That was the 3rd time we played them in our last 5 games, though. going 0-3 by a total deficit of 43 points. The last game in a series like that should be the hardest for Calgary to win. Dropping back-to-back games vs the same team by 21 points each, then 2 games after that dropping a 3rd by 1 point isn't a positive for us.

i didn’t hear of any practice reports this week. combine that with the 4 days between games with 2 flights, plus one day of film review from last week and i bet the “walk through” was mostly airport/hotel. It was probably two days of film and team meetings to unpack the last game and install for this week. I can’t see any significant changes in execution, prep, tackling etc.

Why does reality insist on being so assertive? Just gets depressing! Anyway, any given game day. ott despite having some good pieces, is not a scary team imo. You can't allow yourself to play down to them; they eat that up. But I don't think they have the grit to win tough, ugly games against us.

Boy, that looks like a tough depth chart to expect much out of. It'll be interesting to see if Smith or Allen gets decent reps this game, or if it all continues to go to Kelly. And we waste another di, again. Best hope for this game is Ott finds a way to struggle against us. It's tough to put up back to back big offensive out puts. Keys to the game, Find a way to slow down Ottawa. Secondary looks shakey, and ottawa has a good group of wrs. Plus brown and stanback. We can't win a shoot out here, so the D has to find a way to drag ottawa into an ugly grinding game. Find a way to sustain offense. We have to find a way to keep drives alive and stop going 2 and out. Teams X factor. Special teams is really where we aren't banged up, and have a lot of roster value invested. Vaval went off a few games ago, and Sergio has been outstanding this year. We will need that unit to pave the way today. Players to watch, Vaval, Lawson jr, Kramdi, Smith, Allen, Kelly, Jjones, Adams, Ayers, Mitchell, and always Qb1.

cam allen imo. we’ve seen the last few weeks the importance of having at least a stop gap cover guy on the bench. be nice if makonzo was good to go. i don’t mind seeing more rope for kelly to learn and grow at S. I’d rather see woodbey, but having a bunch of rookies in their first couple games isn’t ideal.

yep 1 year. idk i feel like guarantee has changed, i think teams can offer as much as they want. soo many changes hard to keep track. But unless atleast one of walters/mos is gone it might as well be guaranteed. turd sandwich of decisions, but i’d do the same.

Unfortunately, the round of musical chairs has ended at qb in the cfl, and we are left in a bad spot. I think Edmonton is the only team in the league as un sure of its qbing present/future. I don’t think any other team in the league would want to be in our position. That’s why I think our best chance at a shake up is trading Chris. If you can get a Powell, mbt, etc back up and deal with hogan that’s the best shot we’ve got. I like Strev and I think he could give us a solid offence if built around properly. But we don’t have any of the building blocks or system. I don’t think we are just in trouble this year at qb either. I don’t see any one we could get in the offseason that is a real qb1. I think we are going to be looking at guys like arbuckle for a while. In this era of the cfl, you can’t really expect the better teams to develop your next wave of QBs like we used to. They’d develop em, and if they didn’t take starting spots bad teams would give them a chance. The pipeline is soo dry that’s an extreme rarity now. It only gets worse with us being very hesitant to pull starters and give young guys a shot even in blow outs. what do you think changes next year? We already locked him up. We should be looking at him but unless we see a mafia shake up I don’t think that happens.

You just said he isn't going to be cut. So realistically, all his dollars are guaranteed. It sounded like they ran back the terms from this year of his deal. So I would expect 600k, with an off season roster bonus in the 100k range.

The upside with MBT, is he worked very well with jackson.

Fact is, our Ni wr depth has been that bad for a long time. Corcoran has some limited use potential, woli was breaking down by the time big kev stepped up, and demski is always a struggle to stay healthy. A few years back, we invested a lot in the draft at WR, we didn't do much with those guys and ended up not really putting in that investment again. We've done a good job of re stocking NI depth at DB/Lber, but we need to get back in on DL/DE, WR and OL is always a restock position.

He spent the whole offseason busting his butt with lecharles bentley, who does exceptional work with OL training. It sounds like he is looking really good early in lions camp, itll all come down to health and PS play imo.

That would be good. Schmeck would have a bright future on the OL imo. I like Vibert; he's raw, though, needs polish. Idk how you can be worse than Kola, though.

And maybe multiple guys at that. If the Als lost Alexander and MBT for instance. Even then, most of the teams around the league have a decent vet back up qb, who are significantly cheaper. Faster release than any of our QBs have flashed. That makes me optimistic and sad at the same time lol. That's exactly how you hope a guy who has to really get used to a faster game speed will respond. Now, we just need to see him get about 10x more pre season snaps in the NFL lol. Same guys who were gonna save the XFL3.0/UFL in the first place, and the XFL had a billionaire owner each time it failed. I've got no confidence in redbird/rock etc. If they had a plan worth any thing, they would've announced part of it with the exodus of an entire division to reduce some of the blow back.

Vanterpool is best off continuing to groom as the T, Stan has been on his last leg for a while now. But it doesn't hurt to have multiple guys ready to step in to a position like C.

I don’t think any one would give up any asset for zach. Especially not on that deal and with a year next year on the books. Any team that would want him would wait it out for him to be released.
