The problem was that there isn't a lot of alternatives. Walters needed to show some backbone knowing that no one else would pay more than 500k. However if it had dragged on, it certainly would have made it harder to attract free agents without a legitimate qb under contract. Unfortunately, this was a year where there was no other starting qbs available. The other factor is that we were able to resign our own free agents to have one more crack with this core at the cup

No matter what the cap is, or exemptions there is no way a cfl team can compete with the nfl financially. It would just drive up payrolls

I thought Jenkins and Jaworski showed a lot of promise in their brief appearance last year. People also underestimate Lawton He's more than decent - especially if he has some good linemen beside him You know Ceresna is going to draw some double teams allowing other dl to shine

Lamont is a player that gives us options, hed played safety corner and halfback
If we decide to move Allen to corner Lamont could step in at safety. If we pr him.he could back up several positions. At only 27 it should raise the competition level as well. Really a low risk signing

Really? I don't care if you're the 5th option, 12 targets still suck. And they tried to bring Corcoran in to help block on end arounds etc. and he wasn't good there either. If he had shown anything in terms of making a catch in traffic areas maybe he'd have shown more potential.

But you are right in that really the 5th receiver behind Wilson, White Demski,and Nield doesn't need to show much, but the issue becomes when a Nield or Demski goes down and Corcoran has to elevate his game, nothing I've seen says he can do that

I don't know why we aren't playing Clercius more inside almost like a tight end on some sets. With his size could be beneficial unless he can't block, then we also have a coaching issue

Theres a reason he was only targeted 12 times. Very few of those were contested catches . For Corcoron to be effective he needs to learn how to block

Yeah but I really liked Allen at safety, Entering his second year hes gonna be even better. Playing Kramdl there unless we need to for ratio reasons makes us weaker
