  1. Seeing established coaching staffs school the newbies, not only during games, but also in preparation and roster development/management
  2. From discussions I've heard, the PA can tell a player they won't appeal on their behalf if the punishment is reasonable and historically in line with past penalties In this case the argument could be made that no one had received a 2 game suspension for similar offenses in the past , thus is uncharted territory and has to be appealed I don't personally agree with it, but process must be followed
  3. Even with green coloured glasses, it's hard not to see the riders at 8 or 9 all season Any hope we have is based on fact that other than your Bombers, all the other teams had definite weaknesses and looked beatable at times- sadly though usually their defences looked weak, meaning the rider O will have to step up, and as long as Macadon't is calling plays - ughhh
  4. Even if that is Jessica Hecht at safety- that is a scary good defence That will separate your Bombers from the Stamps over the year That plus your strength and consistency in coaches will be what separates you from the rest of the west If Matthews is back soon - 15 wins might be possible
  5. Coached ringette when my daughter went from 8 thru 18 and hockey when my son went from 4 thru 16 so have a couple theories... Ringette is a non- collision sport, much like basketball. There is a ton of contact, and getting more aggressive as coached by the more aggressive AA coaches ( remember this is a personal theory based on observation) who are coaching based on what is and isn't being called as penalties Ringette only has two on ice officials and most of the time they need to watch the ring , to see who has control,to watch the markings on the ice - those lines at the top of the circle and the crease lines are more important in the rules than in hockey, - so their vision is almost always down - contact above the waist is rarely called unless truly aggressive, and then often miss called based on the outcome that they see when they transfer their line of sight If ever a sport needed a 3rd ref., ringette is it - it's essentially playing hockey with two linesmen and no ref Also from a young age the coaches are taught to teach the boys how to take a hit and how to skate safe - shoulders up, eyes up, protect the head And never skate straight on into the boards to retrieve the puck, skate in at an angle- sadly I realized this too late to really help my daughter and those teams - but if you watch a ringette game you'll cringe how often a girl will skate full bore straight at the ring along the boards- Ever notice the lack of the Stop sign on the upper back of ringette jerseys ? So long way of me saying it's because of the lack of coaching safety from the youngest ages and the lack of the 3rd ref based on the misbelief it is a non contact sport
  6. Disingenuous at best Comparing apples to bowling shoes Good example of how you can burn stats to prove any point Yes girls ringette has too many concussions- over the 12 or so years I coached both ringette and hockey - I had about 7 or 8 kids missing ringette due to head injuries for every 1 from hockey But this has more to do with how ringette prioritizes officiating and the craptacular job they do in monitoring above the waist contact If he is using the same public health data from univ of alberta I've seen, which shows slips and falls account for double the ER visits for head injuries vs all sports combined - I guess we should all stop walking in the winter?

  8. Thumbs up to this Now have never seen a game from any of these leagues, but am picturing semi pro level or worse- there will be some talent and skill, but not a ton So now assuming we're not seeing high end skill with top coaching , the cfl game and rules would be far more entertaining than 4 down rules ,
  9. Please sign adarius, I need some other fan base to be drinking tonight too
  10. Only hope for SSk not to be 5th in west would be a BLM signing , and wouldn't be betting on that
  11. Won't comment on individual coaches, But overall for in game coaching I don't think anyone can touch MOS and staff Although in CJ's defence he has gotten noticeably better since removing the distraction that was DC earlier this year
  12. Trying to take a lesson from Hugo over on Riderfans - he's an Eskimo fan who manages to stay classy and stick to football discussions I guess maturity is relative Cheer as a fan, Out
  13. I see the Riders as a team a couple years behind the bombers in group maturity- still a lot of players new to each other- To me that means that we need to win the turnover battle and get fewer penalties to win A more mature team ( and by this I dont mean age of the individual players but rather the length most players have been with the team) can overcome turnovers and penalties and still find ways to win And I'll still be cheering as Riders win 😁
  14. Position comparisons aside, Bombers have better Canadians- starters and depth A better QB situation Far superior offensive coaching and schemes The Blue and Gold are the team I least want to face in the playoffs-- they seemed poised for a further 3 game win streak
  15. Now that's what a Bomber fan sees when he looks at a potted plant in Winnipeg Square
  16. Just returned from first trip and game to IGF- Want to thank Winnipeg and BB fans for a fun weekend and great game experience And I'd be saying that even if the score hadn't favored my riders - won't disagree that for the second game in a row we had no business even being in the game after first half The game day experience at IGF is fantastic- I'll have a couple suggestions for Mosaic that they could mirror from IGF And when you guys go- it is seriously loud Also need to give shout out to Santa Lucia pizza- great pizza and they were willing to deliver to a motorhome " in some parking lot near IGF and we're calling from a cell phone with a 403 area code" Anyway, before I delete this account, let me say that two families of Rider season ticket holders are planning to make this trip an annual tradition
