  1. The same Matt Coates who had 100 yards receiving...? Yeah, how terrible. Could the offense have been better on Sunday? Sure. But you can't tell me the production it did manage is worthy of the harsh criticism you've given it, much less your claim the offensive system is a bigger issue than the defensive one. That is garbage and you know it. As for the defense, system and personnel were both issues, as we saw during the season. However, the former (under the guidance of Hall) has been here for three straight seasons and the results have been much of the same, despite different personnel. Rookies (Alexander and Walker) can improve; veterans (Hurl) cannot. It's time for the system to be replaced.
  2. Yeah, I was there. I saw a defense get clowned badly in the third quarter, and it wasn't just the rookies making mistakes. Five straight possessions by the Eskimos all resulting in points. Hilarious how you can give Hall a pass on his players for not executing but when it's the offense, it's all LaPolice's fault. You're not fooling anybody here.
  3. So did the Eskimos. What's your point? You're clearly getting emotional, so trying to have a rational discussion about the offense would be a fool's errand. The fact you called LaPolice a loser is evidence enough you lack impartiality on the topic.
  4. Thanks for proving my point. You must be on some solid fumes if you actually believe LaPolice is a bigger problem than Hall. That's gotta be one of the dumbest and most ignorant comments you've ever posted. Did you even watch the WSF...?
  5. Except he'd have to clear waivers first. Sucks to see Lemieux go back down (I liked his play with the big club), but the writing was on the wall the minute Perreault was ready to return.
  6. Gotta keep the home cookin' fires burning at BellMTS Place. Not to mention having Jets royalty present tonight.
  7. It's truly amazing how you pull no punches whatsoever in your horribly biased opinion. The Bombers had a top offense in the league this past season and that helped them post a 12-6 record and host a home playoff game, one in which said offense performed very well. Objectivity isn't a strong suit, eh?
  8. Hall was an upgrade over Etcheverry. Now it's time to find an upgrade over Hall. The only issue with the players I can see is they're not buying what Hall is selling. But is anyone...? Besides Vega, that is.
  9. The offense generated nearly 500 yards of total offense on Sunday, and you want to blame the OC...? That was the team's best offensive performance in weeks. How was it "held back"? The Eskimos, OTOH, had five straight possessions after the half and all five resulted in points scored. The defense, namely the man in charge of it, is what ultimately let the team down again in a second consecutive post-season. Seriously, though this ongoing narrative of yours where LaPolice is constantly enemy #1 in your books - even when there is a mountain of evidence to the contrary - is bordering on weird.
  10. Felix Menard-Briere. I'm sure he'll be at TC competing for a starting role next season. Should be interesting to see what happens with the kicking situation next season. Medlock won't be getting the $185K he did before, IMO.
  11. The title of this thread just ain't right, man... I love Matt Nichols. He came to play on Sunday and left it all on the field. He had an incredible season and played through struggles and injuries, always giving it 110% every snap. He epitomizes the character of this team and has established himself as a top pivot, a leader, a great team player, and a damned fine human being. I can only hope the Bombers release an alternate jersey for the 2018 season. His name and number will be on mine. (or failing that, just a road jersey with his name and number)
  12. What was wrong with LaPolice's offense this season? Not much until injuries mounted later in the season. Nichols, Adams, and Harris all had career seasons, so how is LaPolice not good at his job, much less in comparison to other OCs in the league? The offense was among the league's best and hands down the brightest spot on this team in 2017, so I'm pretty sure the OC deserves at least some credit there. What was wrong with the offense on Sunday? Nichols: 35/48 (72.9%), 371 yards, 3 TDs. Harris: 7 touches for 120 yards. Dressler with 100+ yards. Coates with 100 yards. Nearly 500 total yards of offense. That's more than sufficient to win a playoff game. The offense did more enough all season and in the playoffs to give the team opportunities to succeed. Hall's defense is what let down the team in the post-season. Same as last year. It's cliché but it's accurate as hell: defense wins championships.
  13. Or in the case of the current regime, 4 years. I don't understand why Miller, Walters, and/or O'Shea should be held accountable for a drought that started 23 years prior to their being hired.
  14. If players are out of position based on the system/scheme, they'll be put into disadvantageous positions including, not limited to, blown coverage, missed assignments, and missed/whiffed tackling. From a pass coverage standpoint, Hall's system has continued to fail. Even with changes to personnel.
  15. Statistically, the defense was worse in the first 7 games than the remaining 11. The system is flawed, though. The same issues plagued the defense for the entirety of the season, as well as yesterday's WSF. Hall needs to be relieved of his duties. Frankly, it should've happened last year.
  16. But why do you talented players miss tackles and blow assignments in coverage? Surely, the know how to tackle and cover. So, what's the issue? A garbage system putting talented players in positions of weakness and not playing to their strengths. We saw this in 2015, in 2016, and this past season. Despite personnel changes, the same issues have remained. How is that not the system in place?
  17. Anybody want this troll assclown banned? Congrats to Jonestown on winning a crossover game, the CFL equivalent of a participation ribbon.
  18. new DC new MLB a proven possession receiver another deep threat receiver improved depth at key positions The team is only a handful of pieces away from contending for a championship, IMO. But some of these changes should've been made last year. Hall had no business being back, Hurl getting a starting role on D was bewilderingly stupid, and signing another proven receiver seemed like a no brainer.
  19. Amazing how you only ever show up here after your team wins. But when they lose, you're nowhere to be found. Pathetic. To clarify on Hall, his 2007 defense went up against a QB making his first career start. And even then, the Riders only managed to win by 4 points. In 2013, it was widely reposted Chamblin took over defensive play-calling because Hall's schemes were ineffective. This troll routine of yours is godawful.
  20. He should've been gone at the end of 2016. But the team chose to stand pat and look at the results: same porous defense this season and in another WSF resulting in a big ol' L. It's time for Hall to go.
  21. https://www.bluebombers.com/2017/10/10/bombers-add-receiver-myles-white/ I have to imagine he'll be at TC next year.
  22. Yes. In that case, the Eskimos would've accepted the penalty instead and taken the ball 15 yards up from where the kick was fielded.
  23. The Bombers went 5-4 in the second half of the season. And lost some key personnel during that time. That's hardly an "overall collapse." To suggest a 12-6 team is average is absurd. A top tier offense and a top tier ST unit. This team is a few tweaks away, which means it's much better than average.
  24. Hall's gotta be as good as gone. I can't see any rationale whatsoever in keeping him around. Hurl's clearly a STer and nothing more. The Hurl MLB Experiment has to be over now. Hell's hot but I hear the beer is cold.
