This is certainly not one of those years - we'll be happy to finish by the end of May.

If they have that kind of money, it will just get lost in the shuffle when they deposit the cheque, won't make a bloody bit of difference to their finances.

One really has to wonder about all this money being sent out. For those in dire straits, $500 is not enough. For those that don't need it, it's just extra pocket change. It would be really nice if they could do better than a 'one size fits all' approach.

See, now no one will condone his statements, no one will say "that's just what rockstars do." Yet, with those hockey players this week, there was willingness to say "that's just what hockey players do."

I guess stuff like the SCN Lavalin scandal and the things we hear about ridiculous spending - have made me skeptical.

Sure, better than the American system. But the whips pretty much insure consensus within the party.

If we want to discuss a system that lacks checks and balances - look no further than a Canadian Prime Minister with a majority.

I would call him the Don Cherry of politics, but that would be an insult to Don Cherry.

He is only suffering because he had more to lose than most people do. Honestly, when I started teaching at 25, I would have fully expected to lose my job, had I been exposed saying stuff like that.

Yes, we’ve seeded some veggies, but no field crops yet.

I see that as part of the problem in today's society. If someone is racist, homophobic, or say, anti - semitic, that is viewed as inappropriate and is usually dealt with severely. Yet, other offensive things, such as in this case degrading women and teammates, are seen as less serious, because so many people do it and it is an ingrained part of certain cultures. Hopefully people get to a point where they are just disgusted with themselves.

Most businesses still send bills in the mail, plenty of cheques too.

Meanwhile, most of my American friends / contacts are complaining about the 'unconstitutional overreach' by their state governments. They don't get it, and many truly do see it as a conspiracy and fake news. Or they live in a state where the governor has not taken any measures at all. I honestly have no idea how some people sleep at night - they live in a world where someone is always out to get them, and reality is never reality.

Normally we would be seeding our crops by now - global warming, where art thou?

Inconclusive. The predictions are for a polar bear population decline by the middle of this century - although it is nice that the bears had a good winter. As for the Dr, she is now free to write more for the Heartland Institute.

I certainly will not defend the fast food industry, they can look after themselves quite well. Most ground meat is very tasty, but the way it looks coming out of the grinder is anything but appetizing.

Sure, sausage, weiners, et. al. have a grey colour unless you add colouring or use reddish coloured salt. Trust me on this, it’s the same with the homemade ones, it’s just the colour you get when you grind up pork or beef.
