  1. Cap isn't applied till the teams first game active roster is submitted to the league. Like Jcon said, you'd cut guys to make him work. Be it regular season or otherwise. Teams also don't immediately spend the entire cap as well. Some reserve has to be left for PR expansions, nfl cut down guys etc. Our cap is likely the most flexible hard cap of any sports league in north America.
  2. I don't think they have a chance with their current room either. The als won with fajardo but he would be huge for them. Mr 6 pick 7 sack vaj would be a target as well back in bc. I feel like itll be hyped into ssk and toronto, though I don't think he will be back this year by any chance. Diesel had one big year and I feel like teams tried too bank on him being that guy but he never managed to repeat it. He did, but we did the same with brady, blink, and harris. Thats kind of the nature of RB in the cfl imo.
  3. Who will be the prime destination I wonder. Riders for click bait? Hamilton is the team that could use him the most imo.
  4. They played together 2 years. In which time drummond put up 1632 rush yards to millingtons 1815. Both put up about 10k yards from scrimmage in their career. Anderson put up almost 10,000 yards just with rushing. Anderson out rushed drummond by 2200+ yards in the same amount of years. All 8 years over 1000 yards. Anderson had 3 years where he beat drummonds career high in rushing yards, and anderson only broke 1k twice Once, just barely as well. Anderson had another 3200 yards recieving. Combine durmmond and millington and you have a career better than anderson, either alone is pretty comparable but nothing even close to anderson.
  5. I wonder who the best OC buck worked under up here was. Im imagining it wasn't a bunch of elite offensive minds calling the offence. I think he was mainly the starter when Dorazio had his stint as OC in BC.
  6. Yoshi got whupped by speed off the edge like a green hs kid too many times. I love the guy and he can still drop people in the run game but he can’t play T in pass pro or stay healthy. And that’s at best. he’d still make most of the dbs look lost in one in ones. But if any one is coming back let it be bob. Cole legit might steal a spot.
  7. Even if he came back, it would’ve been one of the most miraculous recoveries ever if we was the same guy again.
  8. NFL cuts, which leads into the trade dead line. Plus fact is 2/3 of those guys don’t have a contract. Decent pro rated deal could bring them back mid season as well.
  9. We played with out 2/3s of those guys for more than half of the last two plus years. That significantly reduced any possible drop off. The portion of baileys touches that go to lawler demski Schoen or Brady will immediately be an improvement as well. we had bigger production games from guys who aren’t here any more than were had from Bailey. Talent level of replacement players is never the problem with imports. Bailey was deservedly loved but was a role player, an easily filled role at that. One normally filled by nis. Grant was a great role player but we don’t need the most dangerous return man in the league with our offence. We just need a capable one. And the amount of snaps jj played the last few years he was really a role player at a stars salary. I expect us to be more consistent by ld and better off from moving on. Same with moving on from yoshi. This is how contenders stay on top and improve. How many times did the stamps lose key fas here or to the NFL and then find the next guy?
  10. It’s not like hockey, you need that across the board in football. I also have no concern about us finding that in their replacements. No matter the performance of their replacements don’t bring it they’ll be cut.
  11. Grant and jj got moved on from because they couldn’t stay healthy. Bailey was good but you can’t pay a role wr big money. We already have soo much tied up in demski lawler and schoen we just can’t afford another premium salary wr.
  12. wasnt Coleman like second highest career defensive tds or some thing? 6 time divisional all star 3 time league all star at corner plus 3 time divisional all star as a kr. 28 picks 6 returned for tds plus 7 kr tds. Had good longevity as a kr and cb but certainly wasn’t the same guy here that he was in his prime. But he was still a good player. hard to say and db is harder to pick hofers at imo. He was a better db imo than Drummond a rb for their careers.
