  1. Asked a couple people this morning who the number one target for Winnipeg will be tomorrow. Answer was the same every time. <----------------------------------------------------------
  2. LMAO at one of the comments. Kane, Scheifele and Morrissey for Kessel
  3. There's no sense in filling every hole we have in free agency. These guys are going to want upfront money. Trust your scouting. We need a LT - I want experience there, get Bryant. We need three linebackers, maybe four if you want a DI - Fill one or maybe two holes here to get some experience. We need a receiver - If the price is right, sure. Otherwise trust your scouting. We need to have breathing room for rookies to come in and make impacts as well.
  4. Not sure where you'd get the comparison between Reilly and Brohm. Brohm is nowhere near Reilly status. Brohm isn't even the best FA QB available. He's the third, MAYBE fourth (depending on if you favor Sunseri, which no doubt some teams would) best QB on the market and he's thrown exactly zero touchdowns in the CFL. Would you want Walters to trade for Brohm as a pending free agent at this point? I sure wouldn't. Oh, and he's all of 6 months or so shy of 30.
  5. Jones name didn't come up as often as Heenan because Taman announced that Heenan was testing the market and because it was widely assumed that Jones would either go NFL or re-sign with the Stamps prior to FA. However, there is little doubt that Jones is a HUGE fish in a small pond. He will be the highest paid OL in the league for whatever team signs him. 300k? Yea....that's a number that could be realistic. Can't see 300, he is too young to get that high that fast. He'll have no where to go from there. But definitely agree he will be the highest paid Olineman in the league this year. I think 250-265 gets it done. Why is he too young? By all accounts, he is the best offensive lineman in the league (I personally think Stanley Bryant is the best lineman in the league, but Jones' resume says Most Outstanding Lineman 2014 so he gets the nod) and he's got the right passport. If he wants to let offers flood in, he's going to be the highest paid non QB in the history of the SMS era. If anything, his age works in his favor. 250-265k was Heenan territory. I'm not saying Jones signs for 300k because I don't necessarily think he's a "I'm going to the highest bidder" kind of guy, but I would be shocked if he doesn't get at least one offer than starts with a 3. Josh Bourke, at 31 years old, hit a contract of 215k annually last year. When he signed the deal, the salary cap was 4.4 million. His deal = 4.8% of annual cap max. Brett Jones, at 24 years old, would be earning 5.9% of the annual cap max in 2015 if he signs for 300k. 1.1% difference for a guy who is 7 years younger, getting better and already has been declared the best OL in the league? I don't think it's unreasonable at all.
  6. Jones will get offers starting with a 3 if he hits free agency.
  7. Ray doesn't do the forum thing anymore, but he's still a diehard Bomber fan. He's even got himself a Feoli-Gudino jersey.
  8. Much better than Brett Carter, but not as good Nik Demski IMO. The comparison I've always used for Goodrich is Johnny Forzani.
  9. I'll be in the chatroom if anyone is interested in joining tomorrow. I'll be around all day starting at 11 AM EST (an hour ahead of free agency opening) See you there.
  10. What do you consider notable?
  11. Edmonton is a team that will make some noise as well
  12. I asked Ed Tait - the reason he listed Kurt Goodrich on that article is because the Bombers asked him to. He'll be in camp. Great news.
  13. Not really.
  14. Quite honestly if one of Rogers / Bryant isn't a Bomber I'll be shocked. At this point, I'm expecting us to go after those two and Jackson. Maybe Wojt but who knows what his deal is, his camp has been incredibly quiet.
  15. DB Johnny Adams from Michigan State and OL David Mims from Virginia Union http://bluebombers.com/article/bombers-add-DB-and-OL
  16. Bona fide Me First football player too. Pretty pathetic display during the GC & afterwards. #gottagrowup Get used to it. Its the 21st century athlete ...Our boy Toews says hi.... I wouldn't be so quick to anoint him a golden boy. He's not the nicest guy either from a lot of accounts.
  17. I don't really think it passes for confirmation at all, seen as how he favorited my tweet about coming back to Winnipeg as well yesterday. But that being said, he's clearly resigned there.
  18. If all of a sudden Bilukidi or Mulumba fall in our lap, we're laughing. Anybody know how likely that might be? I haven't heard much, but wasn't one of them outta PR time...? They both are, which means the clock is ticking. The odds are in our favor of them being on our roster (both of them) by 2016 for sure. Bilukidi probably first. His games played numbers have dropped every year - from 13 to 7 to 4 and he's recorded 10 tackles in 3 years. His PR time is gone. He's going to be a fourth year player, which means he's roughly 200k more expensive than a rookie who can probably offer a similar impact.
  19. If all of a sudden Bilukidi or Mulumba fall in our lap, we're laughing.
  20. An offensive line of Bryant / Greaves / Picard / Wojt / Daniels next year would be a big improvement.
  21. Nothing I've seen to indicate he wouldn't be back.
  22. REC Toney Clemons out of Colorado (former 7th round pick in 2012) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5ZlTljJXjw DB Demetrius Wright out of USC (we knew about this one) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4284CpsLVcw
  23. I guess this basically summarizes... but I'm wondering if Rids can provide a comparable or where he projects to be drafted?? Too early to judge where to place him in the draft, I need more info. He's got a lot of options as he originally went to Penn as a DL and played as a freshman there. Transferred to Michigan State and also shifted to offense. As a blocker he's a throw back fullback. Makes great plays on the linebackers to open up running lanes. If a coach was interested in running a big formation especially in red zone moments he'd fit right into that. On the plus side I'll have an interview with him in the Guide. If he goes to the combine, it'll be a good opportunity for him to show where he fits best. The Bombers need a guy like that though, Pontbriand is getting up there in age.
  24. Looks like Kane had a date with the Roxy.
  25. Wojt is better than Neufeld by a considerable margin, imo.
