  1. I remember we usually play well against Rourke, can someone with a better memory perhaps tell me did we "spy" him when we played him, he does well with his legs. If my memory is correct.....but I don't fully trust that.....We traditionally dropped heavy coverage, focused on containing him in the pocket and had a "spy" looking for the run with really good success......am I accurate in that?
  2. My 2 cents Rourke while I get nauseated listening to TSN talk about him....he did play well; he looked better than he did last year....Next week will say a lot about Rourke IMO...hopefully we bring him crashing down to earth and the turf Ford is not a QB, he is a great athlete and can "sandlot" with the best of them.....the only time he looked like a QB was when he was like 10 yards back and rolled out to the wide side......not sustainable Betts gifted Edm. most of their early offensive numbers.....He is quick, I will give him that, but dude you ain't catching Tre Ford....but stubborn is as stubborn does he kept trying and failing miserably allowing ford an unobstructed easy rollout.....I still say Betts has a great motor and is really quick but the guy just can't contain or be patient against the run....His career so far is one trick pony I am happy for Buck to get his first win....I just hope his second win is at least a couple weeks away.....
  3. The best part of the entire Mtrl game was NO DAM HORNS....it was great, I was nervous to put the game on but alas it was just football noises, not constant honking.......the BEST upgrade for TSN broadcasts do all season....
  4. Ott needs to practice form tackling...... Either Ott has a week O-line or Sask. has a very good D-line....... Sask. O-line considering they had some 3rd and 4th's on it actually did really well considering and gave Harriss the time he needed..... AJ, may not get back on the field if the Canadian kid get's an extended audition, he ran hard..... Sask. was better prepared and better coached this game, which is half crazy to think about with the substitutions they had....
  5. TCB, flying Otter, and Bomber beer LBJ 1919 and Golden Ale HP Bulldog LOTW Lakeside and Forgotten Lake (my wife's #1) Torque Whitty Belgian DMC Starstuff All the above are great, can't go wrong with any of them on a hot humid Manitoba evening....add it a secluded campsite, a Bomber game on CJOB and a bonfire and it's the ultimate MB Evening
  6. Suits is terrible, has been for a long time and will continue to be....TSN should be grooming someone for this and think of succession planning Milt will be missed Dunnigan...wish we knew why, but I hope he is enjoying his time, wobbly pops, stumbles on words or not, he was one the most entertaining best they had! I actually don't really like Henoc as a broadcaster.. don't know if I am in the majority or minority, but I just don't think he is very good at it Ford is all right, not great but sooooo much better than Suits Kate, ehhhh, she is a good communicator but whether it is her or the "role" they have her portray I find it can at times get annoying Barker....turn down the yell..... Furgusin I find pretty raw but good Neilson is getting there, I think he is the future Lapo if he keeps learning I think will become great Smith is one of the most polished IMO, I like his calls Lalji....eh, decent but his Rourke love is so over the top I like the idea of some guest broadcasters, because IMO TSN needs to find some new blood, hopefully BLM joins when he retires, and hopefully we find some good ones to groom GO Dru and teh Redblack!!
  7. I too am in the group of thinking that Sheehan must be great holder, clearly we have had very good success with FG's I think it a solid hypothesis that our staff and/or Castillo do not want a change.....it is reasonable to think that the intangibles of this may have had an effect on the decision to roll with Sheehan again, perhaps the "risk" of a different holder, even just the mental aspect was what pushed Sheehan over Evans. As mentioned above keeping the "older" long snapper only adds credence to this theory. I have also wondered about Kola as well. He is not the best blocker, but he keeps winning, and when you look at it, we don't have many bad snaps, so again it is a solid hypothesis that Kola keeps winning because his snaps are better, he may get outplayed as a pure blocker every TC, but not as a pure snapper. That intangible again may again be what pushes him over Eli etc. over and over. Perhaps Zach is vocal behind closed doors on his preference for a Kola snap. All aspects, not just athletic ability in play perhaps the mental uncertainty or concern from a "different snapper" is judged more than the blocking drop-off?? Good theories anyway......
  8. Rourke is far and away the most overrated......Not only with media but with his over bloated salary
  9. Rourke shows marked improvement from last year, but not at his 2022 success, he has BC in the mix, but isn't in the running for any awards Ford struggles at QB for Edm. they ride him through the struggles but eventually concede to sit him....by then Edm. is all but out of contention VAJ manages to keep Cal. in contention and puts together a solid season in Cowtown saving Dickies job Harriss, leads the league in completion percentage to start the season, and leads the Riders offence to efficiency, while the defense carry's them.....until the o-line woes become too much and he takes too many hits and ends up injured again...and then the Riders falter opening up Rourke, and VAJ to compete in the standings Strev. wins a gutsy game in week two and Zach takes his team to the top of the West again Dru, lights it up on his way to MOP Bo nips at Dru's heals all season Kelly, pisses off Bomber fans by lighting our defence up and puts up stats but he leads the Boatmen to the middle of the pack, and has at least one off field distraction Davis starts out strong, Philpot get's knicked, teams figure him out and Mtrl. scrambles at QB
  10. We have some very athletic LB's more so than the past, and we kept a-lot of them....we also had poor coverage units last year, this all may be a bit of a blessing in disguise.....the young guys get a change to get in on specials and maybe rotate. They get conditioning, experience slowly and have an extended opportunity to learn under a veteran. If/when injuries happen the guy going in will be that much more experienced and familiar. I see our LB's evolving and progressing as the year goes on, and I think we have the makings to actually have a very good LB core with depth moving forward.
