  1. tough throw, but hit his spot. wilson didn’t pick it up soon enough and fought his body on the catch attempt
  2. yeah if he dials in a bit more he’s gonna be solid.
  3. lawson has struggled to adjust to being in position but not getting too handsy. that was an improvement though
  4. the cc does what it wants though. we’ve seen lots of over turns this year on plays that are clear in slow motion but not in game speed

  16. The new gm, has to be authoritative. If that happens, they can force the HC to change and grow. I don't think you can burn it all down and compete next year, or maybe even the following year. Where our franchise is now, I think being a strong steady play off team but not the front runner is good. I don't think the fans who've jumped on board since 19 will stomach a return to the bottom. We have already bleed out from teh bottom up. Most of our front office and half our coaching staff has been replaced. It's really walters and mos at this point that are long term hold overs. Guys like danny don't have a ton of time in the room, and Hall has been semi retired for a long while now.
  17. Could've, even before the cap increase. And even if we didn't want to give him that money, they should've dealt with that situation a lot better than they did. The case one point made me wonder, what would happen if you flipped the popular appologists arguement about guys we dont play/cut? Their claim, why hasn't "X" player gone on to become an allstar else where? Which I've countered many times by saying in league scouting is terrible these days. Look at bridges getting picked up but Dandy hasn't. Where are the allstars that should've developed from the guys we've repeatedly kept around? The guys like Case, Johnson, Bridges, etc. I'm sure plenty would counter with, well walters et al aren't bringing in a high enough level of talent. But why have our back ups given other teams back ups all they could handle while our starters struggle against the other teams starters in pre season? Why are teams going after our imp cast offs, but not our NI cast offs? How is it we have managed to un earth guys like wilson, Wheatfall, Clercius, Vaval(as a KR), Smith/shay, Griffin, Jay person, Tony jones, Cam lawson, and Matthew peterson? That is a lot of young talent from every avenue available that are good contributors, many of whom could do much more for us if we let them. Look at our depth chart. Look at the guys who are Penned in as guarenteed high rep starters who shouldn't be. The Kolas, thomas etc. Then look at the guys we've managed to dig up who are good in the last 2 years. Then look at the remainder of good roster guys (cadwallader to nichols etc). That doesn't leave you with spots for guys to play. No matter who we bring in and what they can do. The guys who've stepped up and excelled, have only done so due to injury. None of those guys came up and took the job of a vet. No one passes a guy above them on the depth chart unless they get hurt or cut. You can't beat a guy ahead of you on the depth chart here. No matter how he or you play. Rant off.
  18. Yep. I think our best chance is by leaning hard into what our secondary did in the 2nd half of last year. Drop every body, play tight as you can on the bottom and blanket the top. Forget blitzing, save for maybe a couple DB blitzes off the edge if you think you can sneak a guy home. Forget a 40 man front. Forget fielding 2lbers. Get all the DBs on, and drop them into cover. Hell, drop WJ back into cover since he's playing pass lanes any way. Bill bellichick used a 2, 1 and empty front a few times. And it worked very well in limited use. Today is that day. If hamilton isn't gonna run, put dbs out and drop every one. You could put WJ, woodbey, and tony jones on the line and drop them each back for a hand full of snaps in the game. Very good chance to get a pick, or force a throw away.
  19. Imo, it is easier to replace a GM than a HC. Also, the GM is the boss of the HC. The HCs sustained failure to field the best game day rosters for soo long, having lost us GCs, speaks volumes about walters being willing to be Mos boss. If walters isn't able to get his team to do the most basic competitive action, changing coaches won't fix that. In order to fire some one, and remain competitive, you have to have succsession. If we fire walters, and promote Danny, we only need to fill in a scout. If we fire Mos, we have no one on hand to take those reigns and move us forward. i don't see any stellar next man up candidates around the league either. You're basically hoping for a dinwiddie type guy to get fired. Which might not happen at all.
  20. You forgot Kola recovering a fumble and running 99 yards for a td. It's not impossible that we make the play-offs if we lose this game, but it becomes very likely if we do. That's why it's a must-win, and not a mathematical elimination game. The worst team in the league is within 2 games of us. Who also happens to be playing BC, 1 game back of us in the west. The other 2 worst teams are playing each other as well. So while we will gain ground on 2 games or hold steady at worst, that will be with the worst teams in the league. If we want to recover this season, we gotta start with this game here. We aren't likely at all to win out, and we aren't going to maybe get back on the right side of the W column next week and control our play off destiny. I think the opposite is true. I don't think we can replicate the out come from our D last week. We've played SSK a ton, it was the home game BJB, we had every intangible headed in our direction to win that game. Vs hamilton, we have'nt played them and when its O vs D, that is a major advantage to the O. They aren't going to run it down our throats, and we aren't going to pressure blm. Man, sucks about Ted. He was such a great, classy guy, football mind, you name it. **** cancer.
  21. That needs to be investigated by the league and PA.
  22. Keys to the game? Key 1 is this is a must win game. But more than just a win, we need a momentum builder, a jumping off point to finish the year strong. Key 2 with Zach out we need a strong run game. It's going to be harder with vanterpool off, and with Shades calling the plays on O. But we need a monster game from brady. Key 3, Tackling. We can't give an offense like hamilton free or easy yards. We need to wrap, tackle and gang tackle on first contact. Players to watch, Brady, OL, Wilson, Demski, Mitchell (needs to step up and earn his spot or lose it), Wheatfall (needs to re find his early season form and bring the premium play his position demands) Kyrie (how healthy is he, will he diminish being banged up) Person (will his reps on D manifest or will he ride the pine) And houston (will he be the gambler or has he wisended up)
  23. I get what you're saying and I don't entirely disagree. Though in a championship game, a back up qb should not beat you. Also, I don't think Arbuckle was the guy last year he is his year. I'm also not entirely sure how much of his performance is putting up stats on a bad team. MTL was really well coached as well as toronto, If we didn't spot each of the last 3 GC competitors with significant roster advantages, we could've won all of em. especially if our prep, execution, and game plans were on par with what we played against.
