You’re never just fine shortly after a concussion. And even if you don’t feel wonky, you are at serious risk. Diagnosed concussion should be an automatic week off. Don’t want to see his career end on a concussion. Not if it’s preventable.

Ahh that’s right good call. really, would make sense to train 2nd globals to do it as well. We need to go on a kola diet. Yeah saw that. So many QBs are dinged already.
-
100%. If not, we need to be grooming an in house guy to do it more aggressively. I think it was Cadwallader who took over for him in first game, he was solid, I'd continue with that. Maybe even teach a guy like MCI to do it.
-
Yeah, I think the only area the Elk stand to challenge us is Dl vs our OL. Even their OL is banged up and got a few changes. But that dl, they got some guys who get after it. Yeah, If he was in a flex tight grouping or even further out it's a nightmare for defences. Do you put a lil guy on him? He might pancake then still come in and seal another guy. do you take a good dl who can 1v1 away from the play? I'd love to see some Eli motion. Really screw with defences.

Hopefully Laroux has a better game this week in his place. He was shakey, and got roughed up a couple times.
-
Tbh, a lot of people had a similar opinon of Mos as a player. And Wade.
-
Jokes aside, I would not hesitate to run 6ol with eli in on both passing and run downs. I'd much rather have him in vs the edmonton DL, than a banged up NI wr or Sterns(to get cooley on).
-
If any thing, it makes sense to keep any one banged up out after a short turn around week. Especially a guy like Demski. Similarly if you have any one like Adam’s last year who isn’t up to par on playing a longer than college length schedule in the year it’s a good time to move guys around. Every one a starter after all right?

I mean, it was week 3 of the regular season. If it were LD or later, He'd have a point. But undisciplined, sloppy play early in the season, especially in a Sask game, is nothing noteworthy. Fact is, with TCs being soo soft now, and vets playing a fraction of pre season, the first month of the regular season is the real pre season. Stephen A. has charisma? LOL, I mean he's got something Wilson doesn't. I think wilson views him self as a Bomani Jones type, but really is one of the filler guys who used to be on Around the Horn, who tried to fit in with bad hot takes and edgy crap but just swung and missed. I'll say, he had some points. I've seen plenty of bad games with thrilling endings up here. Way too many games where the refs take over. And I dislike the TSN presentation as much as anyone. But that's all low-hanging fruit, none of which is easily fixed.

That’s the damned truth. yeah he’s been every thing we could hope for. Love the way that kid plays. Idk what’s gonna happen him Logan but if he isn’t healthy soon vaval is gonna have it locked up for as long as he want.
-
Yep, he's the only one who is doing the tracking that fans get access to. I've seen him on the short-yardage defense set at end, but haven't seen him sub in for regular defensive reps yet.
-
Yeah, I think we should be looking to work 1 guy a week in for development. That way we don't get shocked by required change when injuries happen, or from too much change up front. Jones for Kyrie if the biggest one needed imo. He is, and he would be great at that. While still giving us the ability to cover a zone and not just have to hug the line.
-
If you look at things on the surface, it might seem that way. But when you delve a little bit into it, without even watching tape, you see the difference. That being, JJones was playing at an all-star caliber in 23, splitting reps with Wynton McManis. That's when he started 8 games, put up 49 tackles, 13 teams tackles, 7 sacks, and a pick. The injury derailed him the following year. Conversely, Tony Jones was an on-again, off-again teams guy who rotated a bit on bad defences and got a shot here when Biggie went down. The difference in play is night and day. Tony is very good at scraping to the ball and making tackles in the box. He's not good at coverage. Jonathon Jones is good at scraping to the ball, has exceptional range, and is as effective pass rushing as dropping back in cover. Best roster usage for today would be Tony plays Mac in running downs, Jonathon plays Wil. On passing downs, we sub Griffin for Tony, and slide Jonathon into the middle. Building a better team going forward would probably mean Ayers gets snaps over Jones. I don't think Ayers is far behind Jones currently, tbh. I wouldn't expect him to be as reliable immediately, but I also don't think he can progress just by covering kicks. Jonathon Jones is our best Lber. Kyrie is our worst. Tony is situational.
-
He isn't, though. tony jones is a pure liability in coverage. He's worse than biggie was. really, watch him in isolation on coverage plays. He never gets to the right depth or spot. Also, JJones isn't some rookie. This is his 4th season, he's played 36 games in the cfl and started 18. Tony jones is 2 years older, been in the league 1 year longer, played 34 games and started 17.

Yeah that’s a big one. Kelly, makonzo, and Peyton will have an impact on the ar when healthy. Unless vaval keeps the kr job.
-
It’s true, but not all players are willing to do that especially long term. id love to see one of the pr/ir guys get in this week. If we keep to a one a week pace we will be in good shape in no time roster wise. I feel like if wj is gonna be suspended, it’ll be quick. The longer the week goes with out it the better chance of a fine imo.
-
Tempted to say eli. Either be gloriously right or go out first. But instead I’ll say wheatfall.
-
You can, but he has to agree to go on the IR. If hes not injured you cant make him go on the IR. Which is where he is, but he has to be updated roster wise this week.
-
if that happens it is entirely your fault. Not really, but still I dont even want to think about it.
-
I'm a big believer that Masoli is the next blue chip QB coach / OC prospect in the CFL.
-
Ayers would be a great fit, but Griffin, I like, would be wasted. He's too good at coverage. Broken record, I know, but I would try in practice using Shay/Smith in a rotating spy role. Not only can you use them as a spy, but you can put them in an intermediate zone, or cover hook/curl/flat stuff. That would also allow you to go with a full imp DL.
-
Same, and I do think it will be a good fit. From all accounts, Jackson and Zach have always had that mentor-mentee relationship. He's an excellent coach, and football mind, with them going so far back Im sure Zach will get the most out of it. Especially if he wants to keep playing past this year. He's going to be a great resource for Wilson and Strevy to.
-
We did with him and rourke, and maybe a bit faj or vaj. Kyrie was doing it. It was a fairly deep spy though, not right on the line. Thats true, but JY seems to want to blitz more this year. And to be fair, his DB/lb edge packages are reasonably effective.
-
I'm hoping that he was rusty and out of rhythm due to the messed-up start to the year. He certainly looked better in pre-season. I mean, with Jackson, yeah, it would just be happening. Overall, I think they are getting to a point where they would have to say you can't do this stuff anymore, Zach. We have to re-fit the system with stuff you can do. But I don't think they would be willing to accept that at this point. Keep in mind, 2023 was really the only hot start to the year for Zach as a blue bomber. These are his first game stats as a bomber. 2021. 18/28 217 2 tds, 292 2 tds, 204 2tds 1int. 243 0/0. 245 1/1. 2023. 354 3tds. 293 2 tds. 191 1int. 177 2tds 1int. 2024. 209 1int. 285 1int. 247. 55 1int. So this year's 179 2 and 2 is kind of on brand for him as a start. We really can't wait a month for him to get going though.
-
I think some of this is caused by his reduced mobility. He doesn't have that escapability gear anymore. Combine that with being one of the most physically battered QBs of his generation, and you get panic in the backfield. He's not late stages matt nichols, but mentally I don't think he has been able to adjust to the fact he cant frequently out run ends any more.
