Hurl was 100% a Hall pick and project... 
I also believe that Osh/Walters let Lapo have too much influence on Walters' choice of players...  
I think Walters and Osh aren't independent enough actually...  the guys seemingly connected to Danny Mac, Richie Hall, Lapo, Goveia and Rigmaiden are all kind of just not that great
Danny Mac's connections were particularly awful actually - Walters could lose his job much like Osh because of their assistants

Does Walter bring in players with or without HC/Asst Coach input...?
Is Adarius and Durant on Walters...  both prob paid big signing bonuses then gone for nothing...  if Durant was still here, we would be finished and we'd run another year without discovering Streveler - Alex Ross would still be our 3rd QB...  plus no Adam Bighill
Bowman, Dressler and Adams are all basically guaranteed not to play a full 18 games...
Neufeld instead of Bond...

I'm a realist. This team hasn't delivered a championship in 28 years. The current staff hasn't even delivered a playoff win in 4 and likely 5 seasons. I get that it's probably less aggravating to be naive about the state of the team and blissfully float along thinking success is merely a corner away. But the track record of this club, management, and coaching staff say otherwise. 

It is interesting that people necessarily believe that being an Assitant Coach or a Co-Ordinator makes some one qualified to be a HC? The other interesting thing is how a name gets thrown around and it then develops traction. Why do HCs get recycled? Because the notion is they have experience and therefore it is less risk then rolling the dice on a new guy.

Durant handed us a gift-wrapped Adam Bighill...  I'm eternally grateful.
If Durant was starting, we'd be totally finished, he was garbage the last two years... and Walters would be fired mid-season.

Could possibly trade for Adarius Bowman.

A) it's mtl - usually a good team to build confidence.
b)once you change your starter... the OG one is usually done- you are rarely ever going to get the most out of him. It would be best for us to do our due diligence and make sure that Matt is in fact done and it is nothing that can be worked through. 
If he fails after a bye week and an easier opponent, then that due diligence 

From O'Shea's comments after the game, it would seem probable that Nichols will start next game.

Hopefully people will not spontaneously combust......when MOS starts Nichols against Montreal.

Does the Sask offence suck....absolutely......how many turnovers and points off of turnovers did Wpg have last year? How many games did Wpg have to kick 5 or 6 fgs to win last season.....better still the 88 and 90 Cup teams won because of their defences.

You think it's a coincidence that both those guys treat draft picks with disdain and sign a bunch of thugs and criminals? 
Pretty clear that Calgary was all Hufnagel. Also pretty telling that nobody has given Murphy the keys to a franchise.

All I'm saying is he's found some good talent and I think without Jones, maybe he'd have a few more gems...  he's a good personnel guy

Hufnagel Jr is the guy everyone is after but thought is that Calgary’s GM job is already his when dad retires.

These are good players.

Speak for yourself. Dave Richie had overstayed his welcome and had become very reluctant to part with his favourite players, but I did not like Doug Berry's firing at all. That said, I was ok with the firing of every coach since then, and was leery about O'Shea.

I don't remember ANYONE other than Lyle Bauer who wanted Dave Ritchie fired...
Lots of people were after Doug Berry and Kevin Glenn... for sure
I do remember all the hype about Tim Burke coming in to lead us to the defensive glory days 

I'm actually worried with the coming bye week that we'll pull another 'Doug Berry'...
Team was flailing in early 2008... so Doug Berry asks Taman to 'remake' the team - with Joe Smith/Fred Reid thunder n lightning...
The team has a winning run in the second half... so of course Bauer rewards everyone by cleaning house...  then Kelly cuts Joe Smith - back to square one (actually square minus 10... but whatevs)
 
 

Everyone I knew was mortified when he was canned...  he'd brought us back from the scrap heap and then Bauer treated him like crap.
Ritchie was too loyal to Khari that season but with very very good reason...  everyone was hoping he'd recover from the injury.  He didn't.
Maybe there's a similar thing with Osh and Nichols but Nichols has done far less than Jones...

One persons perspective can be so messed up when you compare it to facts. Even though they are now on a 4 game winning streak and sitting in 2nd place all by themselves.  You say that Sask sucks???? Yet SK hammered Calgary. Then they went into BC Place and beat the Lions. Both of which the Bombers could not do. Then  they won this back to back series. They are sitting at 7-4 with a game in hand this coming weekend. So with all that being said. I would suggest the reason why the Bombers are getting beat by SK and Ottawa is they are simply better. 

The sought after gem may have been shrouded in Nichols worst decision making game of the year leading to many points against.  I'm not going to completely disagree with you.  The Banjo Bowl was given away by our QB1  But I was mostly referring to stealing games from good offensive teams. We've seen plenty of times this year where our defense has looked good against bad offensive teams.  Trying to post a defensive gem against the best offensive teams in the league has usually led to late game collapses.  Our D isn't good enough to win those games on their own.
