If u trade Staf with Trouba, it has to be to a team that is comfortable taking on Staf's 4.35m and signing Trouba to over 5m per year. Not many teams can handle that.

Very good point about the salary hit on Stafford.

Obviously, the Jets would have to take something back.

Maybe an established LHD with an expiring (or near expiring contract).

Also, that makes Staf harder to move, even at the TD.

Honestly, I'd like to see Calgary win out until they (hopefully) play Winnipeg again. Get 'em real fat n sassy heading into the West Final......

    after all this time... payback!

And after not playing for two straight weeks, seems like they would be prime for an upset no matter who plays them!

He hasn't contributed a nickel's worth of value to the team, either. He's had sort of a six month paid vacation. Like a politician.

Yeah, it's a vacation being injured with the risk of never playing the game again.

    This whole comment is absurd.

I see it's all sarcasm now. My apologizes

I wish there was a sarcasm font.

Staf is hampering a younger players' development if you ask me and even if we were going to make the playoffs this year, we aren't going all the way.....management knows this.

How is he hampering anyone's development? They could put him in the pressbox if they felt someone was more deserving. Right now, the kids are developing where they should be, where they can get the minutes each night.

I wouldn't mind Dano up at the big club but I don't think his development is hampered playing big minutes, dropping passes between his legs in the AHL.

    Jcon,

I just think we need a type of center that Petan is and not the game that Copp plays and I think De Leo should be called up when the team is playing well which it isn't...Petan is the type of center we need right now if his D game has improved...give him a shot and see where his progression is...you can always send him backdown.

I guess I don't entirely disagree with this.

However, we need a player that wins faceoffs and Copp wins faceoffs. Last year, Petan didn't get to the circle very often.

I would call up Copp or De Leo before calling up Petan.

I wouldn't shed a tear for Staf or Burmi. I still think Staf is good enough for the 3rd line until he hits his streak. He's also a good veteran that will help teach the kids the right way to play. But if we could get a decent pick for him now, I might go for it.

I've had some time to reflect on my earlier thoughts....

I would hang onto Stafford now, unless he was part of a bigger package.

If the Jets are close to a playoff spot come January/February, he's exactly the type of player we would target. So, keep him now, wait and see.

    Laine Scheif Ehler;s

    Connor Perreault Wheeler

    Tanev Petan Armia

    Matthias Lowry Dano

For every bright spot, there's a Kuale and a Hurl.

Winning record is pretty much from Willy getting benched, Macho getting hurt and Medlock's streak.

Regardless, Osh isn't going anywhere - Miller and Walters will get him on a three year deal...  then the same next year for Walters.

It's amazing they find the stadium each day with that type of blind luck.

They traded for Nicholls. They drafted Loffler. And they signed Medlock.

If we let O'Shea walk away, probably to be head coach in Toronto or Montreal, and sign a new head coach, guess how long the new coach's contact will be?

(hint: the answer is 3 years)

But ya, our current head coach deserves less than a guy walking in off the street...

Presumably, LaPo would be promoted again to HC, if MOS left.

    Hoping we can keep both!

Not sure how you'd justify taking Armia out for Thorburn.  Armia played his ass off again last night.  If he starts catching some breaks, he's going to be a big contributor on the score sheet.

He's definitely playing well but he really needs to start putting up points. I wouldn't put Thorburn in front of him but I was shocked at how few points Armia has in his NHL career, so far.

With the way he works, you would expect more. Just hoping he can contribute on the score sheet soon.

So its taken 20 years to figure out that they built the arena where people kept telling them not to build, so whose going to pay for a new arena that will cost upwards of 600m by the time they actual get it going in our nation's capitol?

No, everyone knew it was a terrible place to build. This is not new.

Tickets sales and attendance have been an issue in Ottawa for ages. Now, they're competing with the RBs.

I don't know if any of you are from Ottawa or if you've ever been there but it's a city full of total DUDS.  I don't know if it's all the politicians or what, but it is the least fun city with the least fun people.  I've been tempted to revise that opinion since the revival of the REDBLACKS but this just reinforces it for me.  I spent a significant amount of time in Ottawa and it was just.... boring.

The temporary revival of the REDBLACKS. With Ottawa, I cannot believe this will be long term.

That arena is in a terrible spot, which doesn't help, and the city has done nothing to help the process to get there.

Not traditionally if bought from reputable sources like popeyes or gorilla Jacks.. they are clearly defined on the packages..it's when you go outside the norm (online or "specialists") where the lines blur.  I myself have been using a post and pre workout for awhile and got middling results but if I wanted to spend more (and step into the grey area) I could get my hands on some stuff that is not "legal" for sports or competition but not illegal for me to purchase or use.

Problem is that it's an unregulated industry (for the most part). A supplement company, although 'reputable', could still have errors on their labels. Then you add in third party resellers like Popeye's or Gorilla Jacks, who have no idea what's actually in the products they sell, and you create an area of risk.