  13. Even in pass pro it is soo much more important at T than guard. You can cover for a guard pretty easily too with a good T or C. the difference between grant, and every one else was gigantic. I don’t think we need some one to make us forget grant, I’m not expecting a multi td kr this year. Maybe no kr tds. But at least we need some one cover teams have to work to cover, catches the ball clean as much as possible, makes the right decisions, and gets north south asap while gathering respectable yards. Couple of the guys we brought in with kr experience looked good in college. So I’m hopeful. Personally, a kr/wr who can run some sweeps opposite of Demski and start at wr while returning is the dream. Saving a roster spot, especially a di is as good as being game breaking. we could spell a starting wr in coverage some with guys like ford. I’d love to see clercius and MCI get reps at returning kicks too.
  14. The 7 games in 2021 was the single most dominant dt display I’ve seen in the league since Doug brown. The 19 season was good though we rotated a lot more imps then. when fajardo walks into a kitchen he still can’t bring him self to look at the stove. He just averts his eyes and slinks away.
  15. With rookie camp starting soon, it’s a fair time imo to evaluate the off season. We didn’t have the flexibility to bring in vets at vacated spots but our recruiting has been stellar. We filled our gaps and rebuilt our ni depth and pipeline. I’d give it an A-. A+ would require a good vet at de or db or a replacement punter. Best qb talent in the league despite losing the best back up qb in the league. We’ve got the present the future and the long term future sealed up. I think we will see Roty competition from db and de.
  16. Stove isn’t fat, but it’s an awful injury for such a big guy. He’s stocky af. His game is predicated on the explosive first step too. I don’t blame them at all for giving him a shot. He’s worth a flyer. But he’s a long shot to say the least. Pretty much. I’d take Kongbo over menard. And neither is likely. We don’t as much need a ni de now though. We’ve got dts, and dbs with 6 starters on offence and we don’t have to burn a di any more. Realistically we could use our 3rd imp wr on the kr too. We can easily di a 3rd de to rotate.
  17. Agree. He’s one of the more raw guys at the top of the draft. Incredible talent, athleticism and the right mind set though. I can’t imagine him missing here with Marty and our system. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more 3-4 end types succeeding up here on the edge. Teams have been adjusting to run fits that pull sam/dhb/Ss into the box. An easy way to cover fits with out pulling dbs is to run guys who can play more than a gap.
  18. Yeah I do love the bigger des we see now. Guys rolling a lean athletic 265 range shed a lot easier than the undersized edges we’ve seen for a long time. Dl is gonna be a great battle to see. Probably the biggest position to watch. As goes the line so goes the team.
  19. With his athleticism and needing to trim down a bit I’d be very confident Marty Costello can polish his footwork and that any foot speed issue is purely mechanical. If the near future of our interior ol is Dobson, Eli and Wallace that’s pretty darned good. He should probably be dropping 20-25 lbs, crazy to think how much more explosive he might be then.
  20. https://www.frogsowar.com/2023/12/14/24002156/football-tcu-dl-rick-dabreu-declares-for-the-2024-nfl-draft dabreu looks like the type of guy we’d play inside and out. https://pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/football/roster/david-green/12580 green has played some nose, 2, 2i, and 4i in 30 fronts. Has a good motor, and that versatility is huge for how we run fronts at our best. Not sure he has the push to excel, but he did play very good competition, it’d be bazar for him to dominant come out and not get a look.
  21. We got a class full of blood n guts fifo football players, but with lots of upside and talent. Going to be a fun group to watch.
  22. Yeah. Only way I see either sticking around, other than getting moved to ol which isn’t needed, is if Thomas retires or gets hurt and is out for a good while. Especially since we will have the roster flexibility to carry a di dl again full time.
  23. 100%. I think the possible hold back will be having 3 ni Ss on the roster. Previously I thought we would platoon ford and Kramdi. But If they keep kramdi at Sam and start ford at corner it could make sense to keep the extra ni db on the ar. I had hoped we’d look at Karamoko more on the ar this year as well but we don’t seem to be seriously looking to replace Sheehan. But I suspect we will keep a global lber playing teams instead. Weitz should have a quick easy transition to playing teams up here though ogbeveon sounds like he has more upside. I can’t imagine smekle beating out Samson. His ability to beat guys and separate deep was surprising. And he’s smoother than you’d expect with his role type. Pretty excited to see what he can do, I love that mix of talent athleticism and character. Kept woli here through some really low touch seasons.
