  1. I really hope that the new CBA has profit sharing with the players, longer guaranteed contracts, and some changes to the global issues Hansen is suffering from right now.
  2. CFL calling it self a pedestrian product? Wow. The people in charge of the cfl are only limitless in their ability to get dumber, and do their job worse. I like the hash mark move idea. That would well be worth trying. Changing the length of holding is a terrible idea. The pass rush makes the passing game as exciting as it is. We already muddle through horrid struggles with holding calls that would just make it much worse.
  3. Cant blame him for harping on it tbh. We've all had points that stuck in our craw over the years, but very few of them had such a likely hood of killing canadian football. I think the best case scenario at this point is, significant enough fan back lash that the puppet masters have to about face and sacrifice Ambrosie to appease the masses. Mean while looking for another hapless stooge to fill the void. I don't think a comish has run this league since cohon. And I think that's what it needs. A real leader in a real position of power.
  4. Except he's played 18 games just twice in seven years. 100k base, + his 30k signing bonus, +15k for making the active roster, +5k for playing atleast 9 games. = 150k. That which is most likely leaves him tied for 2nd lowest max on that list. The remaining 6k would tie into playing all games, and likely divisional / league all star, or MOL. Just twice has yoshi been a west all star, and only once has he been a league all star. He's always going to be out shined by bryant for MOL.
  5. https://3downnation.com/2022/03/18/the-cfls-offensive-line-salaries-for-the-2022-season/ top 20 OL salaries in the cfl for this year. Bryant is no3, but 3 guys below him have a higher maximum contract value. So he could end up 6th. Couture is 12th, and the article points out that he has never missed a game in his 5 year career. Yoshi is 17th. Its been the best OL in the league since bond and hardrick drew in early in the 2016 season. And it's going to be the best OL in the league again in 2022. The elk have 3 in the top 20, the riders have 3, ott 2, bc has 2, ham 2, mtl 2, argos 2, and cal has 1. It feels like most cfl teams (other than cal and winnipeg) are fighting over each others guys thinking that dropping their 2 best ol for other teams with crappy ols 2 best ol will some how fix their ol.
  6. Man tre Ford ran a 4.45 40 and is getting nfl interest. I'd love to see him in the cfl with a good spread to run rpo
  7. Time for social media backlash from cfl fans. If they aren't stopped now we won't have a cfl in 5 years.
  8. Not like they once did. But they do. Really it's not a position you draft For nearly as much. Which means vets recirculate more. Check how many krs have tds in the nfl then come up here. An easy way is looking at cfl return men with nfl xp and check for tds. It's a tiny group I don't think any currently in the league. Once you break one you have camp invites for as long as you want. He's made over 2mil in the nfl. What kind of offer do you think it'll take 250k or more? He also becomes a prime candidate for the usfl too. It'd give him a chance to play right after in the nfl. At 30 a cfl contract is a career move. Meanwhile he qualifies for an NFL pension. Iirc the difference between 3 years of service and 5 years is 70k to 120k a year with the Max of 210 ish after 7. I don't see an incentive for him to come up north this year.
  9. I'm betting he gets more work as a kr down south this year
  10. Qft. Jackson Simmons and whop is a whole lot to be excited about. Looks like the best crop of young Imp wrs we've had in a while. Sure would like to see Meredith come back for camp and maybe draft another ni wr but the qbs are gonna have a great time in camp with all these guys.
  11. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/whop-philyor/32005048-4978-5891-7060-c4e4995ca099 https://ras.football/ras-information/?PlayerID=19053 This guy is incredibly quick and explosive. Combine that with the incredibly toughness and strength and he looks like a special get. Reminds me a lot of arland bruce.
  12. I dont think so. 1 do expect that eli will be back. 2, gray is better. 3, he'd have no chance of displacing one of our imp tackles. Finally he will probably draw too much money. No reason for a desperate team not to give him 100k range. What a gong show of a franchise though. Even with pinball around it feels like he's a puppet.
