  1. Past hour
  2. Ayers had the second most tackles last week eeek and he plays special teams only really. Dude ain’t coming off.
  3. I don't have the overall roster numbers per game this year, but Calgary, Montreal, Saskatchewan, and Toronto have all carried a bunch of bodies and rotated heavily on the DL. Calgary has 8 ol on the ar right now, 6 of which are imps. The Argos have 7, with 5 imps. The riders have 9, with 6 imps and 1 global. The Als have 7, with 3 imps plus Johnson on the IR. Those 4 teams are the top 4 teams at rushing the passer in the league. They combined have 98 sacks, the remaining 5 combine for 75. Calgary and SSK are likely the 2 best Ds in the league right now. For my money, Montreal is in the top half of defences as well, pretty easily. ott, is running 9 dl with 3imps and 1 global. Edmonton is running 10dl, with 5 imps. Bc is running 10 with 5 imps. And Hamilton is running 7 with 5 imps. We've got 7, with 4 imps. Though we ran more than half of the year so far with 6 and 3-4. So the TLDR is, if you have Canadians who can pass rush, or fringe starters as back-ups rotating heavily, you can get away with less. If you don't teams are running a lot of DL to rotate currently. But we are not doing really either. We don't put out a lot of DL bodies, and we don't have quality ni pass rushers.
  4. Ya honestly I'd worry that we'd overpay because we're desperate for receivers. And we don't know if he can duplicate last year's success...
  5. I don't think it would require 2 DI spots... because they way the roster is already laid out Ayers is on the DL anyway, this would be swapping he and Woods.
  6. I really liked Echols last preseason. Don't think Moore can do much, kind of always limited in terms of ability to win routes even at his peak.. Screen, or down the rail. Two ACL injuries. Think we really need to build up offense around opening up horizontal space and then going over the top with Wheatfall based on who we have. Not a ton of vertical threat, Mitchell looks a little heavy to me otherwise he'd be a guy that would be a vertical threat. Get Logan involved in combo with Oliviera both running and in pass game. It's going to be a slog.
  7. I like Pokey but I wouldn’t go crazy overpaying for 1 year of production. I’d offer him a fair contract with an nfl out but if you ain’t making the NY jets then I’m not sure you getting another shot. I mean I work at a job that makes nepotism hires. I don’t mind but all the new office people are sons or daughters of bosses. In the nfl would a guy who was drafted and cut maybe get a shot over a guy who was undrafted and out the cfl. ?? I’m not sure there but I’d imagine NY was his chance.
  8. He's got 17 weeks to get PR or active in NFL. He's got basically 7 game cheques that he can make up here. And if he chooses the latter he's taking a punt on the NFL until 2026. The Bombers would really have to sign him to a huge extension IMO to get him to come north. And I'm also not sure he's that good in our league.
  9. Do many teams use two di spots on the dl?
  10. but sitting and waiting...maybe traveling here and there to get a workout....doesn't pay you anything either....
  11. I don't disagree but the incentives to come north this season are not that great. If he does he basically ends any hope he does have of getting a NFL shot for a bit of Canadian money.
  12. need to find a way to get more Safteys who can't cover anyone, and 1-dimensional lbers on the roster. No other back-ups. And maybe we can start a lber at wr to sneak them on... Ayers get a new number!
  13. Very likely, but the talent level overall would've dipped and made the game much harder to watch, especially for casual fans. Like the late 90s when the gap between imps and nis was gigantic. We would've been hit hard league-wide at OL. I think most teams would've had to start 3-4 imports. We had a lot of good ni ol in that time who likely would've been the prime targets.
  14. No, I can’t either, but I wouldn’t have thought he’d get a look in the first place, so who knows….
  15. I'm thinking the CFL would have had to reduce NAT starting roster spots. 32 extra spots for NAT players in the NFL would be a disaster for us. We would have likely lost 8-10 more of our best NATs a year.
  16. Today
  17. That's how everyone would do it except osh...
  18. Earned a couple scarfs for that smart thinking
  19. nor can I...and if he did 99% sure be waiting around for a call and not on a PR making zero dinero He's a dime a dozen receiver down there...proba nickle a dozen really...no knock on him as a player...but just not super exceptional in anything for an NFL roster no he's busy getting his arse whopeD in MMA
  20. Wane McGarrity would solve everything.
  21. That's how I would roll with it
  22. Denmark is never too far removed from another come back... Or wr streveler lol. He tore his ACL last year and missed the whole year.
  23. Woods for Ayers, Bailey for Weitz would give you say Vaughters/Lawson/Adams/Jefferson starting with Woods, Shcemekel, Person and Baily rotating in. Would seem to be the way to go against the Riders.
  24. Moore and Echols are ok, at least they both have experience. Moore I assume takes the Stern role (I assume he's out long term). Does anybody know why Moore didn't play last year? Heck both are better than Corcoran and Cobb.
  25. Was Terence Jeffers-Harris not available?
