Collaros has never really vibed with a receiver like that.
More Darvin Adams, Greg Ellingson, Bailey, Fantuz.
Get some big possession receivers (height and core) and a couple guys that are legit vertical threats.
Wheatfall is a good fit, Clercius is a good fit, Demski is fine as a 4-5 guy. They are missing 2 out of top 3 receivers right now. Schoen isn't worth talking about because he's clearly playing at about 70%. There's going to be no consistency there this season.
I agree. I think for the rest of the year Wheatfall and Clercius need to be the 1-2, Schoen I’m afraid while not *toast* won’t ever be what he was.
Demski is a good 3rd /sometimes deep threat, but again he’s never going to be healthy for a full season. It’s always going to be an ankle or something, especially with the way they beat the **** out of him with the close to LOS/RB type stuff they use him for. He just can’t be a consistent top option at this stage of his career.
Mitchell is a big unknown but I have to imagine he’d be able to do more than Sterns in this kind of offence. Even as a field stretcher like they used Pokey Wilson last year.
Add: Having Kody Case and Gavin Cobb as the only receivers on the PR is a catastrophic fail by the organization as a whole- Tracker, BigBlueFanatic and Booch

Yeah we don't really have the receivers to beat zone in any way. Not much YAC. Demski and Schoen are busted up from old/ongoing injuries.
I've liked Wheatfall on some screen/hitch looks into the field.
Our QB doesn't really run quick stuff. But IMO at the moment we have one receiver out there who is a consistent battler for 50/50 balls, and that's Wheatfall.
Just a mess the past couple seasons trying to fill a couple receiver slots to build an offense.
That’s why having Sterns on the roster just baffles me. We don’t use quick crossers or stuff like that. We need taller downfield threats with long arms.

You don’t win a lot of games in the cfl with your qb averaging 5-6 yards per pass. Padded stats throwing short of first downs.
Offence was hot garbage too. They were pretty garbage too I agree, just things like 2 pick 6’s, that holding penalty on their opening drive, Brady slipping and falling twice, the dropped passes and the missed TD throw, aren’t going to happen every game.

If luck went the other way the offence could have made it a much closer game honestly.
The D however played like plastic grocery bags full of leaky puke in the first half, that’s what got it out of hand.

Even put Terry Wilson in. Strev doesn’t need the injury risk either right now tbh

Honestly, the only way they go anywhere this year is if a higher up forces MOS to make changes.
Whoever told him to sit Willy down in 2016 needs to have a similar convo about a few areas of this years roster.First and foremost, Jake Thomas needs to go (as we all know) maybe Vaughters too, at least get a real 3rd end on.
Sterns is the poor man’s Kelvin McKnight. How could Mitchell possibly do less?As much as I wanted Vanterpool on for the run game after week 1, the drop off from him to Wallace isn’t enough to make it worth using an import spot.
I like Parker in general but I’d rather see him in Bridges spot and Jake Kelly at safety if it would mean making DT an American position besides Lawson in rotation.

The refs are the farthest from the reason we’re losing this game, but all the same this line judge shouldn’t be anywhere near professional football.

How in the **** was that not a stop on 3rd and short?

TSN in all its gimmicky glory with this garbage. How many times are they going to show fatass Henoc racing a guy in a cow suit?

I saw it after the previous catch, but not in the endzone…. Hopefully it’s not an issue, but yeah, might as well hold him out of this crap show. We have lots of receivers anyway, right? Ugh.
I guess we’ll have to see what Lane Novak can do in that spot.

I haven’t felt that a game was over this early in many years. They’ve got nothing going at all right now.

Why would Osh put Zach back in with a nearly severed finger tip sewed up & most of his throwing hand frozen in last year's Grey Cup? The decision was a disaster. Why would he play four players who were too injured to play in 2023 & had no business being on the field in the Grey Cup? Because Osh coaches with some kind of warped coaching code that he uses. Instead of playing Wilson or Dolegala, he throws Zach back in who tells the team in the huddle he's in trouble as he can't throw the ball. Then a year earlier, he plays injured guys like Bighill, Alexander, Schoen & Demski in the GC instead of his backupsd at least compete. We lose.... And Noeller wonders why poster here ask questions??? I don't blindly go this is The Trinity therefore they can't be questioned.
Oh I agree with all that too, just personally the 22 game angered me the most of the 3, by far.

I can't believe we're still doing this to ourselves... Over and over with the GC losses. Christ.
Zach buggers his ankle in the WF in 23. Zach shreds his hand in 24. Both total flukes and changed the situation dramatically. And injuries to Bighill, Schoen and others are absolutely massive to the outcome.
But honestly... We need to move on. It's 5 straight Championships of the toughest division in Canadian football. Anything can happen in a one game, winner take all. All good, yo.
23 and 24 I’m a little more ok with. 22 will always be the one that pisses me off. There was no excuse for losing that game and it all turned after that stupid, stupid call to have Prukop chuck it down the field. Buck has any sense in his head at that point and we would have a 3peat, won in Regina of all places. I’ll never get over that one.

Hiring these coaches with no prior head coaching experience... That has to stop. A guy like Mark Killam rose to the level of STC & then stayed there for 20 years in Calgary being passed over for HC jobs year after year. There was good reason for that as he's not qualified to be a HC. Instead, strangely the Elks hired him (probably as he came cheap) & now he's enrolled his qb in the Edmonton Elks Quarterback Academy... where improvement is more important than wins. Where, "We almost won" is considered a moral victory. Meanwhile, the team expects fans to shell out money for a qb in Tre Ford who can make some great plays with his legs & arm (at times). Just not when he has to, to win a game. While the Elks say "Improvement!!, the fans in Edmonton on social media are saying, "Why should I spend my money on this ****??" As well as, "Same old, same old!" I can see the Elks going 4-14 this season missing the playoffs due to the stupid philosophy of the team.
The ratio & putting Canadians on the OL.
Our coach was a ST coordinator with no prior head coaching experience.

1. MOS/coaching staff. Just woefully unprepared in every aspect. The entire team had a lackadaisical mentality like the game would eventually just work itself out. From starting a guy with the flu at defensive tackle to not being able to use a challenge in the most blatantly obvious situation. Playing dink and dunk down 3 touchdowns. Just baffling decision making all around.
2. The DL, this partially falls on roster makeup but Willie is already gassed out at week 5, Vaughters was a flat-out bad signing and Jake was good depth a decade ago.
3. Collaros. 2 pick 6’s and panicked and overthrew a wide open receiver on a sure TD.
Crappy Honker- Randolph takes a brutal holding penalty on the first drive of the game which more than likely took 6 off the board.
Non-Bomber crappy honker- The line judge who was giving Calgary extra full yards on multiple occasions.
HM
Devin Adams had a good game when he actually saw the field.
Brady had some nice runs when he wasn’t falling down
Clercius.
