  1. Yeah its gonna be a huge improvement especially once they figure out traffic. Its great for the league to get nice new digs as well. Some of the venues 20 years ago were real poop shacks.
  2. Its text book ray. Can he still do it? Id bet my life on it. Can he stay healthy and continue to do it for even half a season? Not much of a chance imop. A lot of questionable health QBs starting in the league right now. Ray is the one id worry the most about if he was my starter. Not to mention that OL is still a weak link.
  3. I really look forward to seeing a good amount of time for the battle at qb2, the 2nd string ol (couple years ago that could have been our starting OL quality wise) hope fully lots of touches for the RBs, (would love to see normand get 5+ carries.) and of course the DL play. Soo little talk of the DL this camp. I really hope corney is improving. Plus butcher / ekakitie battle.
  4. I remember a wr joshu bostick lighting camp on fire only to be cut for long in the tooth vets under the ritchie era. Loved him, but no one loved him as much as he loved his guys. Tony ortiz of course. TC MOP 2 years running. Think he came back for a 3rd camp a few years later. I also remember an awful lot of vet days under ritchie, and a lot of TCF under taman. I remember blink just being a monster but fumbling soo much. A lot more scraps in camp back then too. Matt sheridan, brandon dyson during his short time here, we had some really nasty OL back then. Vinny sutherland is another one. Guy had great football speed (and good track speed too) but if he had to do any thing but go in a straight line it was a disaster. I remember waiting for wane mcgarity to get it going. Still waiting. The old K9 posts. Before became kamau incompleterson. Mostly i remember soo many poor quality back up qbs.
  5. Yeah i have no idea how that worked. I thought once a player signed up here they could no long be neg listed. Its a deal we didnt seem to hear about at the time. May have been some thing like we had a gentlemens agreement with MBT, they wanted him we were liking young guys like apodaca so they traded neg listers and ended the gentlemens agreement. I really dont know the rules around that very well. He's a db, if we want him im sure hes a beast. Thats the truth. I mean the riders picked a gooder off us last year. We had that QB from i wanna say syracuse who came in with a lot of hype and was very quickly cut. Went to the als n a couple other places. So far, we havent had much pan out at DE, wr, qb etc for rookies. But you cant knock the talent level of the guys weve brought in at those positions. You watch video and read up on guys you didnt know about and sit in awe most times at how talented the guy they dug up was. Or they bring in some one like davis and are left a gap "he is coming up here soo soon?" In the past under some regimes guys with a top tier skill or two, or prestigious college career etc would pretty much make the team or pr before camp began. It seems in comparison half the teams in camp under taman etc were TCF. Every one we bring in seems to have the ability/potential to start/star.
  6. http://3downnation.com/2017/06/07/neg-list-trade-with-bombers-lands-argos-intriguing-quarterback/ It seems MBT who went to that spring league thing down south was dealt to the argos. It says neg list, but i dont think that would be right since he had previously signed up here. Dunno though. Kind of an odd situation. Would much rather have apodaca then mbt though so it works out.
  7. wasnt it last year they talked about how all of them were treating it like a get together, hardly any one watching what was going on playing on phones etc and wanted to do better? I remember bob talking about it for sure. I wish tsn1290 would have westy n walby do TC reports.
  8. Being in a position to win a play off game in bc and locking up a play off spot isnt a small glimpse of hope. We were in a position to lock up a home play off game late as well. Whose said we have the best team in the west? If you look at the prognostication thread, most people think we are 3rd in the west again right now. This team isnt matt nichols deep. You could say a ratio breaker like loffler, though even if we lose one we have the NI depth to make up for that. As we showed last year when harris went down. You could say If bond goes down, though again we have a very deep OL. The turn overs from the D, and medlock carried us last year not nichols. Our system is about as back up friendly as it gets. And we arent at all reliant on big offensive out puts from our offense. The riders on the other hand are another story. You have a glimmer of hope (thats it really) with some OL improvements and a good young core of WRs. But do you think the riders can beat any team in the league with those back ups? You dont think we have depth behind nichols, but are clinging to the guy who couldnt beat our 2-3 stringer. Lefevour is a good back up. And a pretty ideal skill set to come in and run our offense if nichols goes down. You talk about how thin our QB situation is, but we are better off at QB now then last year and you guys are praying on 2 of our back ups (no2-3 and no4) to be no 1 and no 2... The problem is, you are comparing rider pieces to rider pieces in TC. The riders had a poor D last year, the 2nd string of that poor d vs the 2nd string of a solid offense with bennett is going to look inflated.