  13. Right? And how could they not at least trade him for a draft pick? He's 28 and would start for a couple cfl teams, (cough cough riders) He'd be a real good get for ott or bc too actually.
  14. https://3downnation.com/2022/03/14/argos-release-ratio-breaking-offensive-tackle-jamal-campbell-ahead-of-off-season-bonus/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook Argos cut their NI tackle to save 7500$ of roster bonus. Which im betting is because they spent their entire seasons worth of bonus money.
  15. https://www.cfl.ca/2022/03/14/steinbergs-mmqb-three-breakout-candidates-in-22/?fbclid=IwAR3xVelKbic84Qu4ILfA5ITCKOgcReuUNnFnk-o1lC2isn6U7SurPLPplXU Article on 3 predictions for player break outs. He picked Brady as one. I think we will continue to see surges of brilliance from brady and augustine and no true no1 rb in 2022. We could be splitting carries for a long time. In fact, I think that's the best case scenario. On D I think nichols, kyrie and sayles are the break out guys to watch. On O, Sheed demski and gray. Imo one of the wrs is going to join ellingson as an allstar this year.
  16. In isolation, maybe not. But given the articles written since the off season began, I'd say yes. Also the reported money in vs money out just doesnt make sense. Thats 87k for ba for the whole season, they don't factor in him starting out on the 6 game.
  17. Another day another 3dn $ - hit piece on the bombers. https://3downnation.com/2022/03/14/cap-crunch-breaking-down-the-salary-cap-situation-of-every-cfl-team-for-2022/ This alleges that we have the 2nd highest cap commitment currently. Being a shade over what the project the cap to be once the season begins. Given the fact we didn't hand out huge raises, and that we lost vets like Harris, Lawler, Adams, Kongbo, and Desjarlais, not to mention Castillo, I take this article with an extreme grain of salt. Plus, they report that BAs cap hit is just 87k for a full season. I wish the league would report actual cap numbers so we didn't have such untrust worthy stats. Collaros became the highest paid player, but only after 2 other guys restructured their deals and 1 retired. And his raise is still a fraction of what guys like lawler got. Looking at our roster I fully expect to see At least 1 more imp lber, 3 total DL, 2 total OL, 1 qb, 1 imp rb, and easily 2+ wrs. Possibly as many as 4 or 5 wrs. I think most of those will be first year guys, or none cfl starters. But I would be surprised if we didn't see another couple for NFL cast offs with high upside. And I don't think we will see any hesitation to offer a strong deal to guys like desjarlais, kongbo, alford and dobson should they come free. We also currently have 19 guys 25 or younger. Which is pretty crazy in the cfl. That's opposed to 16 guys age 30 or older. If any thing, we have the most game day roster in the league right now, and the ability to cut rookie contracts and save a ton of cash for a big name guy. I don't trust the reported numbers any more then I trust a riderfan with their attractive cousin. I would love if it leads to proper roster cost reporting, even if not reporting specific player deals. But don't try n tell me al those former all star WRs the elk signed are playing for league minimum. Or that BC has the largest warchest after the crazy huge deals they've handed out. Every one BC has signed has been a huge over pay.
  18. Ali has a tremendous leg and if his issue is fixable he will be great.
  19. Ali and legs are raw enough that they could improve significantly. The other two are pointless to bring in. Sergio stuck around here for most of a year with the best kicker in league history in front of him. When he was let go he went to another team right away and was medlock esq then found his way to the nfl. Hilarious to try and paint that as negative. Not to mention no Castillo no cup last year. I still hope lirim is back.
  20. I wish they'd bring him back to re honor him in the season opener since the riders interrupted his induction.
  21. Jalen Saunders looking to make a come back. I'd love to have him in camp on a low risk high reward deal.
  22. I just can't see a first round run on ol in this draft. And because it's a one ol prospect draft zerr will go higher. To bc probably with a Philpot in Calgary.
  23. Collaros could be too if he has a couple more years like last year.
