have scored at least 8 to win anyway. Some folks think troll means doesn't share the same opinion as others.
  2. Calgary looked like the Calgary of old last night because BLM looked like the QB he once was. Calgary's definitively on the up swing. Gotta agree with others that they are the #2 team in the West and that they should host the semi. (Now that I've said it, watch the Riders go on a streak.)
  3. We have 3 viable options: Give the job to Leggz. Trade whatever we have to to get a good FG kicker from another team. Pay big bucks to one of the FG kickers waiting for another NFL chance to play for the rest of the year here.
  4. I didn't say we're lucky to be in 1st place. I said we coulda lost 2 games that we won due to mistakes other teams made, not great plays our team made. I asked if those 2 games were luck or not. I'd call them 50-50 games so I'd expect us to win one and lose one, but we won both. The game totally changed on that one play. It was a 14 point difference. One of our big plays was a 45+ yard reception right after the missed pick 6 when we, rightly, picked on Grymes who had just dropped it. That play doesn't happen if Grymes could catch. Why would you assume that we'd score a TD and a FG in the last 10 minutes while they didn't score any points, when we only scored 3? Edmonton is a bottom feeder for a reason and one of those reasons is they can't make the big play when it's given to them. Give any other team, not named the Redblacks, that chance and they'll make the play 99 times out of 100.
  5. I didn't say the other game was last week. It was the Calgary game. One of the two worst teams in the league coulda won if a DB simply catches a ball thrown right to him. Why? Cuz the blitz got to Collaros. Teams that are better than #8 will see that and use it. The Grymes pick would have been a 147 point difference. 7 for them. -7 for us. The drive afterwards never would have happened. The Bombers would have scored 3 points instead of 10 which wouldn't have been enough, I'm not suggesting the team is on the verge of collapse. See my earlier comment.
  6. Get used to Mourtada. MOS will keep him for the rest of the year. I just hope he doesn't cost us a playoff game. Missing Hardwick caused huge pass pro problems. Brady O was great and he better be, cuz Harris' injury looked bad to me. Adams has regressed, but Bailey and Lawler have progressed to the point where it doesn't matter. If Grymes could catch, we'd have lost the game. Edmonton D showed the rest of the league how to beat us. Blitz, blitz, blitz and blitz. This is the 2nd game we should have lost, but didn't. Good teams win ugly or just getting lucky?
  7. I'd give up a first for Ward. FG's are this teams only weakness right now. We've got excellent Canuck talent. Losing 1 additional one won't hurt us.
  8. I've watched the Bombers since the early '60's and this years defence is likely the best I've seen.
  9. If the offence hadn't scored, we'd still have beaten them 6-3. That's how dominate our defence was or how bad Edmonton's offence is.
  10. It doesn't matter if it's psychological or physical... Missing is Missing!
  11. In my day that was called DINK's.... Double Income, No Kids.
  12. MOS saying that Roosevelt's done great things in the league and he's progressing is like other coaches saying, he's done. If Roosevelt can't beat out McKnight by now, it's time for the window or aisle seat talk.
  13. I use the Agree and Disagree a lot. Can't be more succinct than that and I think the Bombers are the best team in the league. Can't be more positive than that. If you want to go back (I can't be bothered), you'll see examples of both in the last week. To be clear... won't.
  14. I can and I do.
  15. Single car accident ups the ante. When I was young, drunk driving was something everyone did. I'm sure I was over .08 many times after the bar, but I never had an accident. The Bombers handled it quickly and professionally. Once is a poor decision that doesn't equal alcoholism. Lets hope that's what it is. A mistake is a mistake, sometimes, it's also a learning experience.
  16. Duke is a great add for the Riders. Makes them more dangerous when we play them again in the western final.
  17. Collaros is THE difference between Winnipeg being an average team like they were last year before he started and the dominant team they are today. He's the QB that some around here thought that Nichols was. The one who changed our teams destiny.
  18. Calgary had a great 5 minutes at the beginning of the game and managed to ride those 14 points to a win. 2 successful on side kicks, one called back, against didn't hurt them because the Riders tried to go deep into double coverage on third down. Bo got hurt yet again. Calgary is a mere shadow of it's former glory, not the biggest competition in the west. That's still Regina.
  19. BC doesn't really need another game changing receiver. They need an upgrade at RB and OL. Toronto's already blown the budget this year. Hamilton might have the money and they're contenders. I'm gonna guess he's coming home to the Elks.
  20. Reilly will take the hit to make the play. He beats the blitz with reads and release, not by running. Blitz him and Whitehouse will have a big game. Send 4 and cover.
  21. Leg strength is nice and all, but I'd rather have accuracy.
  22. Burn-em and Whitehead can kill our DB's if we give Reilly time to get it to them. To do that, IMO, they'll have to establish the run, and I haven't seen them do that this year. BC lives and dies on the big play. Bombs and speed on offence. Picks and pass break-ups on defence. It will come down to how many 50-50 balls they complete on offence and how many picks they get on defence. I like out chances.
  23. Suitor aside, the kids played great.
