  1. Past hour
  2. On a rare positive note: we now seem to have a solid safety and Tony Jones had his best game as a Bomber- he seems to be getting better.
  3. The centre is terrible, but if Big Stan is healthy the OL is decent.

  6. Yes, on that second and 3, I would have left Collaros in and called a "regular" play, one with a couple of options. Putting all the big guys in and giving Streveler no option other than try to find a hole to whatever side the play called for. (Can he audible to change it? Is he even allowed that?) And, with his not totally healed body, he hasn't looked good on these short yardage plays. Wilson, imo, has looked better (more yards gained per attempt, I think). So if a play like that is the (dumb)call, get in your better player for that situation. It still ticks me off.
  7. Yep, it is disappointing. I would have considered opening the bank (darn any penalties) for another FA or two or different FAs. I have to wonder what Miller/Walters were thinking. (The extension for Collaros is one of many head-scratchers.) Having said that, I believe they'll be playoff bound (probably without a home game) and if the D continues to grow and the currently cringe worthy O can at least become more consistent, we have a shot.
  8. Yeah and I've said both qbs have to deal with a pile of **** around them... all I'm doing is pointing out the hypocrisy of some people who simply write off streveler as sucking meanwhile do all sorts of excuse making for collaros when he is throwing too many picks (2 more last night let's not forget), getting sacked when he holds the ball too long, having long periods of offensive ineptitude etc etc etc.
  9. I not overly concerned with the defense...injuries and all...we have pieces to be successful and it's a matter more of how we use them, and some we shouldn't use.....A couple more small yweeks and allowing a few guys to grow as they go and we should be alright...scheme at times is still a bit questionable but we have the athletes for the most part to be real good Offense.....yikes.....Oline isnt the issue many make it out to be...we just need to stick with the same 5 guys......and try a different center if not for anything to show we are actually trying to be better OC is an issue.....and when you don't have really any offensive weapons that scare anyone...and a running back who is definitely not 100 percent, your in for some tough sledding...why we haven't been bringing in legit wr guys constantly thru this first 8 weeks is a bit concerning....big bodied types....burners...and ones also who have return skills too For a yr we have chance to play in the Cup in our own back yard, the way we have gone about everything since January is disappointing to say the least...and sadly, not shocking
  10. Holy cow, that sounds like an incredible amount of work. Super curious about the tools and data sources you use -- do you have your own play-by-play database?
  11. last I looked ZC has thrown more picks than TD's as well....and if not for that one big game last yr would have in 2024....he ended up at 17-15 Streveler isnt at 100 percent so hard to judge him based on that as well as the mess the whole offence is right now....Sort of can say same with ZC but he has also been trending don since 2023 too, and really in all our playoff games since 2019....he really hasn't been the key cog as to why we won...has been average at very best right thru the 5 yrs, and can easily be said he was a significant reason for the losses tho But I do chalk a lot of that up to piss poor rostering....coaching....and in-game decisions more than anything....so it's not all on ZC but his decline is real and thinking otherwise (hello Osh and some fans) is just sticking head in the sand Is Strev the answer?...who knows....is ZC...who knows....but he isnt the future thats for sure....if anything we need to design a system to fit what we have, and in some ways what we dont have and also give Strev lots of use...try and develop some things suited to him and actually do some coaching, cause we gonna need him in some capacity this yr for sure, and looking at the QB landscape next yr is slim pickens for a savior...nobody is gonna trade us their starter...no rookie is gonna come in and be a bonafide starter, and salivating about some rando backup elsewhere who cant start where he is, isn't the best avenue either. So we likely need him next too....so start the actual process of putting in the work with him now We know it's gonna be ZC here as we tied our wagon to him already, Strev deserves to be back totally healed from surgery to fight it out and hopefully both have actual legit weapons to work with, and a mind leading them to create something
  12. Here's what I have for makes from 2005 to Week 10 of this year, 4 singles and 21 misses for no points: Year Game Kicker Distance 2010 45 Prefontaine 57 2011 47 Medlock 57 2015 67 Medlock 57 2016 11 Medlock 58 2016 68 Maher 58 2017 41 Medlock 57 2017 54 Castillo 57 2018 94 Medlock 57 2019 14 Lauther 57 2022 24 Lauther 57 2022 54 Small 58 2022 80 Small 57 2024 24 Castillo 60 2024 31 Castillo 57 2024 42 Castillo 60 2024 61 Paredes 57 2025 34 Castillo 58 2025 37 Maltos 58 2025 48 Castillo 63
  13. It's all from data I've collected over the years for this kind of situation. The CFL does have a database but I'm not sure what's in the current version (Genius Sports).
