    Covid-19

Just went at lunch to get my flu and Covid shots. Sobey's on St. Anne's seemed to be well stocked if anyone is looking for a place to go.
  2. Definitely sounds like old school Beatles... gives me similar vibes to While My Guitar Gently Weeps
  3. Yeah, lower turnout in my area this year (South St. Vital). We had 46 where we usually have around 90.
  4. I don't disagree with you... Those short trips, especially the Hamilton games, are not plane rides which is a huge advantage. Average distance per trip falls out like this: Toronto: 1174 Hamilton: 1233 Winnipeg: 1288 Saskatchewan: 1438 Ottawa: 1440 Edmonton: 1463 Montreal: 1498 Calgary: 1651 BC: 1978 And yes, I did factor in TD Atlantic this time.
  5. I didn't (totally forgot about it), that would have actually added to Toronto's total because that was technically a home game for them so counted as 0km, and just would have added to Saskatchewan's distance. It actually makes the travel distance even less lopsided than I would have expected for Toronto. Added it above now.
  6. This comment got me curious, so I did a very quick and dirty calculation on the travel for each team this year (regular season only). I factored in the distance (as the crow flies) from home stadium to away stadium. The distance travelled is quite a bit closer than I would have expected. By the nature of where they are, BC's extra travel isn't all that surprising, the closest stadium for them is Calgary at 672km, while Toronto has 3 stadiums closer than that. As pointed out by JCon and Bluto, I missed the TD Atlantic game. This adds travel for Toronto and Sask, putting Toronto's total up to the 3rd least travel by distance. Toronto: 10,472 km 11,742 km Hamilton: 11,097 km Winnipeg: 11,5879 km Saskatchewan: 11,876 km 12,943 km Ottawa: 12,956 km Edmonton: 13,165 km Montreal: 13,482 km Calgary: 14,860 km BC: 17,803 km
  7. I thought his throws looked a lot crisper than they did last year or earlier this year in the few games that he played. He had a lot of passes literally bounce off the receivers' hands that really should have been caught. Had they been, I think they would have been Montreal on Saturday. Having Tim White back this weekend, I expect that he will be more reliable and will give Hamilton a better chance to win the ESF.
  8. While I agree that Shiltz isn't very good, it looked like BLM was back to is old self when he played on Saturday. He was let down a lot by his receivers though so they may be the weak link for them more so that Bo.
  9. I picked the visitors in both games this weekend. As much as Calgary's offence has sputtered, they pulled out that win in BC 2 weeks ago and I think they can do it again. For Hamilton, I felt like Bo Levi Mitchell's throws were looking a lot more like the old Bo, but his receivers were letting him down. I think with Tim White back in the lineup this week, Bo will have better support on the receiver side and that they will be able to pull off the upset in Montreal.
  10. On that note, I hate that Awe and Simoni Lawrence are the nominees from their respective teams. I always hate how TSN pumps them up to be these great players when they both have a reputation of being dirty with garbage after the whistle.
  11. I feel like Betts slowed down a bit towards the end of the season. As much as TSN made a big deal out of the plays he was making, I'm hopeful that the voters are a little more objective and see that Brady was consistent all year in what he was doing. I'd say the same with Chad Kelley as he had a few down games where his D bailed him out.
  12. The only one I feel confident in calling is Stiggers for Rookie. Tough call on who the voters will chose for the rest of them.

  14. Something to the effect of having fond memories of ending Saskatchewan's seasons early. Got a good cheer from the crowd.
  15. I think that if they had gone with Ford earlier in the season, they would have challenged for the 3rd playoff spot.
  16. Lots of rich (but they'll tell you they barely survive) farmers out that way... and in rural Manitoba for that matter. But the Saskatchewan farmers are all Rider fans and they show it when they travel.
  17. All I see with most people wearing smart watches is that they are constantly checking to see if they have reached their "steps" for the day or whatever notification that happens to be coming in. I'm sure there are some conveniences that come with that, but I like to be able to put my phone down somewhere and walk away from it for a bit to get away from the barrage of information and notifications. I don't need that extra stress in my life, so I don't think I will ever get a smart watch myself.
  18. Yes, but their recommendation is almost always to go to Urgent Care or Emergency.

    Covid-19

One of my co-workers has spent the last few days in the hospital due to Covid (vaccinated and boosted). Got it last week (tested negative until they tested him in the hospital) and lost almost 20 pounds over the weekend. Doing better now though. I will be getting every booster that comes out as soon as they are available.
  20. Absolutely love the Star Blanket W... wish they would use that on the helmet all the time. The orange jerseys with it on the front in the style of the blue alternates would be amazing as well. They've had the orange Ts and hoodies for a couple of years now... don't be surprised to see a good chunk of the crowd wearing them tonight, they do look great.
  21. Darby is definitely hurt... saw him walking around at the fan appreciation day and he had a very noticeable limp. Not to say that he didn't also play himself out of the starting lineup as well, but he is hurt.
  22. I feel like most resources mined in space will need to be processed in space and I'm not sure how much we would conceivably bring back down to Earth (until we have a space elevator anyway). I feel like the cost of fuel to ferry a ship up and back, not to mention the weight of the returning ship would be somewhat inefficient. From an environmental perspective though, I'm sure that mining an asteroid would be far more friendly to the Earth than the mines that we currently have.
  23. The players were at the stadium on Sunday to sign autographs at the fan appreciation event.
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Proud Boys are basically white supremacists right? If that's the case, why isn't their leader white??? Or am I missing something?
  25. Based on going 9 for 9 on wrong guesses so far, I'm afraid to jinx anyone... I guess I'll go with Prukop
