My picks for stock up / stock down this weekend ... Stock up ... DB Derek Jones - fast 40 yard time and he performed well in the one on ones. Teams wanted to see him line up against CIS guys coming from a NCAA school and he held his own DL Quinn Smith - dominant against the OL in drills, he won every single snap he took. Stock goes way up. LB Jesse Briggs - stood out as a mostly unknown against a strong LB group, very impressive testing numbers Stock down ... DB? Adam Thibault - fastest in the 40 but he's a guy without a defined position and he got hurt before scouts had a chance to try and give him one LB Max Caron - speed was a concern coming into this weekend and he tested poorly. REC Kris Bastien - came in as arguably the #2 receiver behind Devon Bailey and failed to seperate himself from the pack

Montreal Combine is finished ... Have to be honest, it's a pretty sad showing. One guy that really surprised me was Laval receiver Julian Bailey. This guy was considered a top 10 pick in this class a few years ago, but it turns out he hasn't qualified as a non-import yet. He still participated at the combine as an import today and ran a 5.12 40 yard. Expected better. At first glance, I didn't see many guys whose testing numbers would earn them an invite. Quinn Everett would be one, but to me, you'd have to earn an invite based on the interview if you were anybody else.

The problem with PI in the CFL is that nobody calls it the same way. There doesn't seem to be a proper definition that all referees follow when making their judgment on a play. Unless they look at that first, it doesn't matter if they can go to video replay or not. It's still going to be inconsistent.

I've known Robert since he was in middle school. Extended family...brother in law. He's a good kid and is so very focused and talented. I won't pretend to know much about the CFL rules and the game in general but from what I've seen, it's a pass oriented league and the QB should have a strong arm and good mobility which are both strengths for Robert. How's the Offensive line in Winnipeg? Receivers? RB's? Offensive line is weak, although some people around here will make it sound absolutely abysmal. It's below average with the ability to perform above average on an inconsistent basis. Receivers should be very solid. Lance Moore's brother plays up here and was 4th in the league in receiving last year, we signed him as a FA to play inside for us and we also have a couple other guys who are capable of 1000 yards. Plus, there are always imports who come up here and make an impact as rookies. Running backs is tough to say ... our main guy right now is Will Ford and he was a divisional all star last year but he only really had a full time role half the year. I personally don't see him as an every down back, some others might. We might have a rookie at the tailback spot.

Hey Rids ... quick question for you. What's the deal with Aaron Picton and Sam Sabourin? I thought they were draft eligible but they're not attending the combine. Any reason? Actually, while we're at it ... what's the deal with Karl Lavoie as well?
