  1. With the blocking we have been giving, I don't think just changing the returner is the solution.....yes a guy like Grant can occasionally do something in spite of lack of blocking, but IMO it's a greater issue than just returner. I theorize that even as bad as we played if we had dressed even one extra D-lineman we probably would have won...my reasoning is look at how good we were getting pressure on Brown until Habba and Fox went down, then once our D-line was exhausted and no real threat Ott was able to run the clock and Brown was able to stay mostly clean....true our offence and specials were bad, but I do really believe that our lack of rostered D-line depth cost us one Grey Cup and recently cost us this game....
  2. I don't think this is insert players name here fault. To me this is a bigger issue, take one or two guys out and IMO the end result is the same. Offence was terrible, Zach was terrible, but his blocking was terrible, our run game was terrible 42 total yards, we abandoned it and became one dimensional, we didn't use misdirection, screens, sweeps, or even Strevelor....is he hurt?? we only converted 30% of our second downs and only 40% of our pass attempts. It was hot garbage....Eli and/or another import o-lineman would not have changed this. This is far, far deeper than changing out a guy or two.... Special teams, Castillo was "unchipped" 33yard net punt average is not good enough, our coverage teams was poor again...even with "125 LB's" on the roster, Mitchel didn't fumble and his blocking was terrible, completly terrible, he was swallowed up instantly, yes, he has not shown great, but again insert players name here with that blocking and IMO the numbers would not have been any better Defence....oh boy only dressing 6 DL really bit them in the arrse....At the beginning with all six we were collapsing the pocket and getting pressure, then Habba went down, then Fox went down and the remaining four guys were exhausted, overworked and gassed...completely not fair for them, not to mention Jake has never had great stamina, Schmek looked like he was about to puke every time the defence came off, Willy simply had no more in the tank to give, and Adams isn't even an end to begin with, never mind in full game cardio condition. It's actually almost impressive that the defence sort of kept us in this game, condidering we had an exhausted, slow D-line for almost the entire game. For the love of all things, dress more D-line!!!!!!! Intangibles....Hardrick was pure energy, he exuded love for "his" guys Baily was emotional and intense, Harris, remember "you got my back"......maybe it's not always about pure athlete talent and skillset....maybe we have let too many emotional leaders get away, maybe we need this back.....so the question is who/how, do we have that in house??? Is there a vet out there that can bring that???? So my rant in short is this.......roster better, Osh, step in and improve this specials unit overall, and Buck figure out what you have and figure out a game plan to use them, because this game you didn't set them up to succeed...and maybe we do need a change along the o-line, hell maybe we need to play 6 O-line heavy set more until Brady is back, and/or Zach gets his rhythm back, and unless Streveler is hurt, get him involved and please find the intensity......right now no ones "got my back"
  3. Give the defence some credit...with ZERO possible D-line rotation they are completely gassed
  4. If only we dressed more than 6 DL.....🤪
  5. In fairness its humid as heck and he must be gassed as he has no back-up so zero rotation....correct me if i am wrong, but we only dressed 6 D-line and two are hurt in Habba and Fox.....so literally Thomas, Smeck, willie and Adams have to play aevery single down....and with how cruddy our offence has been check ou tthe TOP
  6. I think fox is also injured......anyone confirm??
  7. OMG...our special teams are soooooo bad
  8. My Bomber keys to the game; Zach- was it rust....whatever it was the ball goes through his hands and he needs to better with it JA- he is not Brady, but my eyes said Brady was worse than we were led into believing health wise last game, can JA be better than injured Brady O-line-Kola probably had his worst game as a Bomber, looking for redemption this week Receiver-Lawler out hurts us, Woli played with fantastic intensity last week, that needs to spread and guys don't need to be Kenny, but guys need to get open and block D-line- is 6 guys enough.....humidity is supposed to be very high with damn near tornado weather...six is a slim number Biggie-is he going to play like biggie we all love....or biggie in last years GC? Ford- I may be overly harsh in my criticism, but he was one of the worst DB's last week.....league wide....he needs to bounce back Castillo-no chip no issues..... Sheehan- I am REALLY tired of punts out of bounds... Mitchel- doesn't need to break one, but secure and go forward Coaching-Woli had "it" last week, coaches need to make sure everyone has the intensity we should have
  9. I know you have been consistently high on Ford, but I was not impressed with him so far. I hope your optimism of him turns out to be much more accurate than my skepticism of him.
  10. Is Ford still with the starting D in practice? You could tell Brady was not right, hope he is either far closer to 100% than he was last game or we give him the time to heal he needs-any rate is Augustine taking all 1st teems reps? Is 0 still taking all KR/PR in practice? Nice to have Biggie back...but he better not be Biggie from GC version of nowhere near healthy enough to play? Is Demski practicing, he also looks injured right from the beginning to my eye test?
  11. Not to fully defend him, but Zach was so bad, we couldn't even hit the "easy" ones. Plus, I really do believe Brady is hurt and that affected us establishing the run game. I also think Demski is nursing something, he didn't look himself yesterday, add in Lawler out and our elite playmakers were kind of whittled down to one...
