You don't think that Osh is in Walters ear continually.....lol....don't be so naive....It looks to me sometimes that they've been together so long they work on on one brain

Blue28 got a reaction from Stickem in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadI am increasingly concerned that roster management and poor decision making will continue. Camp better not be a summer camp - and the Bombers better be prepared to move on from players during camp. Worse than 50/50 they wont.
-
I have the same concern right from the extension of Osh....Walter's got rid of some the dead weight and garbage....but Osh also still has control of roster after that...and He runs camp...and picks his roster, and how it's used...Not sold on anything being different until I see it, and sadly right now not holding my breath on it

Just move on already
-
This seems like a not good move when you've got Shay and Smith needing reps....
-
Yea I was thinking more understanding the game better at the CFL level.
And while I'm at it I really hope we utilize our 2nd string QB this coming season more than short yardage snaps. I just can't get over the absolute relunctance in doing so. I'm not suggesting pulling the trigger everytime ZC struggles, I'm suggesting being way more strategic with the back up QB other than hat on backwards signaling in plays trotting out onto the field for 3 and inches fall forward and being ready to go if ZC gets blown up.

wallace played the best of our guards outside of vanterpool. It was his first full season and first time being a semi regular starter. The fire is pretty far from his feet.
Eli, is the one who needs to step up most. After that, it’s bryant. We have a good few imps to push him, and we are going to see some very good imp tackles hit free agency.
Wallace is more than fine if he continues his progress at the same rate.
imo, upfront money is the way to get him and at a good over all price.

The only thing i’d add to rigmaidens comments is, it’s not coming. it’s already been here. And it’s nil+ nfls expansion of pr and pr compensation.
We already don’t see the guys who have any real success at good schools. We’ve lost first and second pick over of the former pipeline schools like bigsky, basically once a qb is 4/5star in hs, we’ve lost out on an opportunity with them unless they fully crash out of the nfl or blow all that money. Even then, the usfl is more attractive to those guys despite the less money.
the days of 80-90k qbs with some upside is over. I think a second salary increase should partly be used to split the cap with qbs. The floor needs to be 150-200k for us to attract the talent the league desperately needs.
Teams should have a floor 1million on ar qbs. It’s an investment in the league and game it self. 500k for the starter, 250-300k for qb3 and 200-250k for qb3. If your top tier qbs are earning 750k-1million each, instead of 500-700k you have a much better ability to attract young qb with upside talent and success.
Yeah. Allen to corner, kramdi to s and griffin to sam would be awesome.
pretty much just sergio to re up now

Nice..this is a key signing...one of the have to have back ones in my opinion as he just coming into his own...he physical..one our better tacklers...can play any of the db spots and guys dont realize hes 220+ pounds..and can cover...hed make a solid WIL too if given the opportunity...and was our best SAM last yr
-
I just think we need waaaay more from our Dline including our Defensive ends. Way more if we want to change the narrative to how we want to be known as a D coming into 2026.
-
Well now that the deadwood is removed....it's Tui's to lose....Pretty sure he'll step up
-
still....people here say playoffs is a success...so if a success....does that not mean a "crap" team as per OP?
Just going off narrative here that peole claimed we were sucessfull last several yrs due to the playoff thing...when people were discussing ridding ourselves of Osh
dont think he will be heathy and ready to start the yr....Hopefully we learned from the Schoen fiasco of rushing a guy back...especially an interior lineman who will be in constant threat of getting his knee crashed down on in the melee that is line play
yeah....if/when healthy he will be a key piece for rotation and jumbo packages both sides of the ball.....shedding Kolo and Thomas also frees up close to 300k used elsewhere...I know Kolo made 150k lastt yr...I sure thomas wasnt below 120k
-
Moving on from Kola is another good move by Walters.
-
Schmek, improved before his injury, as a back-up rotational piece with Lawson, combined with his play on Jumbo packages, he is a perfect fit IMO. I could be wrong but I don't think he will be ready for the start of the season anyway......
Kola moving on and Thomos transitioning into coaching, in conjunction with signing, mostly Canadian starters thus far has been IMO a great offseason start...
-
This is the feeling I'm getting too with this move. Like "Hey you stepped up when we were in a tight spot, it didn't work out but we don't want to cast you aside because of it"
-
I never even had an issue with Jake as a player, in terms of talent... He was just used far too much in later years. In his younger days he was more than serviceable. In more recent years he was fine in a limited capacity but Prime Doug Brown minutes was asking way too much.
-
Hope not. Not perfect of course but Holm brings the whole package on and off the field.
-
If there is no limit on marketing money, we should give Brady 200,000 (if he's coming back on a 300,000 deal) and give Zach something similar. Exploit that rule because we have the money.
-
That would be a game changer. If his cap hit was only 100-150k, I'm taking that all day.
-
What if $150, 000 to $200,000 of that is marketing $?
-
A few thoughts....
Something seems "off" with Jackson to me, The Edm situation, then missing all of TC and even with him here our QB and offence was the worst it has been in a long time, not real discussions about him.....I don't know just something seems off to me
Philpot would not be a player I would target...while he has flashes he is in the tub just too much and it will take Demski money or greater to get him....
Mitchel...oh boy, hopefully he get's his life figured out, his future is more than just football...He really did not work out for us....
That FA list is so premature...but it does have some great O-line and D-line on it I would love to see us be in on a top prospect if one does make it to actual FA...Hutchins would be a dream...and I would pay almost whatever for the guy, but I don't see him in the CFL for a few years at best...but one can dream,,,
A couple tough decisions IMO on a couple of our own CDN's in BO and Kramdhi, while they are both "ratio" busters, they are also really expensive....
Better CDN receiver talent is a spot we need, Demski is great, but older and somewhat injury prone, Clercius seems to have taken a step back in his development, Corcoran is a fine depth piece.....I hope one of the higher end Cdn's make it to FA, just not Philopt as described above why.....

Creates too much tension. Better to make a clean break.