  11. My 2 cents....I mostly like it, we kept some great potential on the pr....I do question our punter, but maybe he is an amazing holder.... I don't think we need to worry about JT as much as the air time he gets...I think he is insurance in case Lawson' s injury fares up.... I also don't think we need to worry about Wilson as much either as when healthy he is really good ...but he NEVER stays healthy...so I figure that spot will change soon....
  12. With the smoke, I think I heard it helped cause some of those pesky thorax injuries.......
  13. To me the biggest take from today was Strev. got lots of reps and actual QB reps.....he did run, he did get hit and he did make some throws. His knee appeared to hold-up and he made mostly smart, solid throws...I bet he would like the one RPO back....but overall I was really pleased to see him healthy and look like a real QB, not just a battering ram. With Zach out week "two" I was very pleased with how Strev. looked.
  14. I recommend a TCB Bomber Beer featured Brady this year
  15. Finally after at least 50 refreshes I got on....and missed a bunch of plays with a make noise banner...SMH....How is the CFL this bad......c'mon
  16. WTF.....terrible, terrible terrible that the streaming isn't working..........
  17. I'm not ready to rule out Case entirely just yet....he showed a couple small flashes, he has what many, many players never get an extended look and opportunity....not anointing him the next great returner, but after a year on and off the roster last year to develop and learn the nuances and an offseason he now has the opportunity to prove he took it all in and has the ability and mindset to show he grew and improved and can do the job....many guys never get that shot, he is one of the lucky few, maybe he takes this opportunity and shines.....
  18. IMO, Zach has struggled with some injury concerns, and he is another year older, Strev. is coming off a serious injury, Wilson has thrown what, two passes in a regular season game.... Now let's hope Zach lights it up and stays healthy all the way to another GC. Let's hope Strev. comes in ready at the start of camp and spells off Zach on some packages with success and shows he can take over next year....Let's hope Elegesma makes it to our team at some point this season and shows he isn't too far behind the imports.....The newest guy maybe a look see and PR, maybe a look see and bring him back next year....But IMO we should have a back-up that has at least thrown some passes in this league and started a few games, whether on the IR, or AR, IR.....or even hiding on a CJ "farm team"...lol IF TC goes great and Strev. proves he is 100% and Elgersma makes it here and shows he isn't too far behind I think we can look at releasing, but I believe until TC or even RC we keep Patterson...heck 6 arms in RC and early TC would be a nice luxury to have.
  19. And like that according to 3down nation Dolegala is released....
  20. I'm rooting for Streveler, he has a mental and physical toughness unlike many. IF he is used as s real QB and not a gimmick I honestly do believe he can be a true starting caliber QB in the CFL. I could be wrong but, with his attributes, experiences, and the stage of his life he is in combined with how hard he has rehabbed, I would be very surprised if he gets beat out for number 2.........but if he does then I will be very happy as the guy who beats him would IMO be a real stud QB!
  21. I didn't think of this angle, but I like it. Simply put IMO our D-line was not good enough the last two seasons
  22. For whatever my 2 cents are worth......I can't hate on teh this draft class, but like Noeller I traditionally think the lines is where you draft, so colour me surprised with the positions we ended up drafting. I think we greatly increased our special teams coverage in this draft, and perhaps one of the three LB's develop into a solid starter....A QB...I mean he has talent but it's just foreign to me to see us draft a QB...I hope the global we took on the D-line shows rotational AR potential, and may the best punter "win" As of today I give the draft a B...If one of two guys live up to potential/develop then we can revisit it as a great draft.....on the flip side If we get into injury issues on the O-line we may look back and realize maybe the "old way" of drafting for the lines is still the way to go? I am curious as to what/when we start looking at the Demski succession plan....
  23. Two opinions; One great news, on the financials, Miller and team with the product we have has been fantastic! That mock draft, a WR, QB, DB and RB in the top four.......really..... I think we need at least on OL/DL near the top, a WR, RB and DB are fine if best athlete available as I could see the fit but as our top picks....I am also not understanding all the love for the QB's....but time will tell if GM's agree with me or not.... But again fantastic news on just how successful Miller and the team have been
  24. Two lost draft picks and almost 650K in fines if teh 3down article is correct.....ouch!!!!
  25. Thanks for the info, regarding Wallace......It's nice to have a place where people have knowledge top of head and are willing to share! Here is to the hope another Wallace falls to us...Could someone on here who follows closer and has a better knowledge base of mine regarding the O-line prospects break down what they think of expected top O-lineman in this draft?
