  1. Past hour
  2. yes. Like Anthony Calvillo did in MTL when things started going off the rails. He turned it around because he changed the way he played.
  3. The receivers are not fine. They're average. Re-program a 36 year old qb whose played for 25 years??
  4. Sure, but I'll worry about the GC when/if they get there. As of right now, they're a better team then they were this time last year.
  5. The receivers are fine, more of a QB issue IMO, maybe if Zach keeps missing those deep shots Jackson will convince him it's not working anymore and help to re-program him.
  6. here's a scary thought/observation...I have seen Kolo practicing it...eeeeeeee
  7. Gauthier stepped in, Novak is putting in time as a long-snapper as well.
  8. I was in Grade 7 when Bobby Sherman was popular. He was everywhere in teen magazines, the newspapers, hit songs on the radio, (his songs were hot garbage), he had a variety show & starred in a tv series. The girls in junior high were in a swoon over him. It seemed every girl's locker had a picture of him. I couldn't stand the guy. Then he just disappeared. his career was over as fast as it began. I read in the 90's that he became a paramedic & deputy sheriff. Now 55 years later, I don't hate him anymore. Rest In Peace, Bobby Sherman. I had to suffer so now y'all can, too.
  9. We won't spend money on receivers now. We're dead last in the CFL in receiving yards per game. We get what we pay for. Yet defensively, we waste money on guys like Thomas & Wilson. Makes no sense.
  10. 100%. If not, we need to be grooming an in house guy to do it more aggressively. I think it was Cadwallader who took over for him in first game, he was solid, I'd continue with that. Maybe even teach a guy like MCI to do it.
  11. Yeah, I think the only area the Elk stand to challenge us is Dl vs our OL. Even their OL is banged up and got a few changes. But that dl, they got some guys who get after it. Yeah, If he was in a flex tight grouping or even further out it's a nightmare for defences. Do you put a lil guy on him? He might pancake then still come in and seal another guy. do you take a good dl who can 1v1 away from the play? I'd love to see some Eli motion. Really screw with defences.
  12. Not a huge fan of our receiving corps. Got a QB who wants to go heavy vertical/intermediate stuff and two of 5 suited to that. Demski is too but really only wins consistently on a couple routes and needs to be open open to have a chance to finish plays downfield. Same **** as last year with receivers. Replace Lawler with Wheatfall. Sterns is Wilson. Get some bigger yet versatile bodies, catch radius guys. Hope Clercius develops some game on the inside breaking routes and not just being good at getting the YAC when D forgets about him.
  13. Today
  14. The season and how you go about it..roster..etc...sets you up tho for success in it tho...we effed it up during the yr 3 yrs running...so it's preventative maintenance so to speak
  15. Leroux should be retained on the PR, Benson is inches away from the end of his career. Give him a final shot at a GC at home, then a thank-you card for service provided.
  16. Keep running Eli to the sideline on goal-line plays, he'll draw at least one player with him and clear space for another receiver or running play inside.
  17. Eli as a TE/6 OL to assist in blocking...EDM has a very, very good DL and if he does sneak out now after the highlight reel grab last week....he will have to be respected even as a decoy... It doesn't effect the ratio and a healthy ELI, I agree is better overall to the team than a hobbling Demski. (for clarification...no I am not suggesting he is the better receiver, just perhaps a better overall fit against a really good D-line compared to a receiver who is hurt)
  18. Hopefully Laroux has a better game this week in his place. He was shakey, and got roughed up a couple times.
  19. Tbh, a lot of people had a similar opinon of Mos as a player. And Wade.
  20. Jokes aside, I would not hesitate to run 6ol with eli in on both passing and run downs. I'd much rather have him in vs the edmonton DL, than a banged up NI wr or Sterns(to get cooley on).
  21. Benson was injured on a downfield block on a punt return.
  22. Lots of options. Eli as you said. Last season there was a game where they had to trot Streveler out there as a receiver. They've had packages in the past that gets Willie out there as a TE. The possibilities are limitless!
  23. Are they playing in the GC this week? Or are they playing their 3rd game of the year. If we're going to compare the past and learn from history....the correct thing would be to compare where they are now compared to where they were relative to the same time last year. Last year they started 0-4 after a lazy TC. Would you say they admitted a mistake and learned from it? We can go on and on about the last 3 grey cups. But they aren't preparing for the GC this week.
  24. he's such an odd one...super nice guy...very smart...well spoken...but just an assbag on the field
  25. i second that....and puts guys in spots, and or utilzes their best assets to make life easier for ZC....Not the Buck way that we saw the last 2 seasons
  26. and hurt...age kills football players....well...keeps em off field more than on...Benson was never an injury issue...not sure what/how he got hurt but would a guy in his prime...or 12 yrs younger or so have gotten hurt??
  27. Hopefully jarious had a good chat with Zach about what he can and can not do anymore. We shall see.
