Id bet its no2. I think june jones is a bit out to lunch on the competitive balance in terms of qbs league wide and the value they draw in trades.

Willy certainly has or had shell shock. Even if he is over it, he is with montreal which will just have him relapse. And I dont think this is a place he could rebound even with out it. yeah manziel is a better prospect then adams. His floor is much higher. Potential is similar. Though if manziel has a solid season he will be back in the nfl. Adams is a guy you can build around if he turns out well. No other back up in the league is similar in quality to manziel. We have relative parity as far as qb talent goes right now. I have concerns about how our OL will play with out bond. But it should still be a good OL as long as bryant and hardrick are in play. Ie no newf at tackle. Ever again. Please god. the weapons and the improvement to the OL give us the chance to actually develop or re develop a qb. And also to manufacture some wins. The negativity that willy left with, and the beating he suffered makes me think he couldnt work in blue and gold. Crazier things have happened though. The kerwin bell deal ended up reversing it self maybe this will come about as well. If ross poops the bed again id hands down rather have willy.

based on what? the fact 3 teams have given up a bevy of draft picks and players for him in the past? Some how being on a team with a healthy starter that also happened to get manziel makes him less of a player? Hes been in the league for two years. Hes 25 years old. appeared in 7 games. He is hardly ruined, exposed or lost his prospect status. You just seem tired of hearing about him.

Agree on all points. I could possibly see a three way deal with glenn back here, adams to edm so they get back to a younger higher up side back up and conditional picks etc flying all over. Or that no one wants him to pay what jones wants in return. He really isnt a giant tiger. Hes a better prospect then ross and as good or maybe slightly better then streveler. He has been traded 3 times so far and each time for very good value.

the game is not very comparable to 28 years ago. QBs dont get records like pitchers in baseball. Weve seen average level qbs win grey cups and great qbs have terrible records/seasons. Weve seen guys like jennings and printers do well in their first starts, ricky ray, etc. ( jennings 2004 yards, 15 tds 10 ints in 8 games, ray 2991 24tds 9ints17 games player, printers 5088 yards, 35 tds-10 ints, 469 rushing 9 rushing tds.) We arent in a position where a rookie qb needs to go in an dominate, if they manage the clock and limit turn overs we can easily go 2 games over .500 through a weak stretch of our schedule. Yeah we would have to heavily limit the play book.

Apparently mbt has been killing it in TOs camp this year. If ross plays poorly or especially if he and bennett do or one gets hurt I could see jumping at one of these guys. But still not giving up a lot.

I think bennett would still have an out side chance to steal the start as well but yeah.

I heard jones had said he had two teams and that a deal would be done tnite. Could be him trying to leverage more out of a deal. I could easily see us interested, maybe bc or calgary. I could see edm wanting another young guy rather then glenn. Idk if montreal would jump back on that bandwagon. I dont see any one paying a great premium for him. I do like him though.

I think so too. usually if some thing like that happens its a greasy double switch, which cheeses off plenty of old heads in the cfl and generally isnt a great idea. didnt june jones say adams would be traded tnite? guess not...

The OL was mashed, still had hurl, bend but dont break no deep saftey play off spot locked up etc etc etc + the fever not the same team or situation.

our radio team spoils the crap outta us. Seriously. Doug, tait, and bob are the class of the league. A few other teams have a guy that caliber. None have 3. Weve seen great Ds carry meh offense through the regular season before. Edm, MTL, ham, and bc. Bc isnt significantly better then last year. Ham is improved but still a mid tier eastern team. Montreal...LOL. If we get semi competent QBing, and the D plays as good as they look and seem we can easily go 3-1. Ball control + ball protection. The three games after that are bc, tor and tor. After that its ham and ott. If we lose one to bc, once to TO and once to edm and beat the teams we should be able to beat on D alone we can be 6-4 (calgary before LDC) going into LD.

A third pre season game and TC inter team scrimmages would be nice. You dont really know if a back up can play till hes been the starter for two years though.

That isnt even our no2 ol. Thats like 3rd string and a couple 2nd stringers. In the past mos has stuck too long with nichols in pre season and in blow outs. It seems that has changed.

At this point it doesnt even look like it has to be just harris. Flanders, agustin, lafrance when healthy demski can run the ball some. But lot of running is what the dr ordered.

I dont think itll be back to montreal. Edm has KG backing up too. I agree about streveler. I dont think they are in a panic at all.

Have to keep in mind barker and reed are the biggest dopes in cfl front office history. Both have been nothing but a comedy of errors. Id do one of our firsts next year for adams. Maybe condition pick if he starts or is on the roster next year they get more etc.

Yeah I dont think any one worth bringing in so far as vets will be cut. Maybe we trade for vernon adams though.
