  1. Id rather be tom brady.
  2. Some Interesting stats for the bombers and cats. 5 games in the cats are tied for the most Yards Per Carry given up on defense. Tied with the argos, the only team to give up more rushing yards then the cats. The bombers have given up the fewest yards by a mile, and the 2nd fewest YPC against. We have also not given up a rushing TD yet. The Pass D is remarkably similar for the cats and bombers. 1393-1330 passing yards against, 56.1 - 59.1 completion % against, 7.1-7.8 YPA, 4tds-8ints and 2tds-4ints. (the first stat in each category is the bombers number) The cats have 18 picks on D this year to the bombers 9. The bombers have the 2nd best rushing attack in the cfl, while the cats are 6th. The cats have the 2nd most passing yards and we have the 2nd fewest. Its a battle of the 2 best punt return teams, and 2 of the 3 best kick off return teams. A big factor will be the bombers are top 3 in avg and net avg punting where the cats are 7th and 5th respectively. hamilton have given up the 2nd fewest sacks and we have the 3rd fewest. The keys for us will be pounding the ball, limiting the pressure the cats get on nichols, and protecting the ball. Our special teams and run game look poised to win the field position battles. This one should come down to pressure and turn overs.
  3. The way id approach a guy like him isnt with raw speed. Plus our imp dbs arent slow guys by any means. Id shift vice coverages around on him. Have his db cover over and then show but drop kyrie or WJ under neath him, Or DB under and hecht over. Id play him physical. Hit him hard on every running play. Put his butt on the turf every play you can. Thats how you slow a guy down. Its better to show blitz and drop guys sending only 3 or 4 at masoli then to try to out blitz them. Ham schemes for banks very well. Dbs gotta fight through blocks and make him pay a price when he tries to go over the middle.
  4. Yeah could see one of the most explosive, but that doesnt grab clicks. You cant defend speed. Especially in the cfl. In years prior we heavily recruited extremely fast athletic defenders. But more lanky wrs with good speed then speedsters. Ill take speed/quicks over size every day of the week.
  5. If you get low quality supplements, even some mid tier stuff you can find contamination for a crazy range of illegal drugs. Supplements are a scary world.
  6. This seems the most likely reason to me for both biggie and mathews missing. Did mathews come back to the cfl to sit as a healthy scratch? I dont think so.
  7. I would agree. Walker has better top end speed. Lucky is still stupid fast in high gear. The huge difference maker is that Lucky is worlds quicker and more explosive in small spaces. His Change of direction is drastically better as well.
  8. Old people unite! In all seriousness the written word is a beautiful thing, when done properly. (see ed tait) But the world of print/type is mostly inundated with poorly written junk. The real nail in the coffin of print media isn't any thing electronic, its the dying out of the great beat writers. I didnt even make it that far.
  9. Perhaps some thing like the NBA where cfl teams can offer a super max deal (which would involve capping the amount a single player can earn, which would be good) after 3 years of service. Ive always thought teams should be compensated when losing a star player in FA that they developed. Like the MLB system, but not costing as much as first round picks. More neg list players and less for teams that sign more fas, stuff like that.
  10. Idk the financial details behind the lapointe lead group. But I bet that they are exactly the passionate local group that the team needs.
  11. Exactly what you want to hear, and what you expect to hear from a Mos team. Also, I reaaallly want us to beat the snot outta the tigernaughts.
  12. It does happen. Some or the bad angles I get. They were working to shut down the pass and did. Plus our secondary loves to hit. Hate arm tackle attempts though.
  13. Alot of those big runs came from arm tackles and bad angles. But it was already a route at that point
  14. Also missing the clear no catch on otts redzone drive. Plus all the late game holding calls on us
  15. Harris could be a star every game. Tough start and pulled through huge afterwards.
  16. Was thinking the same thing about peterrman he could start for most teams in the league. Hope lucky is healthy and we have to make a tough choice. Lawler played great.
  17. 1 Nichols. Good game spreading the ball around hitting spots best game of the year for him. 2 gaitor. Two big hits causing drops that would have been first down. A big sack and a couple good tackles in the box. Hh the crowd for forcing a time count when the RBS tried a fake FG that was working but got pushed out of FG range. Honorable mention to jeffcoat and WJ who had big games and got tons of pressure.
  18. D played big early then the o got rolling hope they keep it going
  19. When in doubt, dress more lbers. Seems to be the way it works around here.
  20. Once we get a lead no doubt he gets more and more conservative. He hasnt become aggressive by any means. Merely less conservative early with deep plays.
  21. On the whole we are putting up a lot less pass attempts and plays early this year because of explosive plays. I think its too soon and too small a sample size to say woli or demski are notably better or worse. But demski also is seeing less useage. Also dresslers production was fairly similar to whitehead as a wr. But with less high percentage plays to this point last year. Sts and field advantage has also been even better this year which contributes to the fewer plays and more scores.
  22. With the limited time from mathews, lack of use for adams and woli + lawler being a bust so far I wouldnt say this group is performing drastically better then what we had last year. Many reasons play into success and failure. I think with another year plop has gotten less conservative, nichols has eased into deep balls and improved slowly, and the offense and team as a hole expects to succeed. The teams mentality and level of execution has improved each year under this regime.
  23. My next jersey too Until proven other wise 100% lies. He said neufeld was gonna be good to go for the season opener, and he isnt even on the list of announced injured names any more.
  24. No way, death is too boney.
