  1. I saw Fred Penner in the Osborne Safeway on multiple occasions when I lived in the village. My dad told me about a time in the 70s when one of the current heads of the McCain empire visited their potato farm and he shook his hand (they were both in their teens at the time). Probably the richest person mentioned in this thread so far.
  2. Did you guys realize that the kids at Springfield Elementary were a bunch of cultural appropriating racists?
  3. Maybe that explains the McGough pick: he was was in some sort of dumbfounded stupor or uncontrollable fit of rage.
  4. Since TSN is raving over his testing numbers, let's compare #2 this year, and the guy we gave up #2 last year to get: Pro day results: Waggoner: 6’0”, 224, 4.56 forty 1.53 ten), 39.5 vert, 25 bench, 10’02 broad Judge: 6’0”, 220, 4.55 forty (1.59 ten), 36.5 vert, 19 bench, 10’11 broad
  5. #1 and #23 for #4, #13, and Gill.
  6. If I were Walters, I'd offer up #1 to Hamilton for 4 and 13, or even to Edmonton for 5 and 14. Then, try to come away with a the best CFL-bound player on my board first at 4 or 5(might be Ekakitie, Bladek, Spooner...), Gray at 6, Behar or one of the top LBs at 13 or 14, Ankou at 15, and then BPA or even Senior at 23. This seems like a good draft to take some futures, especially now that we don't need all of these guys on the roster right away.
  7. I don't know about the actual episode itself, but this is probably where all her drug issues started...
  8. Anyone take a look at Wilson's pro day numbers? 4.60 forty, 40.5-inch vert, 6.99 three-cone drill. Those numbers would be impressive if he was 30 pounds lighter. Could be a MLB dark-horse. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=97585&draftyear=2016&genpos=ILB
  9. Probably not relevant, but he and Corney were teammates at UVA in 2015.
  10. https://bomberbuzz.com/2017/04/07/2017-cfl-draft-mock-draft-version-2-0/ I'd be alright with the outcome of this one, but would be a little bummed about missing out on Gray. Might rather have Herdman at six than Behar though...
  11. The argument for the MPI-transit sponsorship was that it would help prevent people from drinking and driving after games. They provided funding for that specific initiative (show your ticket, ride for free) at the old stadium too.
  12. Funny how we still go through this 'operating profit' vs actual revenues and expenses each year. Count the stadium mortgage payment as an operating expense. You couldn't 'operate' the club without the stadium.
  13. Tyson Pencer had great size too... Heck, my brother-in-law is about 6'3" and 350 lbs, but nobody is drafting him either.
  14. The Bombers originally traded #6 in the 2010 draft for #9 and #22. At nine they took Watson, and then they traded #22 (where Steele was taken) for Alex Brink. Could've had Watson, Steele, and Greaves in the same draft (and we already had Donny O on the DL). Thanks Joe Mack (and thanks for nothing Alex Brink).
  15. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/02/14/nfl-draft-longshots-alton-voss-grand-valley-state-former-drug-addict-germone-hopper-clemson-cody Wonder if Cody Heiman is on any CFL neg list. Sounds like he's got CFL MLB written all over him.
  16. I'd be pretty surprised if Herdman doesn't get at least a UFA deal down south after his week at the Senior Bowl. Pat Kirwan from SiriusXM NFL radio goes down and broadcasts from there every year, and I heard him (without prompting) single out Herdman as a 'thumper who will stick his nose in there and stop the run', when talking to a caller about a team that needed help at LB.
  17. https://www.google.ca/finance?authuser=0&q=TSE%3ABYD.UN&ei=gtaHWJmwF8S1jAHFtYj4Dg If I'm Brock, I'd be retiring too (he's the presidet and CEO). Look at that chart!
  18. Too bad he finished a great block off with what likely would have drawn some sort of holding penalty in a real game.
  19. Add in Mulumba down the road and we could start four Canadians on the DL! Is that a pie in the sky, or a flying saucer? Either way, they are about as realistic as the scenario above.
  20. Did a little research. If we want to get a decent Canadian receiver, our best bet is to use all three of our top picks this year on receivers and then wait: CFL players drafted since 2008 who have had 500 yards receiving in a season: 2008: Sam Giguere (2 times) 2009: 2010: Shawn Gore (5 times) Cory Watson (2 times) 2011: Anthony Parker (1 time) Nate Coehoorn (2 times) Brad Sinopoli (2 times, both over 1000 yards, only player on list with 1000-yard season(s)) Rory Kohlert (1 time – went undrafted in 2009, entered league as UFA n 2011) 2012: 2013: 2014: 2015: 2016: Also, here’s an article that shows time will judge draft results much better than initial perceptions: http://www.bluebombers.com/2013/05/06/blue-bombers-pleased-with-2013-cfl-draft/
  21. It was actually fairly entertaining, in spite of Hugh Grant. Whatever you want to say about her otherwise, she can really act.
  22. You have to consider the exchange rate and proximity to family when looking at this job for him. Second, look at the potential earnings. If he can work his way up to a coordinator gig at a big conference school, or even a HC job at a small school (like Fresno State), he'll make far more than he would as a HC in the CFL. Worked out pretty well for Kliff Kingsbury after he left the Bombers: http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/
  23. Part of the congestion has to also be attributed to the fact that they ban residential parking in Fort Richmond. I live just across the river in St. Vital, basically at the foot of the Fort Garry bridge. It's a 20ish minute walk to the stadium, and my street (and all the surrounding ones) fills up 60-90 minutes before each game, and tons of people make their way over the bridge together on foot and bike. It's a great atmosphere and has minimal negative impact on the neighbourhood. Not sure what makes the Fort Richmond and University Heights folks so privileged, but allowing street parking in those areas would add a couple thousand parking spaces within a 2-km radius of the stadium, allow traffic to accumulate and disperse more gradually, and add to the game day atmosphere of the area.
