The only way real change will happen is if Trump is defeated in November along with his lapdog GOP governors who follow his every move. If they all get back in then it will be status quo for another 4 years with blacks & police. .
-
That is me. I am conservative but I could never stand with him or vote for him.
-
I think he finally dug a trench his fat ass can't climb out of.

What makes you the expert here?

Explain how every cop who has killed a black man gets off? I really want to hear your explanation.

Calgary has a successful spring league that has been in operation since the early 2000's. My son played in it & I coached in it. I haven't coached since 2009 & don't really follow much local football anymore so I'm not 100% sure about the number of teams in the league. I think there are now 8 teams in Calgary. It would be interesting if the Spring League would cease operations for a year if the high schools wanted to play next spring. That is, if high school ball is cancelled in September. The problem is fields are booked for traditional spring sports both in high school & the community. Does football in high school tell rugby that you can't play because we want your players as well as fields for practices & games? How does high school football tell community sports like soccer that we want your fields? I doubt it. The pushback from the community would be intense. I'm sure in Calgary at least, the spring league will continue next season. They will have their fields booked to practice on & to play. Only thing that may change is allowing Grade 12's to play if they miss their fall season coming up. The rules are Grades 9-11 can play but no Grade 12's. I can see that changing to accommodate the seniors if they have a lost season. I'd be in favour of allowing all 4 grades to participate permanently. While the spring season is lost for 2020, I can really see it roaring back to life next year if the coming HS season is lost & they are allowed to play next spring.

Every cop that has killed a Black man has been acquitted. Some cops think that they can act with impunity & there'll be no consequences. The police & justice system in the US are corrupt.

Frank Reagan won't be pleased.

Oops, reacted to the wrong quote. Deleted.

Disagree. Trump brought this out with his rhetoric the past 4 years. He's as much to blame as the rioters doing damage.

Here's the closest answer I can give you. In 2011 & 12 when my son played Junior College football in Northern California, he introduced his teammates to Trailer Park Boys. He brought a bunch of DVDs down with him & 9 or 10 guys would crowd into his dorm room as he played the series for them & they absolutely loved it. One time, they had a snowstorm as the campus was in the Sierra Mountains. One of the players had a car so my son brushed off all the snow & took some guys on the team for a little ride Canadian Style in an empty snowbound parking lot. He was doing doughnuts & sliding all over the place. He said these tough black dudes who were his teammates from the Hood in LA & Oakland were squealing like little piglets in the back as he roared around. They all thought they were all gonna die. Lol. -

There's this "Virus Thingy". We need Janeway to get the website back. -
These covidiots deserve it. Like how the bar just said they did nothing wrong. Hope they get heavily7 fined or have to face criminal charges.

Albertans are angry with the way he has treated Alberta physicians but that hasn't stopped him from his Holy Crusade to gut the Alberta Medical Association & Healthcare. No one voted for him to do that. No one. It will be his undoing as well as the UCP if he does what I think he's going to do when this pandemic is over. Massive cuts to all sectors of Albertans way of life. Healthcare, education, infrastructure, etc. Everyone will be affected. Kenney will be screwing with this province's future simply because of political ideology & blaming it on the pandemic. He will get booted out because of it.
-
The ;police are as corrupt as the day is long. Really have to hope that along with Trump a whole bunch of GOP governors go down with him.
-
I think he's virtually guaranteeing the NDP will be back in power in 3 years.
-
I can't see Trump surviving past November. I think most Americans are fed up with the daily chaos & want him out except his ever shrinking base. But then... he's proven his critics wrong before.

