  1. I going into this season would have loved to have rolled with Gray / Chungh (I like his style of nasty) because for as consistent as Neufeld was last year, he does have a bit of an injury history and our depth along the line is going to take a bit of a hit this year (in terms of guys ready to step in).
  2. Is it certain Chungh is gone?
  3. Yeah, I don't get the the hard line on JSKs part to be honest. He played well last year and really did start to come into his own .. was also exposed a fair bit as well .. he had a great Sophomore year playing alongside one of the leagues best (if not best) middle linebacker. Would have loved to see him back in blue and gold, for the sake of continuity and to see this defensive unit continue to gel. Nature of the business though.
  4. Yeah .. I was just thinking this. What signal does that send to any prospective player (let alone coaching candidates) about the immediate future of that team .. of their potential future with that team? Hired to be a stop gap for a single year .. no thanks.
  5. As a moderator, I see no harm in speculating and if people want to share what they 'know' or what they've heard .. so be it .. like anything, take it with a grain of salt and don't treat it as gospel.
  6. I had to take a sick day after having Mexican draft once .. wait .. what?
  7. Fogg is too much like Demond Washington for my taste and he's not a guy that I'd prioritize when looking at our free agent list.
  8. There were a number of games this season that were there for the taking and if one phase of the team (*cough* offense *cough*) had bothered to show up and play a full 60 minutes we'd likely have a win or two more under our belts. It's the bed we've made for ourselves and now we have to take care of business over the final two weeks of the season. I'm hopeful. It appears we're rounding into form. We can gripe all we want about Saskatchewan's luck, their record and the giant number of ****** nozzle's on their team but they've put themselves into the post season by taking care of business. In the end, it doesn't matter HOW you win, only that you did.
  9. Given he’s a product of Wally’s system I can get behind that.
  10. Michael Bishop 2.0? All the physical tools but questionable football IQ.
  11. Alexander has been excellent this season and his play is really underrated. I’d argue he’s one of our best DBs and losing him would be a blow.
  12. 8-7 after starting the season with our starting QB on the shelf isn’t a terrible record (especially when you look league wide). Sure there are a few warts and I’m far from satisfied with the compete level, the consistency and performance week in, week out but I’ll take it. Just have to get to the dance. After that anything can happen.
  13. Did he only play the first quarter?
  14. No. I said Nichols played it safe. LaPolice's play calling is always going to be what it is (generally conservative). And which drive are you referring to .. the one that lasted four plays before we had to punt? We started near midfield or on Edmonton's side of the field most of the game. The one long drive that DID start on our 34 ended in a Nichols turnover and took points OFF the board for us (drives and starting positions: E28, W6 (four plays, PUNT), E54, W55, W53, W53. E26, W20 (2 and out), E25, W34 (2 and out), W34 (Interception), E41.) By and large, the offense didn't do a whole helluva lot. They operated on a short field and were largely unimpressive when forced to come out of their own end.
  15. The defense played a great game. Nichols played a safe game and it was far from spectacular but it's all that was needed on Saturday. Let me just ask a simple question and this isn't about Nichols per se but was there *anything* about the way the offense played that made you believe that if Edmonton started to roll and started to score quickly that we'd be able to dial it up, change gears and keep pace? If you're honest with yourself, the answer is no.
  16. Bombers hold his rights and I seem to recall reading something (in the last day or two) about him 'having options' and there being 'ways around it'. Take it for what it's worth.
  17. Also .. Jets season is right around the corner .. push comes to shove, many Winnipeggers will decide to allocate their entertainment dollars toward a night at Bell MTS Place.
  18. Not all targets are equal. Let's simply say that of the catchable balls Adams has had thrown his way, he's dropped more than he should have.
  19. Hochuli retired from the NFL this past year .. no longer a referee.
  20. I'm always an advocate of letting guys play through things (you can't have someone looking over their shoulder, worrying about job security, and expect to get the best from them). That said, Nichols hasn't played particularly well at all this season. It's not just a quarter or a half of football - we're talking games - and it's becoming a detriment to this team. With Streveler, the offense is more dynamic, is more difficult to defend (he spreads the ball around to everyone) and is simply more versatile .. LaPo just needs to stay out of his own way, hah! In the end, I'm not going to get too worked up over the regular season. Yes, it's more fun to sit through a win than a loss but we've seen time and time again that your record means NOTHING if you make the playoffs and at that point, anything can happen. Not writing this team off yet.
  21. Santos-Knox needed to get off the tackle and make that play.
  22. The whole team has to come out ready to play and keep playing the whole 60 minutes. If they get out in front, they need to keep piling it on. To hell with laying back and protecting a lead. Against Ottawa, they got punched in the mouth and never responded. This is going to be that type of game and the Bombers NEED to hit back or it’s going to be a very long afternoon.