  14. To be fair Streveler threw 3 picks in his second victory. I'm not sure how many games you are gonna win when your starter throws 3 picks and no TDs, so I really wouldn't chock that up to him too much. People have been making all kinds of excuses for Streveler as well. Throwing more INTs than TDs and having a 7.6 YPA isn't going to win you many football games. The only qualified starter that his YPA is better than is MBT and... yeah
  15. Absolutely they were. Which is why I always push back on the idea that collaros did anything special in that run.
  16. Jesus Murphy…. What a stomach turning game. Here’s every play + replays from last nights win against Ottawa. https://youtu.be/PmwN0G4K2Ds?si=eez5PzNG6vzK06io
  17. Yeah, you are. You're making it sound like it was a 1A, 1B situation or that Streveler was a co starter. In that run, Collaros was the QB and took the majority of reps with Streveler taking a change of pace, support role. He contributed and made some big plays, 39 yard run to make it 35-14 in the WSF and that TD to Harris in the Grey Cup. That said, the D and Andrew Harris were both more important factors.
  18. Not revising anything, both guys got lots of playing tome6in 2019, and IMO we don't get past calgary if it's just Zach out there.
  19. Is this math mathing? 2025 Guide Book has 15 Field Goals made past 57 yards up to 2025, and then 16 at 57. So 31 made up to this year. I know Maltos and Castillo are the only ones to hit from that this year, but if there are 25 missed and you hit at 61% that says you should have 39 makes.... that is for all of CFL History... if you are talking JUST SINCE 2005... I only count 5 > 57 in the guide book, and then in the 57 bucket most of those guys haven't played since 2005 anyways. It would be interesting to see the context of some of those kicks as well, because I feel as though when you are kicking a 57 yard field goal, the other team might not be inclined to try to house it.... the example everyone here is probably familiar with is the 2016 West Semi Final when O'Shea tried to get Medlock to hit a 61 yarder, but he came up short and the Lions just downed it to run down the clock. So small sample bias aside... you need to apply a similar criteria to the TD drive one you used, so its what percent of field goals from 57+ yards are returned for a TD, with >30 seconds (we'll use this as the time limit the victory formation could be used for) on the clock and the other team tied or down any number of points
  20. Zach started the final game and all three playoff games. Streveler rotated in but they really didn't split time. IMO, you're revising history.
  21. How does any of that excuse his play calling? And it's not like other people haven't been getting s**t on for those things. Walters has taken heat for the roster make-up, MOS has taken heat for our roster management and coaching decisions and Hogan is taking heat for play calling. The blame is going to the proper people IMO- Buck got it last year because he is responsible for our backup QB being hobbled but yeah lets create a false narrative that it's all on the OC.
  22. Until they put together 4 qtrs of football I disagree.3
  23. I think the decision to kick the FG at the end is based on percentages. Castillo is like 89% on FGs and almost 100% outside the 50. You take the high chance of scoring vs the 4% chance that gets returned. Normally a missed FG is stopped and ends up being the same as a punt anyways. Lots of factors go into that decision. Maybe we punt and it’s shanked out of bounds, we kick into the end zone for a point going up by 8 (still only a one score game) and they get the ball or it gets blocked. If we lost yesterday because of that missed FG that wouldn’t have been the only reason. We had chances earlier to kick a FG and didn’t losing out on points.
  24. I was more frustrated with the call on 2nd and 3 than I was with the FG attempt. Although, I definitely would’ve punted, that 2nd down call was really bad.
  25. I may be out to lunch here but it seems to me, apart from some ridiculous decisions the last couple of games, our co-ordinators have come out with a decent enough game plan to get us a good lead by the half. Then the opposing co-ordinators, after having a 1/2 to size things up, make adjustments and come out in the second 1/2 and start chopping away at us...but our co-ordinators aren't able to keep up and make counter changes on the fly. Granted it must be harder to make changes on the fly rather than having a half to notice tendencies...but it's something you have to be able to do if you want to be a pro co-ordinator. So...do they just need more time to grow into their rolls? Are they just not adjusting fast enough/at all? Are the players not able to implement the adjustments they make? Any of this making any sense?
  26. I have to admit that I was fit to be tied while watching the second half last night. Fortunately, I was watching with my 8 year-old grandson and 5 year-old granddaughter and some Lego blocks so I kept it under control. I might have auggested that the coaches should be fired but in a nice way, sort of. Anyway, after a sleep, I think that things are shaping up with the D and with the injuries to the DBs in particular, the team will be forced into bringing in some bodies that may develop. Younger seems competent enough although I didn't like his schemes towards the end of the game. Special teams are coming along pretty well, too, that hiccup of a TD return against them excepted. They still take the odd unnecessary penalty though. I like Vaval and I'm beginning to appreciate Sheehan. Sergio, well, he's no Medlock but he's Sergio so that's quite alright. As for the offence, I'm not as positive about them. I hope that Hogan's Zero can figure it out (soon) but I'm not holding my breath. Collaros surprised me with that run to set up the FG so perhaps a few more roll-out plays should be called for, although not too many of those where he has to throw across his body. I'm just hoping for a competent O but I'm concerned that the go-to-guy for the long ones is Demski. I'm hoping for them to make the playoffs and since this is rhe CFL where anything can happen...... Go Bombers Go!
  27. @DTonOB what data sources do you use for your research? Does the CFL have a stats database for media?
