History smistory. We lost the game in the tretches vs an inferior opponent. I am still down about that as this is supposed to be the strength of this team.

Johnson sucks...definitely the weakest link. Can't tackle can't cover quits on plays but can take penalties.

You are right Bond was the LG in Toronto and started the Hamilton game at Left Guard too. I clearly missed that.

I respectfully disagree. He filled in when Neufeld we injured. Hardrick took Neufeld spot and Bond filled Hardrick rg spot. He played three games at rg until the move to LG vs Montreal.

I will reserve my judgment on Durant until his oline situation improves. BTW this may be the first time in his career that he has played in front of such a mediocre line...he does not look good.

I don't know for sure but the left side is the blind side. Maybe Bond was there to strengthen blitz pickup or offset/match up better with the Montreal D. In the NFL your best interior guy plays LG. We might see the same lineup from here on out it might be a one and done. Something to look for this weekend.

Our offense had the ball 4 times in the second half before Lofler's pick with just over 1 minute left. 2 first down and then a Harris fumble ended drive one A 2 and out on drive two first sack in 2 games on the oline. A nice long drive that was stop on a run attemp on 2nd and 2 ended with a field goal 94 yard td drive I may have missed one drive but I came away with a solid impression of Nichols and the way he handled a blitzing defence that really took away the deep throw opportunities. I think if push came to shove this offense can win a game or three on their own merits.

I re-watched the game yesterday and noticed a couple things. Bond played left guard beside Stanley all game. If football was like hockey Westerman would have had 2 assists before the first half of the first quarter. The hit/hurry on Glen that caused the Cole int and he forced Glenn into the arms of Sholagun for the sack. He also rushed from the nose tackle spot on 1st and 2nd and long situations. I'll add some more later.

Fact of the matter is willy has not had a good oline from day one. In each of his first two years he managed early season victories while amassing massive damage along the way. He was broke down and had not recovered in the games he played this year. That was clear to the fans and especially his teammates. He gave this team everything he had in year one and two. To start the year he was just a shell of what he was. He needs more time to regain that old form. He needs more time to work through his injury and trust his leg can once again take a hard shot. This is a mental hurdle he can come back from. Plenty of qbs have. Nichols has had the same battle in his career. We can afford Willy the rest of the season to sit and recover. We can revisit his contract in the offseason. We can allow him to battle for the starting position in training camp next year. I hope this is how everything unfolds. This is how a classy organization would handle Willy.

I see Bond possibly getting a look in the NFL with his great play. Chungh does not go to free agency we lock him up. We did draft Couture to earn a guard position next year so there is a contingency plan.

A big physical receiver that can jump and win battles for the ball. Someone like Chris Mathews...that type of player. Montreal's red zone D was real good last night and Harris nearly had two TDs he just couldn't stay inbounds.
