This is a very small part of the game last night, and there are many more important things to complain about, but on a couple of runs by Streveler he faked the pitch to Brady before taking off.  Nothing against that play specifically, but shouldn’t we actually run a RB toss play during the game to make a fake toss more effective?  I might have missed it, but I don’t recall a single one.

The pathetic part is if the O showed up at all we prob would have won. At one point fajardo had more pass attempts than Zach had yards thrown.  It’s concerning when Cody Faj outplays Zach and he has now the last 2 games. 

Last time we beat Montreal the score was like 47 17. The last 2 times we played them the combined bombers scored in 2 games is 36. Perhaps Montreal has figured us out. Thorpe has figured out buck and our O. Prior to that i see a 17 to 3 win also. Since then tho. It’s 2 0 Montreal. 

If you are going to lose it's better to completely crap your pants because there's nowhere to hide and no excuses. You got beaten and embarrassed,  need to be better top down

Honestly, I don't think they should move on quickly from this one. They normally do, but in this case, I think they should stew in it. Because it is an embarrassment, at home, in the home and league opener, in a grey cup rematch where we did the same thing. We have to get back to the point that if a team punches us in the mouth during a game, we answer right away. Not the following week. 
He gave up a bad pressure. He struggled with the overload, and with pick ups. He wasn't terrible. He wasn't tipping the play again. He can keep his man in front of him, if the guy tries to bull rush him. He is not much better than yoshi last year at dealing with speed off the edge. He doesn't have a big push in the run game either. He's a guard, playing tackle. It's a decent downgrade in the run game. Kola was worse, neuf had 2 whiffs but both were more about assignment pick ups. One with Kola one with Lofton. The one with kola though, was more on kola than him. But normally neuf picks those up in that situation. Dobson was good, couple nice run plays, did his job in pass pro. Big stan was big stan. 
The asymmetrical overloads, with drops and delays was really effective from montreal. They have been good at creating pressure and disguising looks for a while now. Though all through the pre season we struggled when teams sent extra men to one side or the other. We did have a lot of guys subbing and dumpsterfire quality QBing mostly. But the pattern continues. We saw similar last year that we struggled to deal with speed off the edge. We've gotten away from having Wrs chip, moving the pocket and using roll outs to counter the D.

Questionable coaching 
Turnovers
Bad special teams
Yes, a grand evening for the big crowd at home.....playing the team that took away another cup win.   
One thing to lose...but to look that inept, especially on a vet filled O....is inexcusable.

Yes, it looked like they weren't prepared. And from what I've read about player use in the two pre-season games, it perhaps shouldn't have been a surprise. It was down right embarrassing! If I'm Wade Miller, I'm having a little chat with the coaching staff today. Heck, maybe I had it right after the game! An effort like that is going to result in empty seats in the stands and fewer $$s in the coffer.

Season opener, at home against the team that broke your hearts in the Grey Cup and the coach admits they weren't prepared? Alarm bells...

I have tons of respect for what Zac has done for the team but you'd have to be blind or exceptionally disingenuous to not admit we hung on to a guy on the downside of his bell curve and let go a guy on the upside of his. I think Brown and Strev would have made a scary combo. 2 very mobile QBs and Brown who has shown he can take charge even coming off the bench.
He could have had this year to sharpen his skills in prep for the GC in 25 at home.
If he stinks it up this year I'll humbly eat my words as long as it's on him and not his OL

If Lawler hits the 6 game they’d sure better use that money to bring in Worthy or Alford to return 

QB play definitely did not do them any favours. 
Keeping in mind this was watching on TV.  I did see Dobson running up after the play without having blocked anyone at least 3 times. Lofton got beat bad once for sure. I thought the interior was pushed too far back in the pocket a lot in the first half, not so much in the second. I didn’t notice Bryant at all, which is a compliment. 
That’s true, the 2021 Grey cup was the last time he did. I mean, he’s had a ton of great games since then obviously but I do t recall him leading a comeback since then. When he’s off he says off now. 
 
Thing is Streveler is such a wild card in that they only really ever let him run the gimmick offence. I think he can get it done, if you go back and watch his early starts from 2018 he was slinging it. Even the 2019 BB.
Still like Dieter Fan was saying, a Strev/Brown combo would have been huge. Would also likely have meant more money for a Jeffcoat or a good FA. 

Zac had the headlight look, for most of that game.  Als completely shut down the middle pass lanes on D.  Some throws missed, some more were just awkward.....

I was at the game live and when I heard Lofton was in the starting line up I was surprised. 
I thought they opened some holes for Olivera, but he litterly tripped. More than once.
I'm no expert here but It seemed to me like Zach had time to pass. Just was holding on too long

100%. It’s not like I enjoy being an ass about it or anything. I like Zach and I genuinely want to be wrong lol 

I don't think the OL was all that awful, Collaros when he's bad tends to make them look worse than they are by doing nothing with the ball but staring hopelessly downfield. 

I know he’s going to have better games than that, just overall I don’t see him improving season to season anymore, and I don’t think that’s the last performance like that we’ll see this year. 
I’m going to try very hard not to beat this point into the ground but It’s very hard to get over the fact that they let one of the only QBs they’ve developed in my lifetime go to keep a 35 year old regressing player who hamstrings the cap.
They’re going to have to let Streveler throw the ball and play full games if they want any shot at keeping this thing going.