  9. http://www.nfldraftdiamonds.com/nfl-draft-diamonds-scouting-report-brandyn-bartlett-olb-tusculum-college/ "Strengths: He’s an athletic outside linebacker with good speed, balance, range and explosiveness. Bartlett has a violent mentality when tackling, and can cause a fumble at any time. With good instincts, he shows that he’s very disciplined against the run and the pass. He can diagnose a play pretty quick, and can close in on a QB at a fast rate when blitzing. He can disengage a blocker, and get to the ball carrier well, including the will to chase him down from behind. In pass coverage, Bartlett can stick to his guy when playing man, and can stick to his responsibility with good awareness when playing zone. He has the frame of a pro level outside linebacker." http://www.hudl.com/video/3/2609236/5721dc950c5e681224b725d3 Hard not to love the guy. Athletic, great size, fast with great cover skills, smart and disciplined. You really see in his highlights how football smart he is. I love that he doesnt sell out to make big hits, allways wraps and assures a tackle. Also how he attacks the ball.
  10. I would go to regina on a day OTHER then labour day. I would go a full day with out teasing the rider fans i know. I would listen to some one carry on about how great kenton kieth / corey holmes was and just nod. I would walk by the ticat fans truck that used to park by the stadium on game day and not think about trying to tip it over. I would forgive Ed philion. I would admit that brandon dyson was just as bad. Oh the things i would do...
  11. yeah really no reason for him to rush into a decision. Id do awful things for the bombers to some how get him.
  12. TUB <----------------------------------------->CLUB Too bad though, maybe he will be back to the PR during the season when healthy.
  13. that and focusing on high caliber people as well as players. Liggins is an athletic freak. 4.37 40 10'7 broad jump 42.5" vert. 6'1 210 is good size too. sure plays fast as well. Watching him run after some catches he sure seems to have potential to be a return man. Not to mention with his speed.

Now you cant deny claudia, idk who else she could beat? Dont like it but there just isnt much else to challenge JJ or claudia. Man soo happy for holloway! what a fight too! event got kinda slow with vitors fight but the rest of the card was pretty good. No leg kicks at all, was aldo betting on holloway too?!
  15. is there no rookie diary this year? I just remembered, was really hoping faith would do one this year.
  16. Idk if all those guys will combine for 18 games.
  17. Easily the strength of the team. I wouldnt replace any of our starting secondary. I like fogg as the extra DB, but roc could take a job. If you look at it on paper, the bend but dont break thing makes it look soft. But when you watch the games and factor in the amount of take aways that came from the secondary and how many of our points that set up its a no doubter. agree 100% on the 2012 team. That style of agressive play that paid off in 2011 is also hard to sustain. But this D is the opposite of that. Our turn overs werent crazy bounces for the most part. It was a product of loose coverage and great play makers. They were able to really play to either make a tackle. PKD, or pick.

The long awaited aldo holloway tilt tonight. Im a holloway fan, cant believe people bet on him as the favorite for a while though. Karolina kowalkiewicz vs claudia gadelha for first place loser to joanna champion. I cant see a 3rd gadelha JJ fight any time soon so im hoping karolina wins.
  19. I dont think collaros is better then first half harris. or pre first injury harris. Over all Probably the best of the bunch. Talk about a group of QBs i would NOT want to resting a season on. Durrant, harris, ray and collaros. No wonder the west is leap years a head of the east right now.
  20. Thats a good point. And I think the way our front office seems to do it and to work with our coaching staff is about as good as you can hope for. Dunigan in calgary is a good example of it going poorly. He was really doing all the jobs him self, and stretched too thin. I still think he would be great as a coach. But doing all those full time jobs is insane.
  21. I want to say at one point don mathews was doing DC, gm and hc duties. I think HC and GM is too many hats for one person to do ideally. It does happen successfully, its the way buono prefers to do it. Back in the hay day of ritchie and the don they did it too. But i think it can allways been done better by 2 people. Some Co jobs are a bit different too. For instance a guy like AC called his own plays for a long time. IF you are the OC in a system like that, and the HC its not as big a deal. Some HCs micro manage play calls on one or both sides of the ball as well. If you wear those hats, you have to have a great support system around you of coaches, scouts, and front office types and do a great job of having those people do what you are weak at and dont have time for.
  22. Thats some thing you can often work out with coaching and reps. Blink used to be fumble prone too. https://stats.cfldb.ca/ is that what you were looking for?
  23. Yeah thats a good point. Maybe they will start allen go ni else where and rotate him and lafrance.
  24. The nfl used to (IDK if they still do or not) have inter squad TC games. With 2 pre season games id love to see this. That or a 3rd pre season game. I might be too picky but i think 2 isnt enough and 4 is too many. Hes a gooder. Arent the riders going NI rb though? I like allen, would be great to see him as a true feature back. Though that role is rarer and rarer. And the way the riders have used the run game I dont see any RB having a huge impact for them. More touches for jeremiah johnson in bc is scary. Especially as that OL seems to be improving.
