Nope. You can't do that. What about all the other players on different teams that gave their hearts & souls for the Bombers but never won? Where do you start & where do you end? It's a privilege to play on a championship team. I can easily give you 20 names of players who deserve rings but never got one.

And to just recruit players of colour as well? Think an NFL team would let him do that? Not because it's racist because a recruiter should have the best interests of the team he works for as his #1 priority & they want results. If a player is white & he can help the team you work for then sign him. He wouldn't do that. Like you said, I'm sure that he was discriminated against but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Football was still good to him in that he rose to the position of a CFL GM. Not many guys can say that.

Then in late 1999, he got his chance to be the Riders GM. The first thing he does is start trashing the Stamps. I never understood the hate he had for Calgary when he was GM in Saskatchewan. To me, it was just disgusting that he would talk so negatively about the former team that gave him his first break into pro football yet there he was running his mouth constantly for the entire time he was in Regina. Then, after he was fired by the Riders, who picked him up off of the ground & dusted him off? Wally Buono when he became GM of the Lions.

That racist old Black Panther Roy Shivers changed their culture. He was aggressive in his hate for other teams & that hate became part of their fan culture. He felt Rider fans had been pushed around for too long. That they had no pride. Hence the nickname Priders. They've been douchebag fans ever since. I used to say Shivers was a great 1 dimensional recruiter. That he could find a player like Solomon Elimimian but he couldn't find someone like Adam Bighill or Nate Holley because he had no interest in doing so.

Well, the stick is part of the game the minute a player touches the ice & there are penalties if it isn't used legally. Same with fighting & kicking. On the ice there are penalties as fighting is part of the game. When someone kicks & punches someone off the ice that isn't part of the game anymore. Then it's like you & me on the street. When I was on there many years ago , Rider Fans actually wasn't a bad place. They accepted fans from other teams & it was pretty respectful. Then the site changed & anyone who wasn't a Rider fan became targets to be mocked & ridiculed. It just got worse & worse. Finally I just said, **** it & left, Never went vack.

I stopped posting there well over a decade ago. Maybe 12 to 13 years. To me, it's just a waste of time. Who cares what a ******* Prider thinks about my team. They should worry more about theirs. Why didn't Carolina fire him after racial slur & the 2 assaults on his players? I find it strange that this wasn't vetted in its entirety. Were the Hurricanes management aware of Peter's racial slur? And if they were why wasn't he fired at that time? Then the 2 assults? How in the name of all that is sane was he allowed to get away with any of that? Amazing that was never mentioned in the hiring process. Or maybe it was but Treliving ignored it. I mean, he didn't interview anyone else. He wanted Peters & that was it.

There is usually a big difference between the first player picked & the 9th. This isn't the NCAA. It's U Sports & maybe there are a half dozen really good CFL ready players in the first round, usually. The Draft's just a crap shoot. So, losing that first rounder may not be that big a deal.
