  1. Which international do they sit to start Flanders?
  2. Ya. I think he figured that out. It looked to me that he was definitely going to but took another look and realized he couldn’t or shouldn’t. He didn’t waste much time on the other occasions. While that play scared the poop out of me he made the right call and survived. One isn’t always gonna see everything coming at them.
  3. Absolutely. Their D has been playing way better. Especially the front line. There is no way to say that Streveler would have done any better.
  4. The one big hit he took it looked to me that he realized it was too late so he had to brace for the hit. I would have to watch it again but hook-sliding would have put him in a more compromising position.
  5. The main positive to me was he didn’t force anything. I will give the coaches credit for this as much as I blamed them for it in the last two games. It was an efficient game and that was important to have at this point. The second half concerned me but I would put that more on the play calling. I remain concerned that no matter who is in the QB spot we still don’t seem to have receivers coming back to the ball. Our OLine was better but they still don’t seem to be the beasts they were in the first 8 games. This could be partly coaching though, could be.
  6. Until the Bombers beat a +.500 team I have to say that BC holds all the edge for making the playoffs. The Bombers hopes right now are slim. Again I base that all on what they have done to date. If they can beat Edmonton or Ottawa then I may be convinced that they could squeeze into the playoffs. If they do though I don’t expect they would win.
  7. It is gonna come down to our DBs. Reilly is a great QB, for sure, but he has some awesome receivers that often make him look better.
  8. He took a helmet on the side of the knee from a player at full speed that isn’t brittle. If you go back and look it is shocking he doesn’t get hurt more. The last time he was knocked out of a game he took a very hard head shot.
  9. Kinda depends which Edmonton shows up. I expect it to be close but the D is also gonna have to step up and not just the O.
  10. And I assume you think Streveler would have done better? Based on what? The one game he threw for over 300 yards? I agree that Streveler offers some skills that Nichols doesn’t excel at but people here have highly over-sold his production so far.
  11. mike Reilly can explain it to you. He is the expert. What he means if you have a good arm you will usually put it in a place only your receiver will get it even if it has to be a circus catch.
  12. Oh please. He found guys when he needed to and even moved more than he has all year. He didn’t force the ball once and only ate a sack twice. 0 ints 1 TD and a 118 efficiency rating you don’t get that if you are making bad decisions.
  13. LaFrance is no Harris but he is a bit more shifty. He had a few runs which he got some decent yardage when he should have been tackled. He also has some decent speed. What he doesn’t currently offer is the receiving skills Harris has. His blocking is adequate.
  14. You lead a boring forum life then :(. It’s way easier to step back, count to ten and move on to posts that fulfill ones need for confirmation that they are right.
  15. Fair point. All and all I don’t have a huge problem with the D-line but it could also be worked on a bit.
  16. Like I said Roh was a good signing. I knew that Westerman wasn’t coming back but they didn’t do enough to fill the gap and they cut a bunch of other guys leaving them shallow on the d-line. I just don’t understand their reasoning on this at all
  17. Because they felt it was more important to sign receivers, DBs, and everything else it seems than try and replace the defensive linemen we lost in the offseason. Roh was an okay signing but he is not on the same level as a Westerman.
  18. About as much as he did in Winnipeg. He has arm that he rarely uses because he can’t read quickly and has be trained to run more than pass.
  19. I wondered who and when they were going to do this. It’s really too bad they didn’t do this earlier when it was warmer or during the Banjo Bowl when you know you have a large crowd. Still glad they are keeping this going.
  20. That’s as annoying as when some of the Bomber players were caught on camera laughing and joking around on the sideline while getting slaughtered on the field. I didn’t expect players to be all mopey an dour but to be ambivalent about a trashing is a kick in the gut. I don’t even want to listen to MOS anymore win or lose because he really has zero to say. As annoying as terse as Don Matthews or Richy could be and as much as Berry offended some here at least you could count on those guys to not constantly blow smoke up your hiney. MOS only makes me wanna scream, run down from the stands and slap that smirk off his face.
  21. Well, I have to wonder is it that we have crappy receivers or is there something in their instructions of what to do when our QB is in trouble. Whether it is Streveler or Nichols and they roll out or not why is it we don’t have the guys finding the gaps. Is Loffler really a crappy safety or how is he being instructed? To me he isn’t the first safely we have had in the last few years that is invisible in the pass defence scheme. What the flock has happened to our Oline? They allow Jefferson to step back from the line into the passing lane unchallenged while two linemen watch. Has our HC deluded our players into thinking that everything is right and rosey when it is clear to many fans and “experts” they have their issues. A few years ago I couldn’t determine if it was insufficient playing or coaching that was killing us. Last year, despite the finish I thought we had most if not all the pieces to win. Now I just don’t know for sure because there just seems to be no transparency or visible leadership on this team aside from our local boys like Harris and Demski
  22. Yes, but winning or losing you can always spell out your starter. It is just not all that common now. Hamilton has had the opportunity to spell out Masoli and Calgary has had ample opportunity to spell out Bo. I just don’t get the stubbornness that coaches in this league have to spelling out their starters when they have the opportunity. Even the limited reps some of the guys had behind Nichols in the last few years helped. It really is just a mystifying thing to me.
  23. I can completely concur with this. I actually thought Nichols was doing better until he started forcing the ball in. I have to pass some the blame on to coaching in this case though because Streveler walked on and was doing it too. It is clear to me that both QBs are taking way too much of the weight on their shoulders and are repeating mistakes over and over. I am sick to death and have been of O’Shea’s smirk and generic responses. You can be critical and provide fans and press some answers without hurting the tender feelings of the players.
