It's an upgrade but not a solid one. Just his history & struggles with the run games as OC in Hamilton & Ottawa makes me wary. They better ttell him if he comes to Winnipeg, the offense goes thru Brady Oliveira not Nic Demski... But if they're choices one & two for Zach this may work. I'm hoping we sign an impact OL in free agency.

An upgrade in the sense that a kick in the ass is better than a kick in the junk.
Not super excited, but obviously anything is better than what we had this past year.

I think bringing this UFL all star guy in negates us bringing in a known commodity back up. QB3 will be some kinda prospect.

Artopoeus? I’d still like to see them bring in an experienced 4th (5th if Elgersma makes his way here) QB for competition.

UFL MVP or not, I don’t like the idea of half a year before the season starts, handing the backup job to a QB who’s never played a down of CFL football.

Is it just me or does it seem counterintuitive to pay up for the "ratio breakers" with the way O'Shea uses his roster?

Don't get me wrong, I know the CFL is all about how good your Canadian talent is, but part of me thinks there's no point paying 250k+ for a star Canadian RB/DB/WR/whatever because we aren't maximizing our roster with the ratio to play the most American talent anyways.

With the way MOS just plays 8-9+ marginal Canadian starters and rotates in 3-4 more, we'd almost be better off with 10-12 good but not great Canadians and save our money overpaying for the Canadian starter at a non-traditional position.  I wish we would utilize the fact that we have the luxury of a Canadian RB by using the extra American on the DL or OL, but instead most games we just trot out 7+ more Canadians at the regular spots too...

They want the extra draft pick so they can squander it on another jobber.

Dolegala...an experienced to an extent starter was healthy too

Dolegala not getting a chance in that game perplexed me the most. Absolutely would have been better than handless Zach.
Sure, he’s not the greatest but he’s capable of winning games. Hell, he had a win against us the year before in the LDC did he not?

    THIS

Reminds me of the dark days of our receiving corps when we were pretending Rory Kohlert was a legit receiver. Back then the Bombers had an excuse,....years of poor GMing. Hmmmm.....

Besides Shoen and to a lesser extent Pokey,  the track record of scouting American receivers by this regime is by far the worst in the league. It really needs to improve this year.

I don't know, man...if losing three Grey Cups in a row with a chance to turn it around on the fourth...at home...isn't enough of a kick in the ass/motivator I don't know what is.

Yeah, really the kick in the ass should have been after last year. The 24-25 offseason was the worst of this era.
They’d better get busy quick now, can’t afford to fumble **** around until February again.

100 agree... I'm happy he's staying... but nervous about who he wants to stay with him... please, please, please no Jake and Kolo...

and as much as I still see a role for Willie (and even Vaughters)... If I had to choose those two or the two raw rookies we saw in game 18... I'll take the rookies

Willie is one of my all time favourite Bombers, and even I can see that he needs to be more of a complimentary piece at this stage of his career. I’d like to see him stay on in that role but we need to have new guys as the primary DE’s.

  8. Big no on Kent Austin from me, last success he had in the league was nearly 20 years ago.
Hamilton was **** when he was there, plus he comes across as kind of a jackass. Never been a fan.

I’m not completely against bringing in someone with HC experience If MOS leaves but I’d rather they bring in someone who’s had their finger on the pulse of the league sometime recently, and preferably not old enough to collect CPP.

I was bummed mid way through the season when I realized that this team wasn't going to make it.

I thought maybe if they could back into a home playoff game they might be able to ride some momentum.

When they lost to Edmonton I resigned myself to the fact that they just weren’t good enough this year.

I was looking at the 2021 CFL all stars. The Bombers dominated the west with 15 (4 this year for comparison) and the thing that is really crazy is we had 6 out of the 9 available spots on the O-Line and D-Line, and not a single player this year in either of those positions btw, it all starts with the complete overhaul in the trenches, to me there’s not a single starter that should feel 100 percent safe on both sides of the line except in my opinion Cam Lawson.

    I’d add Randolph too

I don’t necessarily think that’s entirely fair to say. It’s going to be a long road back personnel wise before any coach (O’Shea included) has success here.

Despite what O’Shea thinks, we need a total overhaul. The roster is ancient and being held together with duct tape and chewed gum.

That’s just it. When the team was at its best, they had 2 very good co-ordinators and no less than 3 all star/HOF level players on each side of the ball, all around their prime.  (Biggie, WJ, BA, Jeffcoat on D. Andrew, Yoshi, Bryant, Lawler on O)

The team was primarily built through FA, with a lot of Ringmaiden-era holdovers making up the bulk of rest of the roster.

MOS has a lot of faults right now but really, unless the personnel department hits a bunch of home runs, it’s going to be a couple rough years no matter who’s coaching.

We can't drag our feet...that's part of the reason we had to settle with Hogan...also why we ended up missing on some FA's

This is key as well, they screwed around soo much last offseason.

Looks like the team hasn't quit after all.

If nothing else they played with the bomber logo with some ******* pride

    Now go win this thing

    **** you alexander

Yeah I underestimated their tenacity. That first half looked sooo bad. I’m happy to be wrong here if they pull it out

Yeah. We were down 17-0 in the '84 Grey Cup too...so it is possible.. but I'm not feeling too hopeful here.

There’s no Tyrone Jones (or anyone) to make a play to get us back in games with this team though. Honest question, have they come back from a deficit at all this year?
