  1. I remember some of Dieter Brocks better games were in the playoffs when it was cold. As long as he could grip the ball he could throw it. And his receivers made the receptions.
  2. This is how Streveler did it. Thru the Time Tunnel. He left in 1968 & arrived in 2018.
  3. Skunk laughs. Thinks what you said is funny even though what you said is true. He gives no credit to Nichols for anything.
  4. Yeah, when you look back at their overall record in the playoffs it isn't good.
  5. This goes back to the 1960's when they lost three Western Finals to the Bombers in 61, 62 & 65 & the Lions in 64. Then the Riders in 67 & 69. Lost the Grey Cup in 68 & 70. Finally won their second Grey Cup in 1971. They were 1-6 in the Western Finals that decade. You can bet that some of those Stamps teams were the best in Canada but they couldn't win. Add in the GC & playoff failures since 1990. They won 6 Grey Cups since 1990 but lost a lot more with superior teams just like in the 60's. They don't have the same swagger in the playoffs historically. They choke more than they win.
  6. The Stamps could easily have another 5 Grey cups but they choke more than they win.
  7. Yeah, Clements wasn't a running qb where he'd pick up 80 yards a game but he could scramble around in the backfield, move the pocket, evade the rush, make tacklers miss, extend the play & find an open receiver.
  8. Streveler has a role on this team & he's very good at it coming off the bench with limited plays. Ask him to be the day to day number 1 & he hasn't shown he can do that. He's not close to leading this team as a starter. So, this 1A Streveler & 1B veteran business doesn't make much sense to me.
  9. That's why Claybrooks & Maas are now unemployed. Their qbs put up such big numbers. And Chamblin won 5 games with MBT & the only reason he hasn't been fired is because of the coaches cap. They all had losing records. Nichols with his "inferior play" was 7-2 & had the Bombers in first place.
  10. I don't know about your qb rankings but it needs to be updated. I'll be the first to admit that Nichols didn't put up a lot of passing yards in the 8 or 9 games he played but this was a run first team & at times very predictable on what we would do on first down. Defenses knew Harris off tackle was coming on first downs so they keyed on it. And we didn't go vertical when we passed like other teams. We had more of a horizontal, ball control passing attack which meant more short yardage throws all over the field. We were not a quick strike team under Nichols. Still, he was something like 7-2 when he got hurt. Nichols was a very good game manager & didn't turn the ball over which gave us a field position advantage most games. Field position wins games & we did. Some qbs put up a lot more yardage than Nichols but didn't win like Harris in Edmonton, MBT in Toronto & Reilly in BC. They couldn't get the job done.
  11. You can say that they were weak sisters but he still had to play well enough to beat them. The guy deserves some credit.
  12. How can you say he's not Top 10? That is just a ridiculous statement.
  13. How can I not say it? The Draft is less of a sure thing than any other pro league. Due to the true lack of competition in U Sports with maybe only 3 or 4 really good teams, the competitive discrepancy between conferences in Canada & the NFL poaching the best players.
  14. True which only goes to show the CFL Draft is a throw of the dice at the best of times. The first could be bad pick for the Argos or a bad one. Same with the 9th.
  15. We may lose a first rounder but think about this. The 9th player picked is nowhere near as good as the first because we're talking U Sports here & not the NCAA. That pick may help us or it may not. I think it would be more depth than anything else. So, I don't think it's critical that we keep it. I'd hope Collaros would want to stay here because he finally won a Grey Cup with us, likes O'Shea & the culture of the team. He'd be going back to a complete **** show in Toronto. And having to compete with MBT who I think the Argos really like.
  16. Savage had tons of charisma & wasn't just a good worker. He was a top guy for nearly 15 years. His storyline with Miss Elizabeth His feuding with Hogan. The craziness of his character. The way he cut promos & his work on the mic. All excellent. I was a big fan. Ohhhhh yeahhhhhhh!!
  17. Yeah, he played. Did well, too. Clements got hit & lost one of his contact lenses & had to come out to get new ones on the sidelines. Hufnagel ran a few plays before Clements came back in. In the fourth quarter having replaced Clements, Hufnagel threw a 4 yard TD pass to Jeff Boyd.
  18. Just an interesting aside, when you compare the 1984 Grey Cup qbs to the 2019 Bombers there was no one on the 84 team like Streveler but you can certainly compare Zach Collaros to Tom Clements. As well as Matt Nichols to John Hufnagel.
  19. They treated Storm like they treat Cesaro. Super talented but never gets a push in singles competition. Instead we're stuck with wrestlers like Baron Corbin who no one can stand.
  20. I didn't know he got a job with the WWE. I always thought that he wasn't used right when he was a WWE wrestler. Yeah, good for him.
  21. Did Storm close his wrestling school?
