Not too concerned about under thrown balls at this point. Willy is still getting a feel for his receivers, getting timing down.

Not overly worried about potentially losing players a few years down the road. Such is the way it goes sometimes. There will always be player movement making others available too.

DL Rupert Butcher in the 6th...big kid, 6'5, 300 lbs. Impressed at the combine, hearing teams were interested in converting him to OL...hmmm

Not sold on Chychrun, his stock has taken a bit of a hit as of late.

They were poorly executed and there was no surprise they were coming.

Stafford played on the third line quite a bit. Stemp was on NJ first line. Stop with the Stempniak stuff. It's pointless. All he does is take a spit away from a guy like Armia or a bottom 6 guy cuz he wouldn't be playing 1st or 2nd line or PP minutes here. He was a rental. That's all he was. They got swept. They moved on. Time to move on. It's been more than a year now. Let it go.

I tend to agree.  He gives them options by playing either wing and he seems to have the highest upside.  Interviews might make all the difference but I also like the confidence and *swagger* he seems to have.  He's a bit bigger than Puljujarvi (though not by much) and a bit older (not by much).
A story I read on the hockey writers suggested Laine might even be converted to Center by some teams which is something I hadnt heard before.  And while Puljujarvi might be more creative, Laine seems to play a more NHL-ready game.

Laine is more of a pure goal scorer which is why I see Chevy taking him...that and even though he shoots right, is used to playing LW.

Protect them from what?  Do you honestly think that one team (Vegas) is going to grab any of our guys?  Really?  I'd hate to trade people just out of fear of losing them potentially in an expansion draft. Anyway, I think Myers plus Dano for an unproven D man, just because he shoots left, is just plain dumb.  I would totally lose respect for Chevy if he did that.

I agree that you can never have too many good centres... but keep in mind Connor is a centre... and Little and Scheifle are still pretty darn good players... then there's Lowry, Copp and a few other prospects for the bottom 6... so while Matthews would be a fantastic addition, I am very happy adding a high scoring, top line winger...
