  1. Past hour
  2. Tony Ortiz is going to be huge, trust me bro.
  3. Yeah probably not worth his deal but also notable that like 2/3 of our passing yards against are on the crew we've had trying to fill that spot this season.
  4. Yup...Ford was definitely a no go...that's a position easily filled every 2..3 yrs with an entry level deal if your scouting is even just average
  5. Ford, still even with the Injuries we have, I stand by he would not be worth his contract. Lawler in hindsight was a "miss" even at his contract value......
  6. We just need toys that are not broken...and obsolete
  7. I don't think they would have signed Elgersma if they weren't willing to keep him on PR for a couple years if he showed any flash. CFL really ****** themselves with the rookie contract because there's zero chance a guy like Elgersma would come up until his NFL shot is totally done. And at this point there's probably 10-12 teams that would PR him if Green Bay doesn't. Maybe he'd come up to actually play if he could make $350,000 or $400,000 CAD. The stats don't mean much but what he's showing does. He's a guy they automatically view as incredibly raw but toolsy. But he's producing easily against the guys in his bracket. So he's earned a shot somewhere to keep developing in the NFL. And there's no chance he'd even consider the CFL as long as he has that because he'll make as much as the Bombers can sign him for in 3 weeks on the NFL PR.
  8. When are people going to learn preseason statistics don’t mean anything?
  9. Ayers hopefully gets swapped for Woods...far greater net gain than an oline i think And you are right...we need to develop...and sign...stop letting guys walk cause we cheap and insist paying premium on old declining vets instead of young guys with yrs ahead of them...poor longterm roster management here...zero forward thinking...lotsa looking in rear view tho
  10. People here are always clamoring for the shiny new toy. The guy who can't make a team anywhere is going to be an all-world player...if he just gets a chance.
  11. 3 of our DI's take almost no reps on O or D, obviously one is a kicker. We wouldn't be losing much if Ayres or Jones weren't dressed if the trade off is a solid, reliable OL. We have 3 good Americans. OL is the most crucial position group. Make that strong as possible we have a chance at a consistent offence. Get the run game going so we can consistently use playaction and open up space down the field. Leave it as is, we are what we are. Look fine against teams with shitty D, can't do anything against any of the teams with a quick DL. I'd also be in favour of moving on from Kolankowski or Neufeld, or kicking Neufeld to C. Again...are we playing to win the Grey Cup or develop Wallace for when he signs with BC in 2027?
  12. Lawler would easily replace anybody in that group and make it better. The only guy close in skill and production is Demski. To say that group is better is just ridiculous and hilarious
  13. I'd go 3 American ol if the interior American was at C...
  14. Our receivers aren't the problem? Hamilton, Ottawa, BC, Saskatchewan, Montreal. Calgary and Toronto all have much better groups. I'd say that's a huge problem.
  15. Today
  16. Well the GM obviously envisioned a group of schoen, Mitchell, demski, clercius a d wheatfall/sterns... which is better.
  17. wouldn’t say an easy one, but one he should have. also, we’ve seen a few more drops settling in the last month or so. and wrs struggle to be in the right spot. a lot of that execution comes down to coaching and depth. we saw it before when roosevelt came in. prior a lot of guys had trouble with drops. sheed and demski especially. suddenly every one is playing to keep their spot and have to step up. and they did.
  18. agree. zach is a problem. so is the ol, and wr core. but oc is the biggest issue. thing with zach is, he’s been hurt twice this year already and was beaten up a lot last year. he’s played what 3? games at the level you need in the past year. and we’ve seen him fall into this cycle before with ssk and ham. at his age i dont think hes got another turn around in him even with an improved supporting cast. Qbs are hard to replace though. ocs, and wrs pretty easy. that’s the starting point imo
  19. dude is playing other 6th stringers, and we’ve seen better pre season mvps get cut at qb. elgersma isn’t in the running for ar, he’s in a battle for the pr spot. He was a flyer and tc arm. Willis is their previous 3rd round pick, who they’ve been grooming. hes a good mobile back up and at 26 is already good enough to be a career ar qb in the nfl for as long as he wants. Their other back up, clifford is a more recent 5th round pick of the pack. hes got rookie strev levels of athleticism, but with 4 years of starting in the big 10 where he won 32 of 46 games, started and won the rose bowl, threw for over 10k 86/31 adding over 1k rushing and 15 more tds.
  20. Zc has really been outplayed in last 3...and even the 2 wins...wasn't from him shooting the lights out...both those were total team wins and riding a solid AF defence and a killer ground game.
  21. We don't need 3 imp oline guys...u need to get off that train...that just limits us a skill position guy on offence or a key guy on defence....the 3 import olineman thing benefit doesn't really outweigh anything...gotta let Wallace grow and get used to things...he already is better than what he was first part of season We need to swap out the center if anything
  22. We have some hope then...
  23. That one at the shins...looking back to the q.b.....that's on ZC ...that's a tough catch to make at best of times for elite guys
  24. Yup...everything he has done is the right call...do it again...he just can't admit failure or he screewdd up...same with roster...if it isnt injury dictated he won't change a thing as it shows he screwed up in player choice The Bridges release was an utter shock...almost think it was Walter's maybe who said enough is enough...cause there is still a few guys who if not cut or PR'd shouldn't be playing....at the least starting or getting premium reps
  25. Just an observation about Clercius. In each of the last two games, he has dropped, in my opinion, an easy one. And, I've posted this before, if Demski, who I really like, is the (only) go-to-guy for those long ones, we're going to have trouble on O.