I read it more than once. We are forced to abide by politicians as they set policy & laws. Politicians can do what the hell they want & you can see that in Canada & the US all over with States & Provinces opening up early. Seeing it now in Alberta with Kenney's Old Folks comments this week. His flip flop while astounding is certainly not surprising. The "Good & Kind, I Really Really Care About Albertans" Jason Kenney is now being replaced by the "Bottom Line, You Ain't Seen Nuthin' Yet, Cuts Are Coming, Ha Ha, Hee Hee, Ho Ho" Jason Kenney. I'm not disagreeing with what you say as I agree with most of it but I don't agree with you just dumping all the bad behaviour on the general public when our political leaders play Russian Roulette despite what health officials are saying. Or seem to act in the best interests of Big Business rather than the individual. Doctors can be just as partisan as any of their cabinet colleagues or as bureaucrats once they are in a position to be something like a Chief Medical Officer & Health Minister. They take their marching orders from their political leaders just like anybody else. They value their careers as much as the guy or gal next to them in cabinet. It's all partisan politics. if you're an NDP supporter are you going to really trust what Pallister says or his Health Minister? Same as in Alberta, when Rachel Notley was Premier, half the province here wouldn't have trusted her motives if there was a pandemic. Now with Kenney, the other half feels the same way. In times of crisis people used to trust their political leaders. Not anymore but such is the reality of 2020. As an aside, there is a doctor in New Brunswick under investigation there who went to Quebec for a visit & disregarded the 14 day quarantine & kept on seeing patients once he got back. He saw over 150 patients before he himself fell ill. Two are in serious condition in ICU & other have become sick because of him. The community only has 4 ICU beds & 2 are now occupied because of the asshat physician. You wonder how he could have been so selfish & stupid. What is the general public supposed to do when we can't even trust physicians to do the right thing? BTW, I'm practicing self isolation still. I don't go out anywhere unless I have to. I don't see that changing for a long time.
-
Well, Trump or no Trump (eventually) I'd trust them over China. We don't develop our own technology anymore. So, we're gonna be some countries *****.
-
You can't eliminate the virus even with taking precautions. I believe the majority of humanity will become infected in time. Without a vaccine, that's the only way to eventually beat this thing. It can be slowed down by taking the precautions you mentioned Mr Dee but eventually at some place or some time it'll get us as it is invisible. A month ago we were hunkered down in our homes as the stats for infections kept rising at an alarming rate. Politicians & celebrities were telling us to stay indoors. Now we have the same politicians telling us we must go out. We must support small business. That this can't go on. It's really just an Old Folks disease, anyway. There is little or no leadership in Washington as the US leads the world in infections. Trump is vowing not to shut the country down again if there are more waves of infections. GOP governors are opening everything from amusement parks to beaches depending on the State. Now, we have Jason Kenney saying the same things here in Alberta as GOP governors & Trump. That this is an Old Folks Disease so get out there & support local Alberta businesses & protect the old & vulnerable. So easy, peasy, right? Wrong! Everybody just gets confused with the mixed messaging. Kenney's sudden about face is a surprise even to me as a Conservative. Is he right? How the hell should I know when the Chief Medical Officer is telling us something else entirely. This is going on all over the place. In Quebec & Ontario & in the US where infections are highest. Why would Ontario & Quebec open up their economies when infections are still rising? It makes no sense but that's what we're getting from governments & it confuses everyone. Is there any wonder why people are the way they are when they keep hearing mixed messages from politicians everywhere? Instead of saying it's our fault if we go into a second lockdown & don't take precautions then I'd advise you to throw shade at the people running governments everywhere like Jason Kenney & Francois Legault who sent kids back to school a week or so ago only to change his mind a couple of days later. Throw shade at our Canadian Chief Medical officer Dr. Theresa Tam who kept changing her message from keeping borders open in February to closing them in early April. Then saying late last winter & early spring that there was no need to wear masks as they don't help . Then suddenly changing her mind & saying yes, we should wear masks as they may help. Or they may not. That is why people are so ****** up. We can't trust what politicians & public health officials tell us so we might as well watch You Tube videos & listen to clueless radio & tv commentators for all the good the others that are paid to do are doing.

Every generation think's they are smarter than any generation before or after. I will say this, we had no social media back in 1969. No internet so no fan forums like this to discuss the world's problems. No facebook, no Twitter, no Instagram & no smartphones for pictures or texting. As individuals, we were alone compared to today. The truth is in 1968, there was no social distancing, no masks, hand sanitizers, no quarantines, self isolation & no social distancing. Schools weren't closed, businesses weren't shuttered & the World Of Sports continued. People accepted the fact we got the Hong Kong Flu. Some died & most didn't. Life went on. The pandemic wasn't even on anyone's Concerned List. The flu lasted thru 3 or 4 waves from 1968-72. I remember getting really, really sick at Xmas time in 68. I was 13 & I remember being seriously ill for 4 or 5 days before starting to get over it. I was the sickest on Xmas Eve & Xmas Day & my parents went out to spend both those days with family & I had to stay home in bed. I remember being really pissed off about that. I also remember getting the flu again the next Xmas in 69 & missed everything for a second year & I was so angry it happened twice in a row. Did I have the Hong Kong flu? No idea. I can only guess & say yes.

Sorry, you'll never convince me that we should hand our 5G network over to Huawei with possible ties to the CCP although they deny it.

Well Justin The Clown will grant Huaweii the right to build our 5G network.

I find it hard to understand a lot of Canadians. Like the ones that hate Trump, call him an asshat & constantly mock the guy. They hate American foreign policy, resistance to climate change, militarism, gun laws, racism, etc. Yet some of these same Canadians are the first to say they want an NFL team in Toronto, the CFL sucks, it's bush league, want it to die , say they'll never watch 3 down football because it's a joke & the players are garbage. We all know people like that. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Something as distinctly Canadian as the CFL & they hate it.