  12. My 2 cents after sleeping on it and watching it again. -Zach was bad...no sugar coating, he was bad -Lawler injury appears to be his arm/hand getting caught under the defender and bending/rolling badly...he grabbed it and went off pretty quickly -Say what you want but Oliveria is hurt, he didn't have burst...he is injured, and I will die on that hill -Ford did not play good enough, perhaps Mc Ghee is better? But unless Ford really improves his starting days are numbered IMO -It appears the "chip" affected Castillo -Mitchel needs to show more on returns -Another damn punt out of bounds.....not good enough -Demski seemed off, I question if he is actually injured -The ankle twist on Streveler should be a minimum 1 game suspension, the replay clearly showed intent to injure -The face mask call on us was a bad call
  13. Defence had a couple breakdowns, special have been hot garbage, but this loss falls squarely on Zach and the offence
  14. He was favoring his wrist forearm area right after a catch, then went out right away
  15. Lots of mistakes and it's only a 9 point game at half...wheeew...now our offence needs to get in sync and get going...honestly the defence has looked pretty good. Can't sugar coat it Zach was terrible, and our special teams pretty craptastic also...
  16. Ok, yikes....Zach the game started already......blown coverage for a TD against, fumble on a return and now an illegal kick out of bounds...
  17. BC should be good, but I am not sure they should be as good as media is hyping them up to be. Although they host the GC and VA is a very big play exciting guy to watch when he is on, so it is understandable that media will try to create hype and stories around this. As I mentioned above VA is and has always been a great athlete, but has had struggles in the mental portion of his game. Last year he for the most part didn't get too high or too low, and showed maturity and growth, it still begs to be seen if he can keep growing in that regard, or if as history has shown he falters back to his ups and downs. He also had a very good, very experienced receiving core at his disposal to use his strengths with, does he still have that with the high changeover in his starting receiving corpse? If he doesn't can, he successfully adapt to a different style of game, last year he lived and died on the "big play". The big question is, with Stanback the Lions do have a solid ground game, will they use it, will they use it enough to not become one dimensional and if they do will that affect VA's ability to get into his rhythm on the field. again VA was at his best and was very good, when he got into a rhythm and the big plays were happening. If they choose to use the run game enough, will VA be able to be patient and turn "it" on and off within a game to allow a run game to get established and then find that big play magic only in between running plays. I for one do not think BC will use the run game as much as even they want due to this. I predict they will start the year trying to establish a more balanced offence, but that this will come at the cost of VA doing what he does best, which is pushing the ball downfield. I predict after a few weeks they will go back to last years one dimensional big or bust offence, to get VA back into a groove.
  18. Ah, who cares who starts, as long as they rotate through and keep guys fresh. At least this year we potentially have guys that can....
  19. It shows 9 or 10 starting CDN, but I am fairly confident that with the guys we kept and the looks of it we will see a fairly heavy rotation on defence. We have a lot of import DL, and a few more import LB kept around. I for one could care less if the game one roster shows 10 or 11 CDN starters, and heck don't care if they all are on the field for the first respective side snap....as long as we rotate and keep guys fresh especially the front 7 on defence. I was rooting for Chris Smith and Kody Case, but it seems both got nicked, maybe we see one or both back. Mosses had the resume, but has had an injury history and rumor is he is injured again, so...maybe nothing or it could be his body just telling him it can't do it?? Petrishin has now been cut two CFL TC's, again maybe something we don't see with him.... On ward and upward and let's focus on how to best make life very difficult for Fajardo even with all those pesky CDN's......
  20. They are nicer than the blue camo abomination we trotted out a few years back
  21. I'm up and I'm down, I'm hot and I'm cold, I'm in and I'm out....I'm on a Morning Big Blue Forum..... I am looking forward to seeing the front seven on defence tomorrow
  22. I am usually pretty bad at guessing but here we go West BC Wpg Sask Edm Cal East Mtrl Hammy Ott T.O
  23. Case, Shmek and Kolankowski could field some pretty wicked hair flows..........
  24. Could someone refresh my memory....how did Josh Johnson look in Regina?
  25. My two cents... First year guys that show very well get PR/active roster rotation and grow and learn the CFL nuances and build chemistry etc. Second year guys that put in the time, looked really good over year one, got their feet wet and maybe had some active game day rotation and proved they have some chemistry, and picked up some nuances can push for active roster and playing time or if needs are made available starting spots Of course, there are some exceptions to this, but using this framework, who do people on here think are holdovers from last year that will push for starting or more active roles, and who do we think will be the "first year" guys we look to groom for 2025? Rarely does this team start raw rookies, so realistically even though as Booch has pointed out some do have better physical attributes and upside, let's look realistically within the framework of what we tend to do and look at year two or three guys to be excited to see get more play time and let's look at some of the guys Booch and others are really high on as options to make PR/active and be groomed. I for one am excited to see Fox and Habba. I think Cole could make a very good LB, and I am very excited to see if/who we may keep to back-up potential work in and groom at MLB. (Biggie is amazing...but father time never ever losses) I also question if Rosary could make JA expendable...that is my out of left field projection this TC (Rosary takes JA's roster spot)
