Appleton and Lowry just don’t have the offensive skill. Ehlers was doing all the work, offensively. Schenn is a game time decision. Hopefully Stanley has his head out of his ass, after his worst gaffe of the season. But I guess it doesn’t really matter what he does… He plays. 2 points would be huge tonight.

Ehlers had a hell of a game. Everyone actually played well…. Tenacious and relentless on the puck. Good win.

Yeah, and that line, that has had all kinds of trouble producing offense, is now our 2nd. And they’re diluting what has been a good 2nd line. We’ll see what happens…. I don’t see it working…. Certainly not long term.

I understand what Arniel might be trying to do and I get that you’re not agreeing with the moves…. I just can’t understand why these are the moves that he came up with. Blowing up the 2nd line, IMO, is a mistake. Especially when you put Appleton in for Perfetti.

Yeah, I can understand the spark part, but Appleton on the 2nd line?? The 2nd has been one of our better, consistent lines…. Why mess with them? You want to boost the 3rd line, which has been the biggest issue? Move Tanev up there and drop Appleton.

I don’t understand these line combinations for Washington. Why mess with every line because Vilardi is out? Appleton on the 2nd makes me want to punch a hole In the wall. Hopefully a bounce back game tonight. I really, really don’t like the 3rd line being reunited… Specifically Appleton. But I’m not paid to make those decisions and I knew it would happen, so no surprise.

3rd line again. Appleton coasting. Make a change.

Fleury is having a bad game, as is the 3rd line. Appleton isn’t an NHL caliber player. He just isn’t.

Love when Ehlers cuts into the middle like that.

Unreal that Connor missed that opportunity. He’s scores there 99 times out of 100.

Would love to see Appleton dropped to the 4th, at minimum. He does so little…. but I’d be shocked if it happened.
