  1. Since he likes NFL fantasy football, why not try getting him involved in CFL fantasy football? That way even if the Argos (assuming he follows them, since he lives in Toronto) tank, he still has a vested interest in the other games in a given week. Just a thought.
  2. Since moving to IGF the Bombers have sadly only had 7 regular season wins at IGF (2013 - 1, 2014 - 3 and 2015 - 3)...that said, I think if we have a decent home crowd turnout, and provided the Bombers don't shoot themselves in the foot at the start of the game, I think we've got a chance.
  3. It's great to see them get the W tonight, now we just need them to string a few together and gel as a team. Cautiously optimistic for next Thursday.
  4. I'm optimistic... games always start out 0 - 0 at least, so there's that.
  5. Just wanted to point out that the "-phobic" and "-phobia" suffixes imply fear of the root word i.e. fear of the Bombers. I don't think anyone should be fearing the team we've put on the field at this point...
  6. More Canadian depth is always welcome. Assuming you guys are right about pending injury news... some fresh guys - whether starters or just guys on the PR is probably not be the worst thing for this team right now. Of course, one would hope none of the unannounced injuries are to key players.
  7. Hindsight is always 20-20, even when Harris showed promise when he was in Toronto, there was no way to say he would develop into the QB he is now. Under that same logic we could also instead be saddled with Burris or Collaros who are both injured right now...
  8. If the bombers don't post back-to-back wins before the end of this month, it'll be two years since they posted back to back wins
  9. Fair point, tracker. I guess it's kind of a case of "pick your poison" really. That said, if we're going to have another year missing the playoffs, I'd rather miss them at 2-16 or whatever than end up being 5-13 or something. I always hate that point in the season when the Bombers start running out of games but they aren't mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Always makes me think of that part in Dumb and Dumber ... "so you're sayin' there's a chance!"
  10. Speaking of breakout WRs, whatever happened to Chris Matthews? I remember him going down south and having a good season with the Seahawks... is he still playing? Anyone know? As for coaching - I don't feel we should fire O'shea - by no means do I think he's good. Just long-term I think it'd be better to just let him run out the remainder of his contract and let him walk. I don't think a mid-season coaching change (be it week 3 or later) would result in us managing to make the playoffs, at least not with the current group.
  11. Unfortunately this season is already starting to look like the 2013 season in terms of how we're just getting blown out like this. We might be able to steal a couple of wins here and there when teams underestimate us, but from what we've seen so far this team has a long way to go before being legitimately competitive. The bigger problem this year though is if things continue on the current trend, the Bombers don't have a shiny new stadium to artificially inflate our home attendance numbers.
  12. Whichever week the July 21 home game against Calgary is considered - they have a tendency to do well (or at least better) when I don't go to games and I'm not going to that one. Also despite the game on Friday, I'm optimistic and still think this team could beat them if they actually played with some heart.
  13. It'd be interesting if someone could define the "cut-off" when the other team's defenses really start to let up - then you could just back out any subsequent offensive production after that and see the Bombers offensive numbers for what they really are. Even if you took the 4th quarter production out of both of those games it'd be a better indicator of how the offense is doing when you only include #'s from when the opponent's defensive unit was still competing at its highest level.
  14. As someone possessing a degree in statistics, I must respectfully disagree with the title of this thread. That said, most statistics (especially sport statistics) can be easily manipulated to suit one's needs... such as making the Bombers woeful offense look a lot better in the numbers categories than it has been through two games.
  15. Hi everyone, Long time bomber fan, been a season ticket holder since 2011 season. Gotta say I can't relate to some of the older members on here that remember better days for the blue and gold. Never seen the blue and gold win the GC but I look forward to it someday. Nice to meet everyone.
  16. Not with an 18-game season at least. According to a quick search on Wikipedia, the 1949 Hamilton Wildcats went 0-12-0. The most recent 'worst' season was in 2003 when Hamilton posted a 1 - 17 record.
